  1. I'm thinking Big Tex Bash myself, hint hint
  2. ^ Ha Ha, I'm only screwed from Jan 3-Mar 11
  3. here's something random. Prepared fresh avocado salsa tonight with jalapenos. Note to all, thoroughly wash your hands multiple times after handling hot peppers, and for goodness sake, don't go to the restroom if you have jalapeno juice on your hands, the results will be devastating. Let's just say, I now know what a friend of my felt like will rolling around in the forest with his GF, those weren't just any leaves they were rolling around in, and the poison ivy made it's way to places that I will leave up to the imagination.
  4. I think that's one of the worst POV's I've seen in some time. I think the speed is about right, especially if the trains before this one were heavier, the ride would launch faster, plus, the camera shaking doesn't really help in making any determination.
  5. my brain translated the above
  6. I didn't see that, tho from the pics I might be glad I didn't! Sunday they had some puppet show going on across from Yosemite followed by the light show. I had heard from others at the park just what you described, that it was packed to the walls Saturday and that wait times were insane. Kind of makes you wonder why at least Batman wasn't running. I can understand Mr. Freeze with the cost of running the ride, but Batman? I'm guessing it's part getting a start on annuals and part staffing level issues for closing some areas, but that's just a guess.
  7. ^ plus In-N-Out isn't a franchise. I doubt the family will want to make a mega investment to not be open everyday, nor anyone else. It just doesn't make good business sense. The SF chain needs to develop their own unique menu with the possibilty of adding some of the same items off that menu at each park as more or less their own franchise, something distinguishable. But at the same time, having several items unique to each park so as not to have a Papa Johns or Johnny Rockets flood, thus creating a draw that people will want because it's the "best they've ever had"
  8. ^^hmmmm, not sure really what to think of that. I mean I'm a classic car guy, my father painted the coupe in American Graffiti, and used to paint kick ass flames on cars, this, I'm just gonna have to reserve judgement until mounted.
  9. So that's what real actors are, my life is complete
  10. Thanks for sharing, I really find these types of reports intriguing
  11. She's probably thinking to herself, well, this sounded cool, and has now resorted to banging her head repeatedly against the counter resulting in the inability to retain information for final exams.
  12. Your Welcome! I had a great time. The different menus are extremely welcome and the lines, even tho the parks wasn't real busy, were steady, which tells me they are really missing out throughout the year on these types of setups. And the food I tasted was tasty to boot! I'm on call the weekend of the 18th and can't leave the area, so I will be jealous! Enjoy the food, it's tasty!
  13. Ok folks, here's Part II, all at nighttime with the sparkling lights and whatnot walking up from Titan towards Spain I found some new friends who wanted their picture taken. Told them about the site and club and to take a look to see their pic the former Mrs. Fields Store. this area is by Yosemite Sams Gold River and is choreographed to music by the trans siberian orchestra speaking of Yosemite Sams, have you been in it? It has some real interesting adult humor injected into it, so if you haven't ever rode it, do it, and be cool more yummy food! So why is this my favorite S&S, hmmm, tallest, combo, or my first. Probably my first, and as many of us know, we always have a special place for our first so in honor if being my first, here is another shot midway going towards the main gate and then on to spain weeeeeee this area is closed, so don't go back there. Actually, they open up the flying thing a few days, but not no coasters and not today i couldn't resist santa's land where you can go in and talk to santa I suppose and getting closer to the end of my journey I have to give Judge Roy some love, I hardly ever do in a PTR, but today, all lit up, I decided to give him some Justice and a little more love, but now, time to make our way back to the entrance, the night's almost finsihed up front we find the giant christmas tree dancing to music so we say goodnite to SFOT. Thanks for a great evening!
