  1. Yeah Ninja is fun, but it's not scary fun. It's really a good acclimation coaster. And then maybe Revolution, it's like a leisurely trip through the woods with a loop, which is fun and not scary. If you keep your head back you don't get bashed as much.
  2. A tree limb? Wow, that must have been a mess. It did look like they had been doing work on the 3rd revolution train. We did see maintenance working on the Morgan trains on Colossus and the Psyclone trains were also still there. One major difference between the two Revolution trains was the black train would stop hard at the final brake run, almost to a crawl, where the other train did not- I assume from new parts on the black train. I rode the black train several times and it was like that each time.
  3. Also noticed the colored 'stripes' on the top of YOLO's loop, they looked intentional, not like a repair but like they were put there for some other reason as they seem to be perfectly spaced and different colors. What are they for?
  4. Went for a quick visit yesterday and finally rode YOLO, it's actually a really fun ride but wish it was longer. Wanted to ride Namtab and Colossus but surprise.... both were closed. . Rode Revolution a few times and besides the logo (forget which company it's for) I really like the look of the black train, this must be the recently rehabbed train. I rode in both trains and you do notice a difference between the two.
  5. Ha, that is the perfect description for that element! I felt like it was close to total weightlessness-I'll put it this way, my butt was totally off the seat. I could feel my thighs against the lap bar but that was it-it's as if the car was just stopped upside-down, that's close to what it feels like. With no over the shoulder restraints, it's amazing. Best part of any coaster I've ever ridden by far. Thank you for that explanation, that really does sound amazing.
  6. "This element must absolutely piss off gravity" .... LOL!!!! I have a question. When going through that element while you are upside down do you feel like you are totally weightless or do you feel like you are being pulled down (or up in this case) into your seat?
  7. Six Flags Great America. I'm basing this on the fact that CGA is still not stable with their finances yet and removing an asset on their property for future development doesn't seem like a smart move at the moment, especially given that they just purchased Goldstriker a year ago. There was never an issue with the parks finances, it was an issue of the old Cedar Fair management neglecting it because they thought they were going to sell the property and demolish it so the stadium could be built. Financially, they were fine. After researching it a bit I appear to have my facts incorrect. This also reintroduces one of the major questions I have about the park, which the debt issue was a long excuse for: Why does the place so dang crappy and ran down for a major California theme park? I know a lot of parks could use some TLC but this one is one of the worst offenders for what I feel like should be a well maintained park. Going to Discovery Kingdom is like night and day compared to CGA. CGA is actually a nicely maintained park, they keep up on painting, planting, and maintenance so I don't understand how it could appear crappy and run down. Have you been to Magic Mountain lately? I have, actually. It's a shame that Magic Mountain operates the way they do and a lot of their really good themeing is starting to get bulldozed over, but I still stand behing my thoughts that CGA needs more work. Some of the work they've put into it is actually quite nice but I have this memory of visiting last year of sitting on the drop tower there. The restraints were gross and old, the pavement under the queue and ride was cracking, the queue sun canvas was really old and ripping, and the ride really needed a paint job. It felt second rate, and that was only one example. It just seemed, I don't know, worn down. Needing some TLC pretty badly. It looks like they're trying but it seems like a new effort; like, what took them so long to realize that the place needed work? I agree, it's not perfect and still does need work but they are getting there.

  9. Well when the right project comes along, whatever that may be, then it's going. It doesn't do the park much good right now except to serve as storage and a maze location. A new attraction could serve the park and it's guests so much better there.... at both parks.
  10. The Pictoriums at both Great Americas have run their course, time to remove them and use that space for something new and exciting. Which park will remove theirs first?
  11. I don't know if this ride will have these trains but I was just looking on the RMC website and thought this was pretty neat, it actually has a suspension system. Plus it just looks really cool. This company is awesome..... "The Craft of making the coaster"
  12. There are soooooo many different reasons why this would be a horrible, horrible idea.... - Different maintenance required on two different tracks of one coaster. - Different support structure needed - Different track type needed - Different control system needed - The confusion of your average guest - It's simply not a good idea to begin with I could continue the list, but this a horrible idea. -The confusion of your average guest........ LOL!!!
  13. ^That's too bad, I would have liked to see a properly shot POV video with no shaking or rattling. There are no shakes or rattles in Robb's POV mounted cam videos which makes them 1000 times better and they look so good-it's very professional and really gives you a better sense of what the ride is really like.
  14. ^It actually is a thing, I won't post the link to their site but you can Google it. You know, I get that some people love Colossus the way it is and would like it to stay that way. But what I think they don't fully understand is that if the rumors are true, this could be transformed into something really incredible, like OMFG amazing! I admit, I don't want to see it go, but I REALLY want to see this rumor come true! Park icon? Sure it is, but it could be even more so than ever before.
  15. Ok, if it's possible I will. Thank you Robb. And I understand about the banning, you have to do what needs to be done to protect yourself and the integrity of this community, it's unfortunate but that's really their own fault.
  16. Ah man that's too bad, they posted some good stuff. I would love to do updates and stuff as I am not that far from the park but due to my work schedule it would be nearly impossible. I haven't even been able to visit yet at all so far.
  17. While I would love for this idea to come true I have to agree with you about the video and join in with face smashing!
