They have been posting of late that both rides have been having trouble and randomly closing them. Maybe it finally vibrated itself into pieces!! -

Glad you got Safari Land, went twice to get it earlier this year and they kept closing early :/ -
^^One big item to point out is how do you know Boomerang is reaching end of life? Is that your own gut feeling? Here is a little fun: Since 1990 dating back to the year these pleasure machines were opened in 1984 (1982 if you want to argue one was standing): Relocated and operational after 1990 - 8 Relocated SBNO - 2 Operating in original location - 7 Currently relocating - 1 Relocated and operational prior to 1990 - 2 What does all of this mean? I can't find one older than 1990 that has been officially listed as scrapped so I doubt the boomerang is reaching it's end of life, these things just won't die.

^Agreed. Anytime you can mix Kodak Film and Dolphins, you've just blown away any other show!! Until now I didn't make the connection, but you're right, she could certainly pass as a celeb lookalike! Shop that photo around and see where it goes! -

$50 to get in is really too expensive. Then all drinks are like 16oz cups and cost 2.75, *if* you can find a place that's open. I think it was Shawn and I that heard two older ladies leaving the park and saying "There is nothing to do here" in disgust. In other words, maybe attendance is lacking due to lack of stuff to do which in turn means cheaping the care. I honestly don't know what to think here. Disgruntled employees could factor in, but like was said earlier, these people do this because they love it, not because of the pay. That aquarium did have a nasty smell but many zoos do. In this case however, it shouldn't have therefore I am inclined to believe that the preponderance of the story is factual. -

^The old man with missing teeth? He was pretty friendly, you could tell he'd been there a while. I too noticed the deer markings and those who looked like they were starving but was refraining from saying anything, but since you did. Ditto. -

Our last day had us up super early and on the bus for Marineland. Marineland is an interesting park to say the least spread out over 300 acres the majority of the day was spent walking. The park has two major benefits, a ton of land to expand on and a consistent theme throughout the park. Unfortunately the park seems to be stuck in the past with outdated pools, aquariums, and eateries. Indication of where we might be today. Indication of what might have brought us here. Indication that we are going inside. Um...I thought this was Marine land. Maybe I should check the sign out front again... Yup, it says Marineland. Very...interesting place this park already. You are not allowed to play Cliffhanger in the park. Seriously, the theme here is really nice. Like BGW nice. Via Wikipedia: Dragon Coaster is the last coaster designated "tallest in the world" that has had inversions (in this case, four) It also covers 30 acres of land. It's HUGE!! (that's what she said) After an hour of ERT we were all ready for a Magical Experience. Are you ready, big boy? It was the equivalent of the magical experience I had on prom night. On our mission to find Marine life, we stopped on the bridge to feed the fish. The park has a ton to work with. Yay! Construction! Let's go take construction pictures! Yay! It's construction! Um, wait, shouldn't they be building something? Elissa said she saw that sign on their last visit, so....yeah, it's been up there a while. Look! Marine pool! It's a whale! Whew, glad we found some Marine life. At this point we have walked like 2 miles, no joke. Therefore we needed to sit down for a bit and enjoy a relaxing ride. No coffee for us. Pretty much you could swing up and beyond the chair in front of you. Win. Fastlane was closed today. So the group, sticking together, literally 40 of the 51 people on the tour stayed together for the entire morning, pretty cool really, marched on. Rainforest exhibit going in. We then stumbled upon some more sea life. I mean wow, 3 miles later. Hey, we weren't told ACE was having an event here today! NOTED! Next the group went into Deersch**** Albino dear? WTF?!? These dear are either well trained or just bullies. Damn dude, you ate half of it!!! That's not an ice cream cone..... It's already dead, no need to kill the poop again. This is where the deer go to d** So coming full circle to the front of the park we find where all the people are And where the whores are Bean is being shown how to be a whore. OMFG It's intense! Oh well, let's buzz on over somewhere else...oh yeah, we can take a 45 minute walk up to the S&S towers. Once we got there and had IV fluids, we were able to take in the views. And could see some mist. And this would be the deer proce****g facility. Beautiful view of the falls, too bad they only had one tower in operation. The tower furthest from the falls looked like parts had been robbed off it. Apparently they didn't like the idea of walking down and then walking back up again... How about a nice show. Begger. Must be some good porn. So yeah Wait a minute, what's this? A cute chick? A cute chick that flies A cute chick who knows how to ride A cute chick who knows who to nurture And who can dance. Yes. I'm sold. Jake, wake up dude, it's not all that bad of a show...it has a cute chick in it! Bye cute chick who I will never get to date And they call him flipper flipper faster than lightning Then Katie came out, and well, I was ready to go. I know, I wouldn't want to see myself either. Anyway, that's it, that's all, there is not more. An action packed 5 days of fun, hookups, and more fun. Great time, great people, great trip. Thanks R&E! -

