  1. First, a belated Happy Birthday, Robb! Second, also sorry to hear it was not an optimal day at the Mountain. Third, may I also suggest some content-appropriate word filter alternatives for "tits:" 1. "Airtime hills" 2. "Double Dips" 3. "LSMs (Lovely, Succulent Mammaries)" 4. "Super Happy Smile Fun Lady Parts"
  2. ^I always thought the B&M stand-up trains were pretty awesome. Heck, I LOVE B&M stand-ups (well, the huge ones and Georgia Scorcher, though it's been ages since I rode GS).
  3. Wait, WHAT?! A new stand-up coaster? Britney's "Baby One More Time" is playing on the radio, the Clinton Impeachment trial is winding down, I just heard another Y2K joke... Did I time-warp back to 1999? Freaky, man...
  4. Wow. Those castle shots are indeed spectacular. I won't judge WWoHP until I finally get down there again, but even the shots of the Port of Entry (which are also beautiful) remind me of how much I really love that whole park. Not perfect by any definition, but damned close in some respects. Missing Orlando pretty hard right now...
  5. Beautiful shots and very entertaining! I have never been to this legendary park, and I eat up with a fork and spoon any and all photos; thanks! Looking forward to the video reports and the hotties!
  6. Derp... figured out the difference and favorited. Interwebz are hardz to get edumacated wif da tricky fings it gotz!
  7. Just watched again, just "Favorited" or "Liked" or whatever. So tragic Ultra Twisters seem to be totally over. That turnaround looks like a "twist and dive" on crack, acid, speed, and more crack. And some other drugs, too. Wasn't Premier once talking about launched Ultra Twisters? Where are our launched Ultra Twisters!?!??!
  8. Mamma-freakin'-Mia! That ride is INSANE! My jaw was on the floor nearly from start to finish! Why would anyone put themselves through that?!?!? ...I'm speaking, of course, of the bizarro-Chinese version of "It's A Small World..." That Ultra-Twister, on the other hand, looks awesome.
  9. ^Yeah, please do! And thanks for the camera info. One of these days, I've got to upgrade to an SLR digital...
  10. Digging the seck-say-as-hell black train lead car VERY MUCH!
  11. These really are some choice photos. What kind of camera did you use?
  12. You know what would fit great in this park? Martin & Vleminckx's launched wooden shuttle coaster. WANT!
  13. "I know, right?!" [Green Lantern trailer reference] Something about her does things to me... Also, must agree that Ice Bat's mad playa skillz put mine to shame. Respect. [Gotta go on a TPR trip some day. Gotta ride Prowler some day.]
  14. Just got caught up on this thread; the Alpine Coaster looks like a TON of fun. The heat's not working in my offices today, and my hands are really cold - helped add a level of "You Are There!" to the video.
  15. Man, seeing all these beautiful "non-park" shots hammers home, yet again, why Disney really is the bomb. To this day, I've never set foot anywhere near the Polynesian Resort. Big mistake, obviously. Re: The Contemporary - even though the name is getting a bit awkward, I do hope they keep the main tower just as is. Preserving Walt's vision of what "modern" meant feels like a neat thing to do.
  16. Even in "hibernation mode," this looks like a kick-ass place. And yeah, what a backdrop! Utah does rock some of the country's best scenery. Shane, you're living the dream!
  17. Man, I hadn't looked at these in awhile and had forgotten how many hilarious choices there were. But I had to go with Prince Rez-mond in Tron just because I love all things Tron (and its beautiful execution), and "All Your Donation..." for the superlative graphics work and hysterical meme-pwnage. But really, great work by all! EDIT: I just watched the whole "All Your Donation..." animation again: ROTFLMAO! It gets funnier with each viewing.
  18. Now that I'm thinking about it, I seem to recall that BBW actually used some of the footers that had been placed for the Schwarzkopf suspended? Is that accurate? Also, EFFING MEGA-COOL that Stengel thought suspended coasters could still be made practical. Some day, maybe...
  19. Man, that snowmobiling looks like fun cubed. Schnawesome!
  20. No, he meant what he said: first successful. As in it didn't tear itself apart. That is indeed what I meant, good sir, and I very much appreciate the correction! I had totally forgotten about XLR-8 (an easy ride to forget, amirite?!). Must agree that BBW was a FAR more entertaining ride than XLR-8. I'd also add that even if BBW was not the very first Arrow suspended to have a successful career, it is still historically semi-significant. So I'll still have warm feelings towards Wolfie for that reason.
  21. I don't know that I'd have called it a "starter coaster," but in my experience, I could get my non-dork friends to try it and they'd be scared, but they'd like it, and would want to re-ride. Not so on Nessie, or any other major coaster at that park.
  22. First, very entertaining thread! I'm a terrible skier, but the winter ski scene is beautiful. TOTALLY recommend this as well. Years ago, we did the lower half of the bobsled run at Lake Placid and it was insane. The Gs through the turns were beyond sick. Blows away any coaster I've ever been on. Love seeing a little kid discovering snow for the first time. Adorable.
  23. Yet another (useless) opinion: I do miss and will continue to miss the Wolfster, for a few reasons: 1. The historical semi-significance. After the Kings Island Bat debacle, BBW was the first successful suspended coaster. That's kind of cool. 2. The non-enthusiast rideability factor. BBW was a ride that I could take almost anybody on. Friends who really didn't like big roller coasters could ride this and enjoy it. Always great to share a passion with people that aren't quite so deep into it. 3. The freaking awesome teaser commercial the park made back in the day. I think I saw it at an early ACE CoasterCon, but it was produced before construction was well along, so there were no shots of the ride itself. Mostly just POV footage of flying through the trees a few yards off the ground. Then an "American Werewolf in London"-inspired scare. One of the best coaster 'mershes ever. 4. I just love suspended coasters in general. The sensation of swinging out around the turns is a great one for me, a fantastic emulation of soaring flight. SFMM's Ninja is far from the best ride at that park, but it is very high on my list of must-rides when I'm there. (KILLS me that I missed Eagle's Fortress!!11!!11! Hate! Anger! Pain! Arrrgh!! ) 5. The uniqueness of the layout, with the opening dash through the village and the big final drop. Love or hate it, you must admit that it was one of a kind. Just my two cents. (I do have a good feeling that the ride replacing it will more than make up for BBW's removal. )
  24. Sea of Trees is awesome; nice shots! (Next big windfall, Ima hafta pic up that camera...)
  25. On topic: There is no emoticon that can accurately portray my burning, carnal lust for the new Texas Giant and its new trains.
