  1. ^And Disney parks have multiple dark rides. Is there some rule that non-Disney parks can't have more than one? I think this would be a much better use of the old Action Theater building, although I would miss seeing "Haunted House" during Haunt (it's a ghost story from a cat's point of view).
  2. Flamingo Land--UK
  3. ^The restraints on Shockwave are pretty awkward for everyone, and I imagine even more so it you're tall. Try to ride the front row if you can. At least it's fun through the loop, although the rest of the ride can be rather rough and clunky. Flight of Fear might be a tight fit for you, too--but you should be able to manage it.
  4. For Kings Dominion, the main thing is to show up at the main gate between 8:15 and 9:00 am to register and get your stuff. They usually have a briefing before the ERT begins. We'll know for sure on Sunday morning.
  5. I personally believe that my body type greatly influences how rough I perceive a ride to be, since I am 5'11", 135 pounds - so I have a lot of wiggle room within restraints to be rattled around. For instance, I found Fury 325 to be slightly rough, when many others didn't. Yes, that could be. For example, I love Skyrush, but I do find the restraints uncomfortable. But I like Verbolten's trains and find them very comfortable.
  6. Excellent photos. Lightning Run is one of the most insane "little" coasters in the U.S. More parks should install this ride (along with Mega Lites).
  7. ... and if you can't ride Shockwave is that really a bad thing? lol Nope.
  8. There is so much wrong with this I don't even know where to start... You forget that this is personal preference, not universal truth - you are perfectly entitled to your opinion(s). Yes, let's keep it civil, everyone. I agree with some of what he said here (especially regarding Phantom's Revenge and Exterminator). But as for Verbolten being rough, well . . . I've never found that to be the case. I also think Carowinds' Intimidator is just plain dull.
  9. I'm around 5' 9" with a 42-inch waist and haven't had a problem at KD. My guess is that the biggest challenge for you will be Shockwave. But it all depends on how weight is distributed.
  10. B: Busch Gardens Williamsburg
  11. Betsy Palmer died last week at the age of 88. She appeared mostly on TV, but you probably know her as . . . Jason Voorhees's mom in Friday the 13th. So, if you live near Crystal Lake, you might want to be extra careful. I did see her on stage in New England once, performing Love Letters with Gavin "Love Boat" MacLoed.
  12. Nooooooo!! How could they get rid of it? My friends and I all loved that stupid song, it was one of the highlights of our last visit! Definitely one of the most interesting things at Dorney,
  13. Ultimate, The--Lightwater Valley
  14. ^ & ^^Yes, Vekoma Intvertigo coasters can be fun--when they work.
  15. Periscope and Peoplemover don't mix!
  16. Yes, I need to get to the Disneyland Resort for this event--looking forward to seeing more of this report.
  17. ^Well, give them time. Who knows what the future may hold, except for Cobra's Curse?
  18. I've never found I305 to be "rough"--just "intense."
  19. Being as the back story is an archeological dig that's uncovered some sort of snake god, I think having an "excavation elevator" as a lift makes sense. Besides, elevator lifts are cool.
  20. ^Must be a "generational" thing.
