Definitely the under dog of this season's more gimmicky announcements (wing riders, twisting hybrids and backward launchers), but Gold Striker looks like such a solid, no nonsense wooden coaster. It's probably not going to crack anyone's top 10 list, yet it's the one coaster announced so far who's riders can dispense with the airtime obsessed nitpicking and just have FUN. I'm really looking forward to watching this one opening, and getting back up to the north soon.

Orlando Mummy, if you want to count them as launches. Other than the launches, loop and the top hat, this ride looks really lame. Oh wait! That's all there is to it... LOL! You're totally right!!! That's amazing! Ok, so now SFMM has nothing to claim I guess!!! They absolutely do have something they can claim. Most idiotic management/PR people to ever run an amusement park!

Personally, I don't think SFMM has any interest in a racing or dueling coaster any longer (just a feeling). If the treatment happens (and I think it's already in the works), I fully expect Colossus will become a single track coaster, giving them more space to work with, while bringing down the overall cost. I actually think Colossus is the perfect ride for this treatment. It already uses mostly steel I-beams to keep the ride smooth and cut down on maintenance costs, and let's face it...the layout is boring, uneventful and lacks anything to make it intimidating and exciting any longer.

Flatride at SFMM? Easy to predict... Sky Screamer for 2014. Pencil it in. As far as the FT being longer? I would have loved another 1500ft after the top hat. It's going to be the biggest weakness of the ride. On the other hand, I can think of several "well received" launch coasters that do less than Full Throttle does.

I like the idea of the backward launch. Should give a pretty amazing sensation then launching forward out of the tunnel. I don't pay much mind to early complaints about a coaster. People complained about Skyrush until the ride started construction. To me this looks like the most re-rideable coaster added to this park in forever.

^^I'd say about 650-700, if they really pump those trains out. But I don't have high hopes for that happening beyond media day. Anyone know how quickly they load the Lex Luthor cars. They did a great job when I was there (minus the breakdowns). I wonder if they've kept that up? BTW, I agree Robb. What is up with the sudden lack of capacity in that place?

Once the hefty expectations die down, I think people will see what a cool ride this is. I'm not a big fan of vertical loops any more, yet this one is kind of clever. I love the twisty section after the loop (should provide great visuals). The "space dive" drop looks looks kind of crappy in that video (OMG that horrible video lol), but in reality should be the best part of the ride, and something I never thought would or could be done at the Mountain. Stopping the train inside the tunnel (instead of firing it up) seems silly, but should catch the GP off guard. And then the final trick, what should be the best airtime moment in all of California (sad really). Overall, I'll take it. It looks like a very interesting ride, sort of Stormrunnner meets Speed:The Ride. I'm also interested in the area designed around the coaster. THAT could make for one of the coolest areas of the park! If we're next on the list of Iron Horse remodels (Colossus), it could make for a great 1-2 punch the park needs.