  14. Hello TPR peeps! Having told myself after my trip to Cali that I would stay home and save money for the next few months, self said, sounds good, then brain says 1 month later, time to ride again, self didn't hesitate and I made a one day trip (4 hours each way) to SFOT for opening weekend of Holiday in the Park and it was worth every minute. Got to the park Sunday 11/28 at 4pm and made the rounds taking pictures. The park was virtually empty from the time I arrived until I left around 7:45. The lights were twinkling, employees were singing including on the train ride, holiday food items were plentiful (and good), and all rides except for Shockwave (line out the ramp with one train) and Superman (two tower ops) were literal walk-ons. Perfect way to end a long Holiday weekend! I took about 300 pictures of which you will say maybe 15% of them of which I'm breaking it down into two parts. Part I Welcome to Six Flags. The one enhancement I think they could make to get the line moving would be to mirror that of Magic Mountain and have the metal detectors way before the entrance gates. Doing so would increase traffic flow IMO. So, SFOT if your reading, hint hint From the parking lot, Titan is running strong as is the bobsled Inside the park and straight ahead you will find this years Christmas Tree which is full of LED lights that we will see later This is the best time of the year as they roll out food items not normally available. yum 2011 Bottle Pricing This used to be Cartoon Candy Kitchen More yummies. They had deep fried oreos, candy bars, smores, the holiday food offerings were endless This is really what I'd like to see all year round, tailored to the season are these little booths everywhere, gives it a much different atmosphere Tony Hawk is still spinning the singler rider line was slower than the normal line today More delicious food, and yes, the burrito I got was in fact good. My favorite S&S I posted several Texas Giant Pics in the TG thread, but in case you haven't made it there, here are a few teasers I would highly suggest you take a look at that thread, you might just see most of the teal train put together in the center maintenance bay From the train we got a picture of snow hill, and I have to say this was fun. With all my weight behind me I felt like Chevy Chase Mine Train! Wave everyone! *sigh* closed for the season:( opps, forgot shockwave, packed full of awesomeness, I should have went their first, as it got crowded mid evening and Frosty! Mine's Bigger and to end Part I, a sunset shot of Titan.
  15. ^ We can always rent a helicopter!
  16. ^ At SFOT, they have soooo many different and unique food options during HiP its crazy, they should really keep pace and do that same thing throughout the year changing with the season/holiday. Deep fried anything, Gyros, some sort of burrito taquito thingy. I'll have some pics in my TR. Trying to work on it....at work as time allows.
  17. I think I was sporting a chub taking it all in, it's been 6 weeks since my last visit and I was ready to walk up the stairs and hop on! A few more things to note now that I'm awake. There appears to be no track left in the parking lot. All of the remaining track that I was able to see is located next to the ride by the NFW OMFG verticle turn, which, makes sense! The "magic carpet" looks stellar, especially with the lights bouncing off it at night. Also, it doesn't look like they've started the catwalk in places where they've noted it will be, but that shouldn't take too long to install. A little more than 3 months until opening, I'm confident after looking it over yesterday that they will make it. To me, it makes sense to get one of the trains loaded on the track to check for issues in the maintenance bay as well as begin any training the mechanics may need. They could also use it to set sensors in the station, etc. I'd say realistically, mid to end month the track work will be complete
  18. So as mentioned befoe by a previous poster, the spinning Tony Hawk at SFOT is missing, other than that, the GP wouldn't know Tony was about to make his final spin. Also, a Mrs. Fields that was put in just this year, is now re-themed. now you see it now you don't Now you see Mrs. Fields... Now you don't.
  19. Ok, so I made an 8 hour round trip drive today, and I'm exhausted. Special thanks to Robb and Elissa for posting the original pics off of my cell phone. Stupid Plam WebOS, wouldn't let me attach a picture, guess I'll have to write an app for that. Anyway, here we go. * Edited to include larger pics. **Edit - In honor of Robb adding this to his facebook, I'm adding three more pictures to the end of the post! I took over 300 photos tonight, and the 8 hour drive was worth every minute to see the trains on board! The front car appears to still be missing, but the equipment is in place to lift it into position. Notice on the transfer track the wheel stops at the end. I couldn't get a real good angle, but don't see brakes or drive motors inplace on the transfer tracks. I'd hate to think they were going to push these beasts in and out! But as we all know, that won't be the case. The OMFG! First Drop new electrical and sensor going in
  20. herthey have loaded most of the teal train on the middle transfer, can't post a pic via my phone, stupid palm, but will post hi res pics late tonite!
  21. I can confirm that tony hawk is still intact at SFOT. Will have a PTR posted later tonite or in the morning. Video screen, posters, etc still hanging around sporting their Tony Hawk theme. I will have to double check, but also think the giant spinner is missing as noted above