Wow, well I suppose I should re-do my Marineland TR now as some of the comedy I used may no longer be fitting when I finalize it. I do have to agree with Elissa, if it is/was happening, you couldn't tell it. The only complaint I had was you couldn't find a place to get a drink at 10am in the back of the park. It is older and the tanks are smaller compared to Sea World but the animals seemed happy. -

^NTAG has a totally different track system, the track system used on Outlaw Run has only been used on 'traditional' woodies. That being said, I still believe it will run just fine. -

I'm just glad that combined with technology, parks are realizing which rides are profitable(bring people in, normal routine maintenance) and which rides are money pits(low ridership, high cost of running). And as they do, that just means new, higher quality(sometimes) attractions for everyone to enjoy. -

As part of the media event of Outlaw Run I was invited to a dinner cruise on the Showboat Branson Belle, and I have to admit my gay side here...THE SHOW WAS GOOD! Yes, I admit it. I was treated to the VIP table as they had one seat available (It pays to be single sometimes!) and was offered my choice of entrees and chose a perfectly cooked Mahi-Mahi and a chocolate desert that was out of this world. The show called "Made in America" features magician and comedian Christopher James as the show's MC, the singing group The ShowMen, and aerial violinist Janice Martin, and yes, she really does play the violin in the air while twirling around on one of those sheet looking things. Christopher was a huge comedy hit as an equal opportunity insulter, just my style. The ShowMen were well rehearsed and Janice didn't do so bad herself, afterall she was dangling from the ceiling and all Cruises run daily with a few exceptions through December. More information can be found at www.showboatbransonbelle.com Looks like I'm going on a riverboat cruise. In fact, I'm positive I am. Shouldn't this be on the boat? I think we can do without this, but the other stuff, pretty sure we need it. Just a little bit further And we are on the dock. Honestly it's not all that far from the parking lot. Probably the right spot to be in. That's right, VIP baby. Table Rock Lake is about to be rockin' so don't bother knockin' Our entertainment for the night. You really wouldn't think you were on a boat. Christopher starts off by getting the crowd in the mood. He also likes to play with his rope, stretching, bending, pulling, and cutting. Somehow it always went back to the way it was when he started. It's magic people. Yup, living the high life. Dinner is served. YUMMY! OMFG Delicious! Meanwhile the band played while the peasants ate. So let's go out and see if we can catch a sunset. Epic fail. But I did manage to get mesmerized by the wheel. And then I fell in love. A lady of many talents, she plays piano too. And sings too. I wonder if she likes roller coasters? Ooo look ladies, it's the Backstreet Boys! 2:30 later the show and cruise were over. Awesome experience, I'd recommend it as something 'different' to do while in town! Thanks again to Silver Dollar City for the opportunity. I loved it! -

One thing about renderings is that they are just that, renderings. RMC is taking their time and have done extensive research and development on their own train design and to give anything away(that's not in the press release) right now would be foolish. So much like the mystery surrounding this ride up until the last few weeks, we will have to use our imaginations on what train design Alan has in store for us! -

Just got back from Coaster Mayhem(more on that later this week) and I have to say wow, what a huge difference in park operations not only year over but since opening weekend. The park has made some major changes that have them returning to who they are. And by that I mean friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff which in turns translates to a much better guest experience. As I believe I mentioned earlier this year, the park has started allowing guests into the plaza area prior to park opening which has eliminated the madness at the main gate(it also provides for good comedy watching people running to the favorite rides at gate removal). In addition to letting guests in to the plaza early they have people who interact with guests as they wait for the park to open thus setting the mood if you will for the day. For the first time in several years I found ride crews who were actually having fun and not just pressing buttons and checking seat belts. Also for the first time in quite a while I saw crew recognition awards which is huge in the world of minimum wage. I'll post more of my new found impression of the park, maybe some other information, along with a few photos in a few days. Oh yeah, we never really did find out what all was in that darn envelope and for some odd reason Jessica wouldn't let it out of her sight. What I do know that it contained was the parks 40th Anniversary Logo that was still warm off the press that represents the parks history very well. As for the park map I posted above, yes it's an old park map. Brandon helped to provide us with a red herring for what's coming to the park next year. Sorry guys, you'll have to wait a few more weeks! -

^^^^^I suppose after all the intensity this ride is sure to produce one is going to need a break! I have to put in my vacation by October... I wonder what the chances are that OutRun will be open for WorldFest? Officially the park is saying spring 2013. The train design has been tested so it's doubtful any issues will arise there, so, I would think there would be a very good chance of the ride being open at some point during WorldFest.
