  1. The park operations today though were pretty bad, especially on Intimidator and Volcano. Volcano and Intimidator were both down when I went this morning, so I went on The Crypt, Avalanche, Anaconda, and Flight of Fear a few times. Intimidator finally opened, but they made the most asinine decision by only operating one train all day, so lines got pretty backed up on that one. Flight of Fear was a walk-on in the beginning of the day, so I made sure to ride that about four times. Volcano's lines after it opened were approximately two hours (probably because they were only doing one train). I also think it's incredibly idiotic that Avalanche and Anaconda were running two trains today, while I305 and Volcano were only operating one. Wouldn't it make more sense to operate two trains on roller coasters that are extraordinarily popular and actually have lines? I probably didn't get to the park until around 1pm. Volcano's line was probably around 30-40 minutes and was running 2 trains. I305's line wasn't too bad by the time I got there even though it was running 1 train. I waited about 15 minutes for the back seat. On lightly crowded days I don't think it's uncommon for 305 to only be running a single train operation. I left around 2pm after riding Dominator a few times, so I definitely didn't see them put the second Volcano train on, but around 11-12, it was definitely just operating one train. As I said before, I305 and Volcano had some downtime when the park just opened.

  3. Shockwave really isn't that bad though. The only real pain I experience is some leg strain in the helix. Also, did they do work on Hurler? I rode it today and it wasn't NEARLY as brutal as it was last year, it was actually quite fun! Grizzly is a little rougher though...
  4. How is the game play for TPS? Is it at least somewhat like a tycoon game? Just curious.
  5. I love the "Janice it ain't funny!" line XD
  6. Did this happen at Kings Dominon? I said something very similar earlier...A "dad" called his own son a pussy for having second thoughts about Dominator ...Could we have witnessed the same exact thing?
  7. I won't get in to a lot of your comments because I don't have the time or energy, but I will say that most test seats are fairly worthless. I've had plenty of times where I fit in the test seat and couldn't get on the ride after waiting an hour, or vice versa. Different seats on trains have different sized seat belts, so it can be a crap shoot whether you'll be able to ride or not. Hell, last summer I rode Raptor at CP. About 2 hours later we went to ride again and the seatbelt was about 5 inches from clicking. 2 hours later I didn't have any issues. Like I said, it's a total crap shoot. A lot of test seats are rather inaccurate. I'm a 46 incher and I could not fit into the test seat of the Crypt at Kings Dominion, but on the actual ride, I fit with absolutely NO problem whatsoever.
  8. I agree completely. When I was a little kid, my parents never forced me on big scary rides because I would get scared half to death. Now, I'm obsessed with those types of rides, but I still hate it when parents have the attitude of "You're riding this whether you like it or not!" Why can't they just find something more suitable for them? One time at SeaWorld Orlando, when I was about to ride Journey to Atlantis, the whole ride was delayed for five minutes because one little kid was screaming at the top of his lungs "I DON'T WANNA RIDE!", and they spent those few minutes unlocking the restraints to get him out. While thrill rides and roller coasters are awesome, you shouldn't force someone that young that doesn't want to ride it to ride. But then again, sometimes if you try it, you'll end up liking it. My parents sort of forced me to go on Steel Force when I was 9 and that basically completely eradicated my fear and fueled a true love for roller coasters. A bad experience with the Dominator put me off of drop towers and launched coasters, but after riding VooDoo, StormRunner, Maverick, and the three launched coasters at Kings Dominion, that fear went away as well. I'm not scared of drop towers, they just give me the butterflies my first time riding one. Then again, I totally know where you're coming from, on my second trip to KD, I saw a guy call his own son a "F***ing pussy" because he was having second thoughts about Dominator.
  9. 42? That is no age to die.....RIP Clay Jones
  10. Morgan hypers are pretty good, I enjoyed the one that I went on (Steel Force) so it's nice to see them get back into the game of coaster-making.
  11. I know that I've said this before in the GP forum but I can't freaking stand it when people look at an Arrow or Vekoma looping coaster and say "OH MY GOD FINAL DESTINATION 3" I, no joke had that happen to me outside the entrance to Anaconda at Kings Dominion. This chick literally thought that Anaconda was the coaster they used in the movie...
  12. In a sick twist of coincidence, that's going to be my summer trip except I'm going much earlier in June.
  13. On the flipside, we have tiny little indie gaming companies making what I feel is some of the best games of the 21st century, Pantera and TPS included.
  14. I think they meant that they know that we want the official Roller Coaster Tycoon 4. For Chrissakes, we've been waiting TEN YEARS. Hard to believe it but it's been a decade since RCT3 came out. Atari wants us to cool our jets and stop with the vitriol, but to reiterate, we've been waiting a decade for RCT4. If you're promising that the PC version is completely different, we want details. Back up your claims.
  15. It seems that I never truly mentioned how much I LOVE this park
  16. Exactly. Plus who cares if the final released product isn't amazing. With the amount of modding support that has been promised the fans will almost assuredly turn it into a completely different beast within a couple months. I just hope RCT4 isn't just a dumb facebook game but the future for the series looks quite grim. I hope it isn't either, because look at Theme Park Studio. You really think that a stupid little CoasterVille-like game would be able to compete against that?
  17. Jesus Christ, that would be quite a thing if it does turn out to be true, a coaster presumed scrapped since 2006 has been secretly operating under our noses for years....
  18. A.J, I'm siding with Robb on this, You can't expect such a small, indie gaming company like Pantera to be able to release games at the same pace that Activision does COD or Ubisoft does Assassins Creed. Those are much bigger companies than Pantera with more resources and employees. Nevertheless, I'm still stoked for the full release of Theme Park Studio because I backed 50 bucks on kickstarter.
  19. We're going to have the REAL RCT4 very soon, Theme Park Studio.
  20. It really is a shame that Skyrush has such crappy restraints given the awesomeness of the ride itself. I rode it last summer and didn't place it in either the "pleasant" or "unpleasant" categories as, basically, I was amazed by the intensity and airtime of the ride but then very disappointed by the restraints which stop it from being my no 1 ride. I do really wish they do something about that. I really like the restraints to Skyrush, you get so much upper body freedom that you actually get scared because you're only being held in by your legs....God, my first time on that ride was one of the few times I was actually scared when riding a roller coaster. But I loved it.
  21. I should consider myself fortunate that I still have an SDC Hurricane at my home park, Adventureland. I agree with you guys, Hurricanes are really forceful rides, they only go around 35mph, but during the ride you swear that you're going 50mph. The "teardrop" element after the first drop is packed with Gs and you would swear that Hurricane is a Schwarzkopf.
  22. I backed 50 bucks so I can't wait until the full release to when I finally have it in my hands
  23. Jesus Christ this is going to bring back some less-than-good memories for my mother
