  1. True but it doesn't matter because remember, if they really want to do this and its possible they will find a way. Maybe its going to be one huge launched coaster as said, maybe it will be two completely different attractions....who knows...they do!
  2. The really irritating thing about that is sometimes it seems like there is no reason to be dispatching that slow, then when you see its because the ride ops are being lazy, goofing off, screwing around on their phones, or just not paying attention it is really frustrating, and all you can do while you are standing there in the long, slow moving line is wonder why, why does it have to be like this....WHY!?
  3. Thank you for saying that, I feel the same way! I've only ridden it a few times recently and 30 years ago when I was a kid, fun times I will always remember. But now its time to say goodbye to LJ and just let it go, and keep the good memories of it. Bickering and arguing about it will go nowhere....its gone...move on, the park is so everyone else should too. Its never coming back ever, so be excited for what will take its place, I am.
  4. While I'm sad to see LJ go its exciting to wonder what they have in store for that spot.
  5. Please post a link, having trouble finding it on my phone.
  6. Why would they get confused? One park is on the west coast, the other is in Illinois. And I will bet a lot of people that go to CGA on a regular basis don't even know about the other park or even care. "Great America" is the perfect name for it and I don't really see a problem with people confusing this park for one that is across the country. And even if they do....so what, maybe the "confused" people will visit CGA more thinking its the other park and raise attendance...lol
  7. ^If something cannot be confirmed then is it not simply just a rumor?
  8. I feel the same way. If they do something about it then fine, if not then oh well I don't really care, I will still ride and have a great time. Yeah its kind of stupid its that way but...so what doesn't really affect anything so it does not bother me at all. I just think its kind of funny there is no landscaping and this complaint has gone on for, like you say, years and years....its almost comical.
  9. Obviously they do not or are too lazy to.
  10. Good then the talent is doing a great job. Also... That's really frikin' stupid, how dumb are these people? That's part of the nature of this event, if they don't want their spoiled, precious little bratty kids scared then DON'T GO!......dumb people. Too bad you can't threaten them for just being dumbasses. Just once I would love to say to these morons....... "Really, your stupid little kids got scared?....well DUH! That is what is supposed to happen. Obviously you don't bother to read signs or have any kind of grasp of what goes on or is supposed to happen in a given situation so you do not need to be here. Take your crappy liitle kids and get out you idiot!" These must be the same people that complain about it raining during winter, or it being too sunny during summer, or complain to the mall Santa because he said he would bring their bratty kid stuff for Christmas......(again).....DUH!
  11. I worked there the following year and I remember all of that stuff. Those costumes were pretty bad, luckily since Barney O was my home ride I just had to wear blue overalls, not bad at all. But because I was also trained to run panel at Grizzly, Demon, Berserker, and Triple Wheel, I would often be pulled to work one of those rides to cover breaks and everybody else had to be in the awful uniforms and there I was, looking like a ride mechanic, it was pretty cool and funny at the same time.
  12. Grizzly used to have one brown and one black train.
  13. It would not matter if there were so many trashcans that it would be impossible to find one less than a foot from anybody in the park, people will still throw trash on the ground. But, at least with more the chances of trash actually making it into the trashcan are improved. ^Yeah I've seen stuff like that before too. Lazy people go to toss their stuff and miss the can, so it falls on the ground. A lot of times they don't even bother to pick it up. I don't do that, I walk over and put it in the can. That way I never miss and I figure if I leave it on the ground someone has to pick it up, and I don't want to cause that to happen to someone else because of my trash. I mean really, how hard is it to get up, walk your lazy ass over to the trash can which can't be more than 4 feet away, and PUT YOUR TRASH INTO THE CAN!......Seriously!
  14. ^That is correct. I ride opped The Edge and Ameri-Go-Round, among others, and Drop Zone is in the same area as Ameri-Go-Round once was. The Edge used to be in the area where the Go-Karts are now, right next to the service road that runs behind it. Bottoms Up used to be in the area where that big tent thing is, by the little games area there. Berserker replaced something, I forget what. But you can see Bottoms Up and what used to be in Berserker's spot in this old photo... Whizzer is at the top in the middle, then to the left is the food building (today there are games to the left of that), the round thing left of the food building is Botooms Up, left of that is another round thing which is a 'mystery' ride which is in the spot of where Berserker is now, just right of the Demon entrance and lift.
  15. So its automatically the pilot's fault even if the plane had a sudden, unforseen mechanical failure? Or maybe the Ferris Wheel jumped in front of the plane making a collision unavoidable? Or better still....it was a terrorist attack!
  16. The coaster would use LIM technology to climb the lift hills instead of the cable. Like Maverick at CP does. The problem with Deja Vu is that the cable system is very unreliable, and takes a lot of mainatence to keep working, and a lot of this would be fixed with LIM lift hills instead. But seeing as Vekoma just installed another one of these in China, with the same cable system, i don't think there is a good way of getting the LIM system to work just yet. Cost of operation wise, would LIMs/LSMs be more costly to operate as they use more power than the cable lifts? They might save a ton on maintenence but wouldn't daily operation be more expensive due to the increased power consumption?
  17. I remember the commercial jingle.... "At Windsor Waterworks you're gonna get.....wet"
  18. How does it stop AND keep on going at the same time?
