  1. Actually, both are true. I just got a personal email from Dick Kinzel and he said that they're actually cloning every piece of steel used on X-Flight. The original is going to PKI and the clone is going to MIA. It's true. Dick Kinzel told me. OMG it is reproducing gee what wonderful news. And going to one of my closest parks I am so happy.
  2. ^so what is the purpose of building rides if they only help for a year. Second why do they keep rides if they no longer help attendance. Your logic is flawed. What I was saying if it is so popular and so interesting as to where it is going then why was it not drawing lines at the park. I do understand that rides draw the most the first year, however the good rides at any park have the longest lines (and not just because of capacity issues . MF and TTD still carry hr long waits on my visits this summer so I do believe CP would not do as well without them.
  3. I can't believe there has been 11 pages of discussion about who gets a below average, capacity nightmare Vekoma, that was at a good park which almost no one went to, hence the reason they moved it. If it was so fantastic wouldn't there be a reflection of that in attendance.
  4. ^except CF had nothing to with Timbers except slowly make it rougher.
  5. I have to say I would be shocked if it ended up at PKI. They already have a massive amount of coasters and are only two years from Italian Job. I am beginning to get nervous that it will be MIA.
  6. Happy Anniversary guys, looks like you are having a great time. I actually think we may be spending our 4th anniversary with you all next year.
  7. I have to say as a rule of thumb it is always good when a attraction no longer smells of pee.
  8. I have to say I am shocked at how many people enjoy this ride. The first time I rode it I thought it was ok, but on ensuing visits the slow loading, uncomfortable restraints and general routine of the ride made it seem progressively worse on each ride, to the point that my last couple visits I just skipped the ride. Now this is not one of those my opinion is right things, I am just surprised at the love of this ride considering most people I talk to felt about the same. Sorry for your guys lost I will be happy to cast my vote of any CF park except MIA for this ride to help you all out.
  9. As I read this I am not surprised by the move since, as said, GL comes no where to drawing enough people for this many rides. Heck they actually had to cancel their Halloween event, which was good. That being stated I pray to heaven that X flight does not end up at MIA. MIA is pretty close to my house and a park I actually enjoy, but I hate that coaster as it is one of the few on my no longer ride list. If they move it there I will have to go again since it will be there. To be honest I wish they would have just scraped it. I enjoy GL and have always like the layout and awesome views of the lake. It makes me sad to think that eventually there will not be a park there, but I agree with Robb, it's only a matter of time.
  10. I didn't like it at all. Falls on my list in the bottom ten all time. I don't miss it at all. Sorry great pictures though.
  11. IMO they can't get rid of them fast enough. Never a real big fan of these rides and I had also heard maintenance is getting pretty extreme. I like the freeness of a drop tower, though these always scared me a little more. If you really like them I am sorry for your loss.
  12. ^its on our thanksgiving to do list.
  13. Notice the word ASSUMED. Yep I have been to what was SFWOA,SFGADV, SFKK, SFOG, SFDL,and SFSTL. However when I first went from casual visitor to enthusiast I just assumed that since my SF was good they all must be ok. I know now that is not the case, although I am definately the SF hater that a lot of people seem to be.
  14. It has always amazed that SFGAM seems to be so well run. When I first started this as more of a hobby I just assumed all SF parks were fantastic because of my experiences with this one. Great old photos and I love the park model.
  15. I also had two great rides on that also. I am not sure where the complaints are. It just seemed fast and wooden, definately not smooth, but I could easily put multiple rides on that if they would have been loading faster.
  16. Son of Beast and Viper at SFGADV. Nothing else is even close.
  17. I felt absolutely nothing wrong with Balder. I also enjoyed both Rides on Gwazi and think Raven was running great this summer. Timbers has gotten rougher, but one train was way worse than the others. Maintenance is a big issue, but sometimes they just have to bang a little its all in the style you like. Me I would prefer rough and exciteng, which is why Predator sucks so bad since it is boring.
  18. Indiana Beach so I will say Cornball Express.
  19. Man that ride was awesome. I can hardly wait til I go back to get massive rerides on that thing.
  20. Great clip although now I have cabin fever worse than before. BTW I am not sure which one it will be but I am sure Reality TV is leading toward Armageddon.
  21. I agree with the idea of your posts Robb and realize Premier did a bad job, that doesn't really change the fact of how far in debt they are and how adding rides recently has not helped. Add to the fact that it was said they will not be adding a new coaster, yet half of this site is mad because it was not a new coaster. Now I am definately not a show guy and I have no idea if this is a good move, I guess I am curious what people think it should have been. Had it been a coaster we might have been happy, but wouldn't we also be saying I knew Shapiro didn't mean it or see SF really has not changed. Just my 2 cents.
  22. I have no real interest to see a Cirque show, but I do think it could keep people in the park longer as it is a well know name. What I find funny is all the people who expected a ride even after Shapiro has said there will be no huge additions for awhile. For those who say this won't bring in the people like a new ride, if that was the case why is SF in such financial peril considering they have done nothing but put in rides for the last 15 years. What they were doing before did not work and as much as we enjoy rides we should realize they have to try something new. Success or failure on this endeavor will take time but at least its a different approach.
  23. I have not rode Starliner so I appreciate the chance to ride it someday in its new location. However judging from the comments coming from people I respect I am not expecting much. I do feel that an old ride does fit in with the park, however saving a ride should be cheaper then a new one and judging from their figures isn't that very close to what Beech Bend paid. I am guessing a "Florida Rumbler" would have been a much bigger hit.
  24. You would be correct on that piece of knowledge. I guess I owe you a prize when I see you in Spain.
