Superman The Escape
Blazen_AZN replied to Goliathdude's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
you hate it... but it's fun? huh?? Anyway, yeah the ride was probably much more exciting when it came out... but to me, and lots of people who have not been on rocket/compressed air coasters, the launch is still a rush. (ive been on xlr8r and i still like superman) -
Superman The Escape
Blazen_AZN replied to Goliathdude's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Superman is really a unique coaster, unlike practically every other coaster in the world, it will get faster with less people and less warmth, keep that in mind. on other launched coasters it will get it's highest when people are on it and it is warm, so you get closest to the top of the spike in the middle of the day, when people see it. On superman they had to build the spike according to how high it would get empty in the morning. When you see that coaster when walking around the park it will start to freefall the farthest from the top of the spike than any other time of that day. To sum it up, the launch varies in certain conditions, and they have to build the spike according to it's fastest launch, that happens to be when you don't notice it. the ride still can kiss the brakes every once in awhile, you just have to be lucky. and your after line is REALLY pushing it! -

about the PS3's price, you have to remember that one of the more expensive things on the system is the blu-ray. The PS3 will probably cost a $h!tload to build, but i believe they will be willing to take a loss as long as they get blu-ray players out there, you have to remember that they are a movie company too, most all movies on the PSP are Sony productions, and that is they make more money with each movie sold then they do with anything else PSP related (including the hardware itself) But i am definately waiting out until the revoulution, not only for the cheaper price, but because i like the hardware, i have found lately i have been buying more and more "non-controller" games.. (my last few games bought were DDR, Kareoke Revoulution party, Donkey Knog Jungle Beat, and a slew of Nintendo DS games) When i realized that, i realized that nintendo is probably on the right track (for me, anyway) in the next generation. BUT i am seriously considering getting a PS3 somehow, someway, just to sell it on ebay. I don't care if i camp out at Best Buy all night, the $$$ will be worth it!

^its probably the fact that it's pretty active (much like this site) but i agree, there is alot of bickering. another problem i find with the site is that it loads horrendously slowly. all sites on my computer are instant, that site takes a few MINUTES to load. but really i would have loved for them to go down a few minutes later than they did, (a couple mins before the day of Tatsu's announcement) an admin apparently knew somthing and was going to reveal it around midnight... couldnt have gone down at a worse time (for me)

Knotts Berry Farms TR; November 22, 2005
Blazen_AZN replied to TConwell's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
wow, did you call silver bullet's inversions tight, that it has some serious positive G's and great speed? I take it you've never ridden a batman! Also, the loop on monte isn't "about 4Gs", more like about 6. anyway, it's great to see a TR about Knotts, havn't seen one of those in awhile, thanks for taking one for the team. -
i got 43/50, 62mile aveage error, i got them mostly in ALMOST the right area, just a LITTLE off, dang thing kept throwing me states like CO with no bordering states!, problem was i missed ONE by about 900 miles, i have NO idea what i was thinking.

WoW! That put my christmas decorations to shame! My goal used to be Grizwald like, this definately takes the cake though! -
Really, i don't know what to think. if i didn't live in LA near MM i think i would love the idea, becaucase my home park would probably have been ignored for years, thus any change could not worsen the park. it will either still be ignored, or i would get new rides. it can only get better or stay the same. The problem is i do live near MM, the park that gets all the attention (SFGAdv is catching up though) so we may see less frequent additions from the new management. Really, premier's favoritism is somthing i personally enjoyed, because it gave me new rides... now that may go away. But I'm still hopeful.

Yoshi Touch n Go is more of an old-school type game in the sence that you have (about) two levels that you replay over and over trying to beat your record scrore/distance. Many people like this type of game, but if that's not your thing, stay away. instead get Kirby: Canvus Curse. It bascially takes the same concept and pushes it into a full fledged game, and is awsome. But the game that spends the most time in my DS in Meteos, a very fast paced puzzle game that is HIGHLY addictive, and in my opinion the best puzzle game ever made. Warioware is great if you have ADD/ADHD! I also like Castlevania. it really depends on the type of games you prefer.

MagicMountain all year pass for $49?!
Blazen_AZN replied to SpectralN's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, my husband just got (sort of) the same thing in the mail! One free one-day admission And/OR season pass; $15 off a one-day pass if you buy a full admission; and one free annual pass if you buy a one day admission And we have never been there either!!! (Well, I worked there for about a month and a half, but that doesn't count) Isn't it amazing what parks do to get you to visit? LOL! XD -amanda We got the same thing. look on the bottom of the $15 off and the free annual pass if you buy a one day admission. yup, valid for up to six people! -
^^eh, im in the same bus as them (the short bus, according to socalman's sig) but hey, there are a good 1000 girls in my middle school alone, so i have no complaints! i'm straight, 14 (just turned) and recently became available! odd, just last night i was wondering the same thing about TPR relationships, funny i should find a thread about it.

you know, i was thinking the same thing when i heard about the play pass, but i thought about it and it all made sense. Like Robb said, a lot of your money comes from concessions, souvenirs, etc. When you think about it, no matter how crowded your park gets, it will still cost the same to operate, (the only difference i could think of is that you have to keep your rides open longer after closing, but I'm sure they would just close the line if it gets too big, like X.) so really, the more people you get into your park, the better. Another thing, people with season passes bring in more customers, they bring company that don't have passes, that pay admission. And they are likely to come more often when someone has a pass. They have obviously found that it works or they will not have done it, heck, just yesterday Universal Studios Hollywood sent me a free season pass, a free ticket, 6 15$ off admission coupons, and 6 buy a day get a year free coupons, and i have never even been there! -
well this definately doesnt qualify as underrated elsewhere, i feel on this site X is way underrated! Personally it's my favorite coaster. But i understand that many people find it too rough, I didn't even notice it. Same goes for Goliath, but i may understand criticizisms for that ride, i have never been on any coaster that really gave GREAT airtime, so my thoughts may very well change this summer when i get around to some more parks around the US.

you know, i think i know why they didn't have it automatically show up in place of the banner showing the number of days left until the reveal. if you do it based on time like that you can just adjust your computer's clock to the next day. (ie, if you change the date on your comp to Nov 7 and go to the SFMM website, it will say "10 days left") so they're going to have to post it later.

aww, if they announce it at 10AM it's not going to be up for my first period class (where i can easily acsess the internet)! im goin to have to fight myself not to go to the library during lunch! I just hope this rollercoaster will not dissapoint, and given its location, i know it won't for me... but a unique layout definately won't hurt its chances of being awsome!
