  1. I'm glad to see that Win is now available with extra added Awesome, as this report is full of it. Model parents in action. Well done.
  2. ^Let the sleuthing begin! Yeah, that is one fine piece of property right there... If we're putting together an "Impossible Wish List of Dark Rides To Recreate," I'd like to add Disneyland's old "Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland." Not strictly a dark ride, and not scary at all, but boy, as a kid, I ate that up. BTMR is awesome, but I still miss Rainbow Caverns a ton. I was at AstroWorld while the Alpine Sleighs were still there, a long time ago, but for the life of me, I have no recollection of riding it. So whether I did or not, it sucks hard either way that it's gone.
  3. ^ (But seriously, if that IS your house, well done, sir. ) RIGHT ON! Don't even get me started on this... Okay, so a seaside location, perhaps? Yeah, that would be highly approved.
  4. That is pretty damned exciting. At this time, is there some hint about where they might be looking to build this... whatever it is they're conceiving?
  5. This is truly a major "WOW!" Despite the clunky Google translation, this sounds like it could be seriously neato. The world should have, nay NEEDS, more Luc Besson-creative-directed dark ride/rollercoasters. "Fifth Element: The Ride," "Taxi: The Ride," and "Transporter: The Ride," next please.
  6. Kuka arm sculpting Kuka arm... so meta it's making my head explode. "ACE booth" caption in strong lead for funniest so far. LOL'd very hard. "Big Fun" concept in strong lead for awardiest so far. Wanting very hard. Haven't watched the videos yet, but IT'S ALL GOLD. Muchas gracias!
  7. Um, could somebody get that super-hot blonde TO MOVE OUT OF THE DAMNED WAY?!?
  8. Shot of Manta car = day made. SECK-SAY!
  9. This is very, very cool and it's no surprise that Disney is on the forefront of rolling out this kind of technology. Does some of it freak me out a tiny bit? Yes. How many years from now before we're offered the chance to have an RFID chip implanted under our skin? Still, until then, I'm on board, and really, this gets us one step closer to a cash-less society, too, which will be awesome.
  10. More nice shots! And re: the yellow grating, shouldn't all toilet bowl slides should feature that? /immaturity.
  11. This guy clearly hasn't ever ridden Numerator. I put Numerator over Denominator. *RIMSHOT*
  12. Have said it before, saying it again: Discovery Cove looks super-freaking mega-awesome. Has to be built into my next trip to Orlando. The shots of you two with the dolphin are incredible. (BTW, read/heard somewhere not too long ago that dolphins are the only other animal that have sex for simply for pleasure. Which is just one more reason that they kick ass nonstop and worldwide.)
  13. ^^Europe does seem to have a ton of very cool dark rides that I'm dying to check out. ^ But I agree that the "old-school" Pretzel-style classics with bang-doors, and honky-tonk "flash" out front, and all that are just unbeatable. Coney Island used to have a bunch, even back in the '80s, and it KILLS me that there are almost none there now. I miss Dante's Inferno at Astroland so much. ^^^I'm also heartbroken that I never got to ride Kennywood's Le Cachot.
  14. ^ Totally! The night shots of Carsland made me utter an audible "wow." It's like I've died and gone to rockwork heaven.
  15. Totally loving this thread. Perhaps a "National Dark Ride Museum/Refuge" is an impossible dream, but I'd gladly donate land/money/pick-up trucks if I had anything to offer. How does something like that get started? My copy of Doug Higley's "Scary Dark Rides" is just about ready to fall apart from over-reading: http://www.lulu.com/product/hardcover/scary-dark-rides/792254
  16. "The Penguining World of Harry Penguin" looks amazing. Can't wait to hear the "ride" details, but they don't really matter much. (Runs out to buy advance tickets for "Happy Feet Two.")
  17. Dude, seriously mad props for having the stones to make this trip when you did. As Danny Glover would say, "I'm getting too old for that sh*t." On the other hand, your report and POV footage are filling my mouth with want-bile. That does look like one super-fun little coaster.
  18. Damn, this looks like a very cool fair! Love that it's in a dense forest and the coasters look most unusual; nice!
  19. This stuff never gets old. Some part of me wishes we could go back to a time when a $2 million Arrow four-inversion coaster was a big freakin' deal. And should I admit that I used to have a huge crush on Tennille? Probably not, right? So, yeah, I totally never did...
  20. The bobsled video gives me strong stirrings in my want region. And man, you know modern cruise ships are huge, but with the perspective of these shots, WOW. Holy Jebus, that thing is gitanic. Can't read these cruise reports without eating something anymore. The ravenous hunger they create would otherwise kill me.
  21. It really is a shame Morgan is no longer. I finally got to ride Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood this summer and it was a blast and a half. Agreed that their trains are mighty weak, but Mamba made me see spots a bit on the mid-course helix and the Pacific Pier West Coaster is fun!
  22. Seeing is believing. And, yeah, It's running like the wind! NIce!
  23. The zipline video is killing me. I want to try that right now.
  24. It's been said plenty already but I must add: gorgeous shots of two stunning waterparks. Professional work, all the way through. Quit your day job. Unless photographer is your day job. As an easy burner (redhead curse), I'm not a huge waterpark fan, but these two are impossible to resist.
  25. Just to be clear: I LOVED BBW. And I was very upset to hear it was getting removed. But Verbolten is looking quite fetching and awesome and loaded with dark ride goodness. This makes me very happy. I will never speak of BBW and Hypersonic-Excel-See in the same sentence. Except for that one I just did.
