  1. How about the world's tallest pretzel loop
  2. How does that just not totally fall apart.... its amazing! THIS, just because of its sheer height and massive support structure
  3. Medusa west "B&M Loop of Death" Zonga, multicolored loops in a maze of steel supports Superman: Ultimate Flight with the amazing gravity defying track! Goliath over Colossus Scream! And the interlocking corks Revolution (with Tatsu in the second pic) and threading the needle
  4. Its not that anyone on this thread particularly complained he just said he sympathized with the people who he had to force off the ride. Don't feel bad, they deserve no pity. THEY may not but the kids (through no fault of their own) who don't get to ride because the adults can't and wont let them ride do.
  5. I think it could easily be filled up with many, many pictures as there are so many different rides, elements, and structures, it would almost be never ending.
  6. I find it amazing that they can turn a mass of steel and several hundred parts into an extremely enjoyable ride. And some of these ride structures, like recent really tall Intamin coasters, look like a work of art in themselves. I think the coolest looking ones are the lifts, top hats, and airtime hills that have no supports under the middle or tall section of track. You look at that and think "how does that not fall apart?" Then there are the ride vehicles..... oh my!
  7. I can second that. Whenever larger riders would try to pull it down they were stapled in, and a lot of times it would not go down far enough to lock. I always felt bad for these riders because we could not allow them to ride.... it sucks when you have to deny someone something like that.
  8. Well it did just get two brand new trains and a new braking system so some things may need adjusting.
  9. Working Grizzly and riding it numerous times over the years I never understood the thinking behind the linked lap bars. Obviously it can cause problems but what is the benefit? Certainly not safety wise as if for some reason the lock fails in a car the lap bars open for four riders! At least with a lap bar for each rider IF a lock were to ever fail it would be isolated to that one lap bar, and obviously there would not be these problems with loading. When I gave my spiel I always had to add "please do not pull down on your lap bar until everyone is seated" but that was pointless because nobody paid attention.
  10. I hope so!! I hope it's changed to a date I can make! The page also says this... But, if you go to the SFDK page through the SF site, SFDK S:UF it says opening soon, and at the bottom says opening late spring 2012. So maybe they have run into an issue and need to push back the date, OR, maybe they are a little ahead of schedule and may open it sooner.... hmm.
  11. One car has two rows each with two seats. Each row of two seats has one lap bar. As stupid as that and the seatbelt thing is there is one more really annoying, stupid thing- BOTH lap bars are connected together- wtf you say? Yes, BOTH lap bars in each car are connected together, you can imagine the problems that causes.
  12. I really, REALLY wanted to see this sign so I fixed the link...yay Oh noes something is wrong here! To the MM ride ops allowing it to flip... and
  13. Thanks for the response, much appreciated. I'm very glad to have confirmation that what I assumed was hogwash actually was in fact a load of crap. And a big, giant, steaming load at that! Just out of morbid curiosity could you post the link where this comment was posted? I may want to have some 'fun' with it later.
  14. It could be that this person is a moron and if the ems really was there it may have been for something completely different. Did this person actually see these people get wheeled from that ride? Maybe these people had pre existing health issues....who knows?
  15. Haha, if you are going to go that far then give them real guns!
  16. How about the horn from an oil tanker you can't get much louder than that - The trains should also be themed to cars and have horns as well that will honk as they tear around the track along with sound effects of crashes and sirens blasted out of strategically placed speakers around the coaster, heck lets use the old speakers from the pictorium - Road Rage could be it's name And the park would not send all of its trash to the dump. Instead, it would take some of it and give it to the riders so that as they make the Prudential turn they would throw the trash at the building! I know it's silly but I like the idea.
  17. It's probably going to be August or Early September like most announcements. Only taking this like a grain of salt but I had heard something from the CedarFairParks Facebook fan page about June 13 that CF will be announcing their capital investments. We'll see. I don't know where their sources are for their information. About around the time the groundbreaking began, something was also mentioned from them that we should be hearing some kind of announcement in the following month (being June). Yea, I don't know. I'm not going to fully believe what was said but will keep my eyes peeled for that date. On one of the photos Robman posted earlier, I noticed that Patrick Henry Dr. had a huge (covered up) trench leading right up to CGA's site. I wonder why the road would be torn up. It could be for some kind of utilities or for the drainage system which may tie into that from the park.
  18. Add some extremely high powered fire and water cannons too!
  19. "Timberline Express" Or how about... "The Wood Coaster That Cedar Fair Finally Decided To Put Into This Park!"
  20. "Cheesecake Factory... never heard of it"...LOL!
