I'm very impressed with the theming that Ferrari World put into this ride--the queue looks fantastic. Looks like a number of other good attractions are being added, too.
Yes, locals were very much against Disney's America and felt that park would ruin the "historic" character of the Bull Run battlefield and the town of Manassas. Of course, now the area is covered with housing developments, suburban strip malls, and Cracker Barrel restaurants. Oh, well . . .
I never felt Skyrush looked underwhelming at all at first glance. Those of us who have been on Mega-Lites and other smaller Intamin rides know what to expect. They have the ability to pack a LOT of intense ride action into a small space.
Skyrush was one of the few coasters that actually frightened me the first time I rode it. If Flying Aces is in that league, it sounds good to me.
^Well, this is the same movie in which Michael Caine jumps in the ocean, swims to a boat, then climbs aboard while perfectly dry. So, I guess we're expected to accept an exploding shark.
My guess is that no sharks will explode on Mako.
I have a fondness for the old Western Rivers Expedition, which was going to be Frontierland's version of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Then again, Big Thunder arose from all this work, too--and that works for me.
