What is your next park?
KDcoasterMAN replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Good question... haha Probably BGW or KD soon. Was just at Hershey this weekend so.... Definitely hitting Dollywood in August! -
^ Your in luck. I went and saw The Amazing Spiderman last night, 8 o'clock showing. First of all, if your a fan of the originals like I was, you may walk in with the expectation that this one will be worse or not compare. When Andrew Garfield was casted as Peter Parker, I had many doubts. But, something I always had in the back of my mind came forward with this film. I never really liked Tobey McGuire as Spiderman. He is a very talented actor, but he has excelled in other roles like in Seabiscuit. Andrew Garfield excelled in this role. It fit his personality and honestly he was more original to the character from the comics. But this isn't about comparing one thing to another. This film is a whole new creature entirely. As everyone knows, it's a reboot of the franchise under indie director Marc Webb, starring the Social Network's Andrew Garfield as the flying web-slinger, The Helps's Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, and Rhys Ifrans as the masterful Dr. Curt Connors. This film, wonderfully shot with some fantastic visuals, gives the audience one heck of a thrill ride. Though the story does have moments when its seems to almost jump, it mas many enjoyable moment like the already released clip of the car thief scene. The romance between Peter and Gwen has amazing chemistry. On Rotten Tomatoes, The Amazing Spiderman is holding a 72% freshness rating with the critics and an 84% with the audience. I would give it a 86%. I also saw last week, Brave, another Pixar visual masterpiece. Where this film had beauty of Pixar and some of the heart, it didn't have the greatest of twists, but it still provided a wonderful period piece, and one of my favorite DIsney characters with Merida. It definitely worth a trip to the cinemas.

I would put a big wager that the park will be crowded on both of those days. Especially at night with the fireworks. The preview is well worth it, only though when the crowds are light. I went to Carowinds on July 5th once, and will never go to a park around that time again. It may be wise to wait longer if you can, maybe next week. Skyrush's line isn't too bad by that time of night, same for SDL. The best bet for most laps would be to head to the back of the park to Lightning Racer, Wildcat, and Storm Runner. But, with the fireworks, I couldn't guess where the crowds would be. Fahrenheit's line is shortest in the morning. Last Saturday it was a 20min wait with about 15mins to the park's close. It is only one use. The system did not look too efficient, though I did see a group immediately get to ride Comet without a wait. For $55 on a extremely crowded day it may be worth it. But if you plan your visit accordingly, then you can avoid the crowds and get an incredible trip. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

While at HersheyPark: In regards to Skyrush..... Oh Ok. I guess it can be described that way. -

The only complaints I heard was GP saying the noodles were too tight. With the nature of the hydraulics, the noodle is going to depress further down on the pullout after the first drop. It happened to me every time. I don't see it as a problem, just apart of the ride. The squishier noodles provide some conformablility to the rider's legs, but not too much. Its my personal opinion that Hershey sure does have a real winner on their hands, but not one that all people will enjoy. With the ride's nature will come complaints. Like i said above, it's very intense. ^I doubt that the ride can get a softer noodle without sacrificing safety (disclaimer: only my opinion.) -

Just got back from an incredible weekend at Hershey, I'll post a TR late hopefully with some photos, but I want to answer some of the Skyrush questions. Is the ride rough? - To me? No. The outside seats, as said before do have some bounce and slight vibrations in the transitions but otherwise the ride is wonderfully smooth. The new noodles. - The new restraints do make a difference. They are softer (squishier) than the originals. From a distance, its hard to tell the difference but up close you can see the wear and tear on the originals while the new one look barely used. But I doubt the original noodles will be on that train for long. Actually rode with a few ACErs on both of my rides and both identified a drastic difference. I will say these noodles still have the ability to "thigh crush" but nothing that isn't tolerable. This coaster is intense, heed the warning if you cannot handle intense coasters. This is easily one of the most intense coasters in the country I would wager. -

I went a few weeks back on a Sunday. If you're there when gates open, you should be able to hit a lot of the big coasters early. We arrived at 9:20 (gates opened at 10 a.m.). In the two hours we spent at the park that day (stayed until noon), we hit Skyrush, Great Bear (2X), Storm Runner (2X) and Fahrenheit (2X). I can't speak to what the park was later in the day, but those first couple hours that day were mighty sweet. Hope this helps! Thanks man! My friend and I are gonna use the Hershey Preview on Saturday night to get the two longest lines (Skyrush and Fahrenheit) done then and then ride our hearts out Sunday morning. Hoping for a decent day on Sunday, crowd wise. But I'm not holding my breath the weekend before the Fourth of July.... can't help but cross my fingers though! -

I remember watching a coaster documentary film when I was way young and Great American Scream Machine at SFGAdv was the programs feature coaster. It was "fastest and highest" blah, blah, blah. When I saw the show I really wanted to ride it, I told myself I would ride it one day. well... that never happened. lol. -

Prometheus. Visually stunning, and sci-fi driven horror film that brings out some of the Alien anthropology mysteries out into the open. Its a movie about discovering the past. Its also kinda about creating the future. With these two story lines correlating, we truly get to see the many sides of human nature. The script was way more grandiose than it turned out to be but still accomplished its goals. Its a movie that gets down to the basics. Life. Death. Living. Survival. Bravery. Fear. All wrapped in an almost neat package. Many things were left for interpretation and many questions were left unanswered. Its no Alien film, though it is its beginning.

From what I can gather from the story, the coaster will take up a good chunk of space... EDIT: wrong pic
