  1. It all comes down to your personal perception of the experience. Mechanically some may be different but it's how it feels to YOU that really matters, none of this other stuff really does at all.
  2. I think what it is (for me anyway) is the drop is very intense, but it's so high and so long that as you are free falling you get used to the falling so it becomes kind of meh near the bottom. With shorter drop rides, you experience the intense drop during the full duration because it's shorter and you don't have time to get used to the free falling.
  3. They could have accessed the stairs pretty easily, and if nobody was paying attention.......... Throwing this stuff off the tower, man, people are so stupid!
  4. It's really sad and surprising that you had to go to that much trouble just for some water! I mean it's almost ridiculous. It's hot, it's dry, of course guests are going to want/need water that's a no brainer. I just can't believe the park seems to not see this as an important thing for their guests- fresh, clean water not that festering drinking fountain of death water either!
  5. Yeah but when was the last time a CGA coaster was ranked good in anything? Either way, this could be a positive thing for the park so in that sense this is a good thing and no surprise, GS is an awesome ride.
  6. Agree. Apocalypse has gotten really rough and Colossus has somehow gotten smoother. (Not smooth, but smoothER.) Ive really enjoyed my last few Colossus rides and cannot say the same for Apocalypse. 100% completely agree. I took my very first ride on it in the early evening before WCB night ERT started, and didn't even care to go back to ride it during ERT. When I was in the queue, I looked closely at the track to see (and hear, it was squeaking in the turns) that there was no grease on it. When it opened as Terminator in 2009, I guessed it would get rough in less than 5 years due to poor maintenance, and I guessed right. It felt like the train was running on octagonal wheels (by 2015 it will feel like hexagonal wheels, and by 2020 square wheels considering how poorly maintained it is as of now), and I got off with a headache and feeling like my spine had been compressed. I'm NEVER riding it again until the highly unlikely event (it's SFMM, what do you expect?) of a major retrack, and expect to only see reports of it getting rough to the point of being unrideable. Really hoping CGA takes care of Gold Striker the way they are taking care of Grizzly now, as I would hate to see it get rough as well (I've got my hopes up since CGA has a proper off-season). I don't think you have to worry about Gold Striker, CGA does a good job taking care of their rides. SFMM on the other hand, well......
  7. Huufington post, swing ride accident Never thought a power loss could result in guests "falling off" one of these, don't know if I will ride one of these again.
  8. Ahhhh, and here I thought a bunch of monkeys were responsible for this
  9. I saw that before too, in a motion type theater like the F/X theater but don't remember where. I do remember the seats moving when you bumped into things in the movie.
  10. Grizzly is like a leisurely stroll through the woods, it's nice but nothing exciting.
