I doubt that Dueling Dragons is in any trouble of ever being removed. It is unique, it is a signature attraction, and it is what really got people all gung-ho about IOA in the first place. Of the dueling coasters I've been on it seems to be the only one that can consistently chew through its queue, as it should, considering it is basically double capacity... In the off-season it is usually < 10 minute wait (5 for the walk, 5 in queue... if you're going for the front ) which is not much different than the Hulk.

Unless I gleamed over it, how comfortable or intrusive are the lap bars? Completely off-topic, but... in the Carrowinds food sign.... I know that " # " is the pound sign. I get it... but... it is also the number sign. Is it just me, or is it odd to look at 1/3# burger? Was it worth the extra $0.50 a letter to not have to put l and b? -

I live pretty much right down the road from this and yeah.... the only people who go there are the new arrivals of vacation homes who simply don't know any better. Deals are absolute crap and the things you would want usually aren't in stock and if they *gasp* are then they're probably $2 more expensive than somewhere else. The Publix about 1.5 miles down the road (now with its very own Orlando Alehouse---- which is awesome) is just a better place because of Buy One- Get Ones and less sketchy food. The only one that I know of still in existence is at the Crossroads off of 535/Apopka-Vineland/"That place that Hotel Plaza Blvd ends"at. -
It was my first (and probably last) Arrow suspended just because if I don't get to the rest of them, they too might be gone. Was it amazing? Not really. It was fun for what it was, the village section was pretty cool. The last drop was cool, but as soon as it happens, it ended. Not a bad ride, but yes, I don't believe it is deserving of the undue praise either... but, look at public figures whom "pass on." They too are often remembered in a light that is far more forgiving and positive than many deserve. Nostalgia is one tough son of a bitch.

While those shows are indeed funny to watch (for all of the wrong reasons of course) the good thing that comes out of it is competition amongst the parks to win a title, even if the "Most EVAR!" do come off as a bit manufactured at times. I do propose this though: Who thinks that on the next TPR trip a spoof video should be made with some unsuspecting GP patron who really is afraid of these things. Over the course of the video, you broker a deal that you'll do x if they do y. Simple smooth talk, crazy stunts, prizes, etc. Just as long as they finally over come a fear and ride something allowing you to tape it. Call it Robb the Enabler and i guarantee you it would be a) more interesting than the real thing and b) funnier.

Huh? What does this even mean? I think what he's saying is that it would be suckish if Intamin went through the trouble of building the tower back in Hungary (right?) to make sure it all held up right, but didn't apply the force of the train to make sure that it held the weight correctly. But Intamin's not stupid. Nothey're not, and I'd wager a guess that the tower can hold any number of multiples of the weight experienced with a train. These machines are built to last and support far worse than they're ever going to encounter in a normal run through. This isn't a hot wheels track after all....

I rode it about a week ago and it didn't seem as slow as you'd like to make it out to be. Was it as forceful as always? I can't say for sure. Did I get some nice pops of air at the top of the hill? Why yes, yes I did. With WWoHP, it is nice to see Universal really putting some money into the things that have needed fixing for some time. New paint in Seuss, the lighting package at the Hulk. I will say it was a little disappointing to ride MiB without a 2nd car to go against... but that is more of a staffing thing... I just hope they can capitalize on the momentum they've got going and really bring their park back to what it seemingly was, a real threat to the 'older' Disney crowd instead of becoming a Six Flags.... -

If rumors are to be believed and this is indeed B&Ms first foray into the world of 4th Dimension coasters (eventually), am I the only one who seems them looking for a layout that works both as a "wing-rider" but also not crazy enough so that when things do start to move around, the forces aren't a terror? -
I highly doubt that because Kraken and Manta were both built after all of the IOA coasters and long before their ultimate "owner" was the same entity. It would seem to me that B&M is just out of their price range for what they're wanting to do. 14 coasters sounds impressive, throwing in the price of a B&M can greatly reduce the money left for other coasters. 10 with a B&M? 8? 6? It all depends on what they're doing, and while there are some smaller foot print B&Ms... most of the things they're showing are fractions of the size of most of the recent B&Ms.

If the rumors are true, the village + Forbidden Journey while looking nice is still not that much in terms of a world. As it is now, WWoHP here at IOA is a tad boring as it is a lot of facades and shops with 2 rides re-purposed and a nice new dark ride. Gutting the other attractions that were already there from IOA's WWoHP would be a bit underwhelming, no?

Awesome TR as always. Though, I do question what is funny about the lifeguard eye contact sign? It does read a bit like if they did look you in the eyes something bad would happen to you by them... but.... maybe my years of working in aquatics has me wishing *my* park could have something similar. I swear, in any sort of situation, it is always brought up how "rude" the guard was by not making eye contact whilst speaking with the guest. Trying to explain to this person in an overly nice, polite manner that the guard's main focus is that water and they cannot look away from it for anything and everything can happen in it if they're not attentive... a couple of seconds is a life or death situation. Completely agree. I've been there a few times now and the means to acquire a tube has changed a bit. First time, any tube in the river was good for the slide which worked okay, but they never seemed to have enough tubes for the river and for the slides. Newest way is to have specially colored rafts (ie. Yellow) for just the slide... The last time I was there it wasn't dead, but it wasn't crazy busy and people weren't passing them off when they got to the line for the slide. They floated around with little or no concern from the lifeguards who were posted there to ensure it worked smoothly. It is also a bit of kick int he pants to wait for a tube for the slide, wait for the slide, then hit the river and then be forced out of the tube you have because you now have to wait for another tube, in a different line.... all to relax. -

It is definitely a B&M for sure. It looks like a cross between Kraken and Kumba minus the lack of the Zero G roll. What is in its place is definitely an interesting element. It is kind of like a Stengel-Dive-Turn? Good work though. -
So oddly enough, I just check my email and have a message entitled SUPER SECRET T-SHIRT DESIGN from a certain "kjones@savethebigdipper.org" at first I thought it was just spam, then I realized I had signed up for their mailing list. Oddly enough, this is the first one they've sent. Go figure... Anyway, attached was this.... I'm kind of digging it. Has a real retro vibe going for it!

You know, you really can't write a better story of failure than this.... And, the school idea is an interesting thing... Would be a cool project to build, run, upkeep, etc.... -
I do not understand your post? Or, as Johnny 5 would say "Does not compute, need more input!" Did you not see the picture? YouTube has an option where it will translate the audio in any video and make captions. Everyone was complaining about how the name may promote hunting cheetahs. I noticed that when YouTube translated the announcement video, it said something about shooting President Bush and I found it amusing. Is that a better explanation? It was a joke. No jokes allowed, roller coasters are serious business. And... now TPR plus everyone involved are on some Homeland Security watch list...
