Bush has been trying to combat teen pregnancy by funding abstinence education at the federal level. So, I don't really think this example illustrates a distinct difference between the parties. The key difference is that the dems tend to support more than just abstinence education. It is a far more realistic approach. Notice I said MORE THAN. Meaning abstinence is still the goal, but it also gives kids information on what to do when they decide to have sex. It helps limit pregnancy and spread of std's. Neither of which is doing all that well under the current abstinenece only education. Also, it would be great for parents to teach their kids this, but that isn't working so well. Many parents tend not to do it at all or will give kids flat out wrong information. Exactly, the Democrats feel it is the Federal Governments responsibility to solve the problem. More inefficient government, more money down the drain.

In a interview this weekend Obama pretty much summed up why I'm not for him. He was asked his views on abortion, he is pro abortion. It was what was said after that gives me the reason why I won't vote for him or most Democrats. He said the the government needs to do more to combat teen pregnancy. That's funny, I thought that would be a parental issue. What happened to personal responsibility? For me that is what differentiates the two parties, the Democrats feal that the federal government is their savior. The federal government can solve everyones problems, retirement, health care, education, etc. These issues really should be solved at the local level. For the record, neither party is doing a bang up job in Washington.

Awesome as always Chuck except I was hoping to see a little blood in the cage match! -
Amen. There's finally someone on here that speaks my feelings with such eloquence. Now that is what is embarrassing. As soon as you don't get your way you want to cut and run. Did you ever think that if Obama isn't elected in November that the American public got it right and your wrong? Of course not, it is the American way to cry foul. Maybe you should think about getting involved more, convincing people Obama does have substance and isn't shallow instead of threatening to move out of the country. It is to bad that Streisand and Cher didn't live up to their promise to leave the country when Bush was elected.

Hard Rock / Freestyle Music Park Discussion Thread

I remember when DCA first opened that they had the same hours as Disneyland. The park was empty late at night. Now they open later and close earlier. I think the park can make it but it probably needs to be a seasonal park. But I better make plans to visit soon just in case. -
Ok, here is the difference. If Obama is elected we are going to get more government and higher taxes. If McCain is elected we are going to get more government and higher taxes. I'm voting for BeamerBoy!

Best hand I have ever had is a straight flush to the 8 of spades. I only play with friends, never online. I don't see the point of online play unless it is to practice. It gets rather boring if there is nothing at stake and when playing for money online I don't trust it. You could be playing against bots, friends working together or someone using a program giving him the odds. I have played at casinos a few times but the people are way to serious for me.

Defunct North Korean Water Park
gisco replied to The Angry Darren Mullins's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
An issue or two ago in I think the ACE publication there was an article about the North Korean parks with pictures. Pretty interesting. Most of them are pretty run down. Most Noth Koreans don't have money to spend on leisure and there is not a lot of tourism so I can understand the conditions. -

Nice report. I liked Oakwood and the Crystal Maze. The Tree Top Coaster in the dark would be a blast. Some nice pictures of Megaphobia and Speed. Be sure to submit some of those to the Park Index. -

In 2007 I did Universal and Disney Mid June and it wasn't to bad. Stayed on the property both places. I highly recommend that. Very convenient. At Universal your key is an unlimited Express Pass. Well worth it. At Disney, your room key is your park ticket and charge to your room card all in one. The charge to your room feature is very nice. There is almost nowhere you can't use it on the Disney property. All the restaurants, shops and even the little snack and drink stands take it. (There are a couple in Epcot that didn't) Saves from having to carry a lot of cash around. Based on your available times, September may be best. Right after the Holiday. Crowds shouldn't be to bad because school is back in session and the weather is nice. You will only have to worry about hurricanes and I wouldn't worry to much about that unless you don't like rain. I think the parks pretty much stay open unless it is headed close by. A day or two of rain and its over.
