  1. Just thought I'd share that after the construction tour today I was treated to being the first non park employee to ride Road Runner Express for the season. Oh, and it's also now open
  2. Got the weather van, paid for a second and got a stack of burning tires which I used to promptly replace that ugly radioactive statue
  3. It would be nice if next year they re re re themed pandemonium to Jokers Revenge with a repaint and graphics and stuff. With Auqaman across the street looking spiffy it would really compliment the area.
  4. I still haven't figured out what they are promoting this one as other than 'new interactive dark ride'. There is a ton of signage in the park for it and a bat signal outside of the park, mentions in the park newsletter, but outside of the park I haven't seen much promotion at all. In some of the ride stations they will ask if people know about it, and the answers are usually mixed. I hope this does well, it was needed to balance out the attractions list. Un-related: I took a spin on Yosemite Sams the other day, several scenes were dormant in either anamatronic motions, sounds, or effects. Hopefully they will give this attraction a much needed makeover soon (it smells like a moldy 70's basement) and not neglect JL:B4M
  5. Same. The press release stated So apparently that means the vehicles spin and spew while connected to a track. They aren't listed on oceaneering's website as of yet.
  6. I was able to buy Johnny Fiesta which I missed out on previously under this mini egg hunt
  7. At least with the new update the giant ugly radioactive man statue makes money and can be stored. Stored.
  8. Justice League is slated to open late may bizbeatblog.dallasnews.com/2015/04/six-flags-justice-ride-to-open-in-late-may.html/
  9. I'm kinda pissed that you can't remove the giant square of land monument. It does nothing but sit there. But glad this adventure is over, I started to get bored with it about about day 10. They had a winning idea, just no follow thru. Edit: Hippity Hoppity, the Easter Bunny has arrived. Shame that I sent everyone on a 24 hour task! ugh.
  10. In regards to Road Runner Express, it's receiving an extensive overhaul, think Shockwave at SFOT when they did the multi-year rehab on it. In other words, new, new, and even more new pieces and parts. It's all infrastructure work, work that you never really notice or see, but always highly needed.
  11. If you make Judge your first ride at park opening, you will likely get to sit on it for 15 or 20 minutes racking up 4-6 runs.
  12. The spokesperson girl is kinda cute. Too soon?
  13. Because it turned a great ride into a good ride. The best part was going up the lift hill backwards, after that it just becomes blah. Whereas Mr. Freeze RB turned a good right into a great ride. Launching backwards adds to the experience where freefalling backwards just does nada. Was it more intense? I didn't think so but I'm sure science would disagree with me. I could have ridden it for three hours straight on preview night, but most people were one or two and done. I fell into that category and was all, ok that was cool, off to Giant. I think I rode it one other time last season outside of preview night and only because there was no line.
  14. Derek has that "I'm going to drink your blood" look today. That or he just saw the hooters girls arrive with trays of beer. One or the other.
  15. I read elsewhere that this morning riders were greeted to metal detectors at Incredible Hulk and RRR. Seriously, WTF? Might as well install TSA body scanners.
  16. Always love reading the blog, thanks for sharing. Further I'm glad the community continues to support which in turn allows for some really cool expansions to happen. Wished I lived closer!
  17. And with that the tour thankfully completes. That is unless that rebrand it as Htailog and Eripmav for La Ronde and Fiesta.
  18. And hopefully it will never be seen at the park again...
  19. I hate to say I agree.. I think its a neat idea in theory, and it does look awesome traveling up the lift backwards, but it's to disorienting to really like IMO.. It's another reason I'm afraid to revisit SFSTL or SFOT, because I've not rode Mr.Freeze since they turned it into reverse blast, and I'm afraid it'll drop out of my top 5. I actually LOVE Mr. Freeze turned the unoriginal direction. More umph and excitement than before. The super long lines of happy riders never seem to cease.
  20. ^OzCat was built site specific, relocation isn't likely. The queue gates, parts of the control panel, and other items were used on Outlaw Run.
  21. Compared to years past I can see how, they are humping it this year trying really hard to keep everything flowing.
  22. Since Texas schools are mostly in session the crowds are much lighter the second week making it the perfect time for Oklahoma spring breakers to come down, the side effect is that most of their staff is in school reducing some rides' capacity. Unfortunately Giant only has two trains that are operational, black and red. The third train, blue, is in annual rehab.
  23. ^ Welcome! I tried to ride in the backseat of Freeze alone last Tuesday (3/10) and was asked to move up a row. Just my .02. That was also my first time visiting SFOT and I have to say I was really impressed. You guys have a solid ride line lineup, everyone was very friendly, the park seemed cared for, and I thought that operations were pretty decent overall. Yeah, looks like I just got lucky. The park has made some dramatic changes in operations since Apple retired and it shows. I like what I've been seeing.
  24. Which is why he was sought after I'm sure.
  25. To try and answer your questions, Saturdays are generally busy but April 11th probably not overly busy. Leaving midday is a good thing as that is when the park will hit it's peak. If I were you I would ride Pandemonium out of the box as its a lower capacity ride that often gets waits of 45 minutes plus. From there Runaway Mountain is not far and would suggest that being your second stop, although late in the day the lines on it diminish quite a bit. La Vibrator is a crap shoot on when it opens and often has issues throughout the day. However once leaving Runaway Mountain I would cut through JB's BBQ and place myself at Gold River which will likely be the last of the super long lines outside of La Vibrator. Heading from Gold River depending on temps the log flume would be a great bet as it will drop you off next to La Vibrator and a few other flats on your list. (Rodeo is on the way but sometimes has a late opening as does Roaring Rapids) The rest of the rides on your list shouldn't have a painfully long wait. Shockwave is a great beginners looping coaster so while you're at the go-karts might as well give it a try. Runaway Mountain is basically a carnival coaster thats indoors, custom made, just not on the level of space mountain. Judge had some major work done this winter and will likely be her top choice. Have fun
