  1. I love it: the year SOB finally gets torn down, inversions on woodies turn out to be the hottest thing to announce.
  2. The Antartica vehicle... the Outlaw Run cars... the Parrot flyer... the Backtrack... that S&S freefly variant...
  3. ^I'm just a super-fan of everything Japanese, so the overall level of Japanese awesomeness in these reports is what I'm enjoying, even though I know we aren't hitting all these same parks/sights on the 2013 trip. That said, I'm also very much looking forward to all the trip report segments in China, Korea, and Taiwan, too. Asia, in general, rocks.
  4. Damn, I am SO READY for the Japan trip next summer. Enjoying all this so much; thanks again!
  5. ^LOL, that is AWESOME. How can I license use of this photo for my own Christmas cards?
  6. As a fairly recent convert to Air Racers, I say congrats to you folks Down Under.
  7. Has there been any interest in your "Splinter" concept?
  8. For the hundredth time, probably: this kind of outside-the-U.S. trip report is one of the main reasons I love TPR so much. Fascinating, fun, a little mini-vacation. Any park that has more than one dark ride is aces already, so the tantalizing DC area aside, I'm much more interested in visiting that I ever was. Again, great report, thanks!
  9. Are you still open to the idea of/doing any development work on a launched 4D coaster?
  10. All in; this rocked last year, so glad we're doing it again this year!
  11. Have you ever considered, or been asked to consider, a re-engineered version of the "suspended swinging" coaster?
  12. How did the idea for your Iron Horse track system come about?
  13. Are there any "long lost" wooden roller coasters that GCI would love to resurrect specifically, if only for their own amusement?
  14. First, great idea for a thread topic. Second, I had a bunch of awesome highlights, but certainly among the very top few was the Water Challenge at SFOG/Deep South Bash on the Georgia Cyclone. I was laughing so hard, I thought I would rupture an organ. Damn, that was fun, and the beers before certainly helped. And then ERT on Goliath after? That was a good night.
  15. Enjoy your awesome giant robot facade, Florida, you over-privileged bastards. BTW, the new moderator banners look awesome!
  16. ^A great relief to hear. Coming to this last photo update late, but wow, beautiful. As always, thanks so much for the continued progress reports!
  17. GREAT work on this fantastic report! Loving all the detailed descriptions and the photos. There's just too much awesomeness in here to comment on specifically; looking forward to the next installments!
  18. Fantastic report; loved the photos, esp. the shots of your hotel! I'm very impressed. This park has long been way up on my wish list, but has moved even higher now.
  19. Dude! Are you hittin' it to coaster porn at work? Even I don't stoop that low. Much. I tossed my dignity out the window a LONG time ago. This POV is bonkers. Are we looking at the best ending to a roller coaster ever created?
  20. Seconded, extremely. EDIT Also, Brad Bird, totally! (I need to read more better sometimes.) Incredibles, and MI3, which I thought was a very solid series entry. The action direction in that was stellar.
  21. Texas/Midwest is hard to say no to, but I can't put off a trip to Japan any longer. IT BEGINS.
  22. Co-workers can overhear me making noises while looking at these pictures and they are assuming I'm watching porn. They are correct, in ways they do not understand. Chadster, you are a demi-god for bringing us these updates.
  23. These Food and Wine festival reports always kill me. And yet I keep coming back for more punishment.
  24. Finally read through this entire report, and I made sure I was eating while doing so, because I knew there was going to be a lot of hardcore food porn. And I'm spent. The Animator's Palette experience looks spectacular (won a THEA award, BTW). For that alone, I'm sold. But throw in the Ahi tuna and avocado stack, the peanut butter mousse (OMFG), and the Space Mountain waterslide experience (OMFG), and this is clearly a can't-miss trip for me. (Also, I'd never heard of sea lice before, GROSS: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_louse) Kick-ass report from start to finish!
