  1. ^They better fix Lex's track if they want to run that ride!...lol
  2. So when the train overshoots and hits the train in front of it is that when they decide to pull one off?
  3. Seatbelts could have helped prevent this, but so could just leaving the girl off the ride to begin with.....I'm still waiting to hear the results of the Hopi Hari accident from a few weeks ago myself though. I thought one of the news reports mentioned it has seatbelts and lapbars. Oh wait, nevermind...lol
  4. I agree and the owner person never once apologized for what happened, whether or not it was anybody's fault doesn't matter, at least show a little compassion- for a 3 year old girl! And for that I hope he gets his ass sued! Thankfully she seems to be recovering well. Strange that she apparently met the 42-48" height requirement yet somehow magically slipped out of the ride. And the owner blames that on the fact that she was not riding with an adult (again trying to blame the girl rather than take responsibility or at least have any kind of compassion)....how does that make any difference? Is the adult going to hold the child in the ride- isn't that what the restraint system is for? Now lawmakers want to push through tighter regulations on carnival rides......yeah ya think? News report with idiot owner... Video only... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5KGKAAHp-8 Thinking about it more I have to agree with you, the ride op should have stopped the ride, an adult should have been on there, shoulda shoulda shoulda, but the scary texas oil Cowboy guy (lol, love that) doesn't really seem to care about the girl at all, seemingly no sympathy or concearn, at least publicly, for her well being. Now if you ran a place like this and had something happen like this that was all over the news= bad press, besides at least being HUMAN wouldn't you also do everything you can to at the very least portray to the public and the news media that you give a damn and are genuinely concearned? Or is this just how things go down in Texas?
  5. Idle speculation is the lifeblood of TPR. We gotta do something until an official announcement is made. My schoolwork isn't going to put off itself! Lol, I completely understand. Also its kind of fun reading what people think its going to be, some of the ideas sound really interesting and some are, well.... I am in no way putting anybody down for having an opinion, I just find it entertaining at times....myself included. Well at the very least the park for sure has got people talking, which is a good thing.
  6. Its funny, worrying about all these things like track color, theme, too many supports, can they pull off a giant loop, and nobody even knows the layout or what type it is or....anything. It just needs to be fun, that's all, and I'm sure it will be.
  7. Thinking it will launch through the tunnel, loop over it and the mountain, and continue on with maybe 10-12 inversions total.
  8. If it is themed then that's a bonus, if not then oh well, whatever, as long as it's a fun ride I don't really care about such things- kind of ruins the fun worrying about something silly like if the ride has a theme or not.
  9. Some amusing quotes from the SFDK Facebook page regarding this photo... Gotta love it!
  10. Way to go LAtimes, print a story based on what "an employee said"...
  11. just got this e-mail from the park.... That's all fine except I will be nowhere near the park when BTR is there....NO FRIKIN' WAY!!!
  12. I need a towel... or three... Imagine that- Revolution with no backrests, OTSRs, trim brakes, hard braking... wait- as Anton intended it to be. And oh how dangerous it must have been, too... Dangerously fun, exciting, and RIGHT! This is why I love to watch 'Rollercoaster'.
  13. That is awesome....even the crappy animation at the end!
  14. I would suspect that they "haven't taken advantage" because they have a contracted construction company to put it up, with contracted dates, that the contractor has scheduled to dovetail along the end of some other project that they have. While it would be nice to say that the park is doing the erection themselves, I would submit that it is unlikely that they would either a) have a dedicated construction crew on staff for the short time that they're doing construction on new things or b)pull their entire maintenance team for construction, leaving the rest of the park without maintenance during construction. Granted, it's just speculation, but would seem to make sense to me. The park maintenance team is only for that....park maintenance, they are not the ones building the ride. Six Flags/SFDK will have several contracted companies doing this from the steel crew building the ride to electricians to everything in between and everybody's schedule has to mesh. There is already a set schedule to get this all done and there is probably no visible signs of anything happening because this is really a small ride that will go up quickly. Add to that the fact that they pretty much have a blank slate to work with, a nice flat slab to put the ride on, it's not like they need to rip out a bunch of trees or flatten some hills or anything. There could be delays or unforseen circumstances but it should not take that long at all.
  15. Saw this on Screamscape, this is typical and kind of funny at the same time if it comes true... Six Flags Great Adventure Giant Drop may be added to Kingda Ka Wow, that is just crazy.
