  1. While they are not free parks file for trademarks that they don't use all the time; see Centurion and Strat-O-Soar in Cedar Fair's case. Both of which were never used and are now inactive.
  2. Either the front row (particularly at night) or the 2nd to last row are the best for Beast (and Racer).
  3. Is a train for T3 even on site yet? With zero testing being done so far is a May 30 opening date even possible at this point? I assume a certain number of cycles with the new train(s) will be needed for state certification, right?
  4. If it is open go to Maverick, if not then go to Millennium Force. Then get in line for Top Thrill right at rope drop.
  5. Saturday is the only day that you would run into any sort of significant crowd. Cornball Express is a great coaster but really the only one worth multiple rerides. If Lost Coaster is open then get in line as it experiences a lot of down time. Den of Lost Thieves is a fun old school dark ride and most people say that Dr. Frankenstein's Haunted Castle walkthrough is worth the upcharge to do (personally its not really my thing). The S&S tower and Falling Star are worth riding.
  6. Looks like Indiana Beach is adding a new water area call Bay Beach, which will open this summer according to their Facebook page. The area includes a wave pool, bowl slide, racing slides, and cabanas. Indiana Beach Facebook Page
  7. It will be a Fast Lane Plus ride this year along with Banshee, Beast, and Firehawk.
  8. I'm not trying to say its a coaster, because I do not think it is. The timing seems really odd to start work on a flat that you could easily prep for and install after the season. I think it may be for something besides a ride. Maybe green space (at least this year).
  9. A Friday in July will be somewhere between moderately to very busy. Better than Saturday but still busy. I always advise to get to the park before purchasing Fast Lane but it may end up being worth it. Wait times for Flight of Fear, Firehawk, Inveritgo, and Backlot will probably be near or above an hour all day. If you end up getting Fast Lane then ride order won't really matter. If you do not get it, I would make sure to get there right at opening (or for ERT if you have Gold/Platinum passes). When the park opens go directly to X Base and ride Firehawk first (if its open, it sometimes opens a little later then the rest of rides) and then get in line for Flight of Fear (or backwards if Firehawk isn't open yet). I would then go to Backlot Stunt Coaster or Invertigo. Both will carry long lines throughout the day and you will probably have to bite the bullet and wait for one of them. Vortex, Diamondback, Banshee, and Racer (when both sides are running) are all people eaters and can be hit whenever. Do not be intimidated by full queues for Diamondback or Banshee as both are generally only about 40-50 minute wait when full. Drop Tower and Delirium are really the only must ride flats in my opinion. A few other tips: Ride Vortex in 5-1. It is literally 300% smoother than any other seat. Some people swear by the front row on Racer but I prefer the second to last row. Ride Beast in either the front or second to last row. Banshee is a back row ride (if possible, they do assign seats but requests are normally granted) Diamondback is incredible in both the very front and very back.
  10. The Flying Dutchman is still listed on their website but I highly doubt CF would ever buy another one, given the headaches that Firehawk and Nighthawk have caused on a semi-regular basis.
  11. Really I think it has more to due with their capacity versus the demand that they have. I believe Maverick's capacity was somewhere around 1200 pph. Not B&M numbers but not terrible. The issue is its popularity and its downtime. It also makes them seem a little worse that they share a park with several coasters (Raptor, GateKeeper, Magnum, etc.) that can really chew through the crowds.
  12. The park hasn't "buys anything worth nothing" because they don't need to. It is the only entertainment option of its type for 95% of its customer base. They have shown that they will keep coming year after year without massive cap-ex additions. And that's fine. MiA doesn't need to be (and never will be) another CP.
  13. It has been stated before that MiA carries one of the highest profit margins in the chain. It is not being sold.
  14. Well if you weren't already convinced that this has exactly zero chance of happening, that video should do it.
  15. Last I heard it was still standing. A few people over at KIC even reported the power was still on at the building as of mid January.
  16. Has anyone heard anything about when (if?) to expect the poll to open?
  17. It would be very interesting to see what people said about rides like Mean Streak if they were in a different park. If for example Mean Streak and Shivering Timbers switched parks.
  18. You have to remember that they had a rough year with things that were not really in their control. They lost an entire weekend to the water main break which is not an insignificant amount of people. Wasn't there a power outage (or something) that forced the park to close early/not open another Saturday as well?
  19. For KI and CP it actually has to due with an Ohio regulation that states that all ride manufactures recommendations must be implemented and followed by the parks.
  20. Taking into account only inflation Griffon would be about $17.1 million today. So if it is in fact a serious proposal we could be seeing something shorter/smaller. While it isn't something that I would say CP needs, I am sure it would be a huge hit with the gp. Personally I would love to see a nice twisty GCI.
  21. "flash fried in a breeding cube" - This sounds like a TPR sponsored activity for sure! Awesome pics, thanks for sharing!
