  1. ^ I agree. I go to Wisp Resort in Maryland frequently, and their alpine coaster is extremely quiet in summer and winter. I don't know if the neighbors around it complained, but they'd be stupid to do so (at least because of noise).
  2. When they announced Helix, I nearly crapped my pants. I wanted to go on the Scandi tour so bad, but it's just not possible financially.
  3. You took the words out of my mouth! Except, I don't remember the name of my "Mexican child bride" as my friends called her. I also drove 500 miles for the Wacky Worm (called Yoppin') at the North Georgia State Fair (at least that's what I told the ride ops), and I talked my way onto the Dragon Wagon at Funtown Pier a few months before Hurricane Sandy destroyed the park.
  4. ^^ I would say no. There's not really a good place for it in the park, and the wind from the lake would be a huge issue. If you ride Windseeker, it gets windy enough at that height. Could you imagine the wind 200' higher?
  5. I'm hoping Kings Island will make the ride look nice with this retheme. It's bringing a lot of nostalgia for the folks who rode the original Bat. Besides, the ride wasn't the best looking during its later days.
  6. ^ Cedar Point will NEVER want the second tallest when they can have the tallest. I wouldn't put any money on CP building a new drop tower when they still have Power Tower (which still gets pretty lengthy queues).
  7. That first drop is going to be sexy as hell. I already can't wait to go back and ride it!
  8. Even though it's not my all-time favorite, it's the best new steel coaster I rode in 2013 (and also the only one I have a picture of on my iPad). The incredibly awesome MontaƱa Infinitum at La Feria Chapultepec Magico in Mexico City. No trims, sexy curves, and classic Schwarzkopf goodness. Taken back in March during the TPR Mexico Tour.
  9. The old steel Wild Mice scare me big time. You really do feel like you're going to fall off the side. Skycoasters scare me too, but I still love them. Top Thrill Dragster can get me scared sometimes as well. The only type of ride that scares me so much that I won't ride them are haunted houses with live actors. I've done two of them, and that's two more than enough to last me a lifetime. I was drug through the one at Six Flags Mexico during the TPR trip, and I hated every second of it.
  10. If they got the new SLC trains like Morey's did, it would probably improve it dramatically. I can't stand SLCs, but I found Morey's to be very enjoyable. It was rough, but it was a fun rough that didn't hurt.
  11. I've only ridden Voyage and Ravine Flyer II. I LOVE RFII. Voyage beat the crap out of me and left bruises.
  12. ^ Agreed. The weather tends to get interesting this time of year!
  13. Big Bad Wolf - BGW Steel Phantom - Kennywood Disaster Transport - Cedar Point Kennywood's former dark rides Gold Rusher and Old Mill Dizzy Lizzy - Idlewild Jaws - USF Son of Beast (with the loop) - Kings Island
  14. I bring the usual wallet, keys, and phone as well as a glasses strap, a glasses case, and a clip to keep my keys attached.
  15. ^ I don't know what SLC you rode at Canada's Wonderland, but when I rode it, I found it to be the roughest of all the ones I've ridden. It gave me a bruise on my chest that didn't heal for weeks.
  16. I've ridden several of them, and the only one I actually enjoy is Great Nor'easter at Morey's because it had the newer Vekoma trains. All the others vary. Some aren't bad (Batman at Six Flags Mexico) and some are really terrible (Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland). I try to ride each one with an open mind, but I usually walk off of them pretty beat up.
  17. ^ Good idea. Their tumble bug is better than the one at Kennywood. Conneaut Lake runs it so much faster.
  18. Painting parking lot stripes. This sounds like a Six Flags plan. They'll probably put a special "Parking Lot Stripe" gift shop to walk through too.
  19. ^ Agree on Ninja; disagree on GASM. Ninja is awful. GASM is wonderful as it is.
  20. I really like the lap bars on the new trains. The Millennium Flyer's lap bars can really dig into the stomach sometimes (especially when you get those ride ops who insist that the bar is three clicks down farther than it should....), but these look wonderful.
  21. Bat/Flight Deck is a really good suspended coaster. Iron Dragon was designed to be much more family friendly than a lot of the other suspended coasters, and I don't know about Ninja.
  22. ^ That's just adorable! Now I REALLY want to go to Christmas Town. Hopefully I can find the time to pop down there for a weekend.
  23. ^ I had the exact opposite situation happen to me three years ago. I LOVE Legend, but Voyage beat me up so much that I was in pain for days. I was really disappointed with Voyage because of it. I do want to give the ride another chance in the future.
  24. I've always been a fan of Gwazi (hence the username), but I'm a glutton for punishment. Lightning Racer and Kentucky Rumbler would round out the top three. I really enjoy Thunderhead, but it beat me up pretty badly the last time I rode it.
  25. ^ I've never liked it either. It showed how lazy Cedar Fair was with the former Paramount parks.
