  1. Well considering how late it is in the event, I don't think they'd turn around and add theme'd scare zones. They hired on 80 more scare actors to place in the park. I feel that is a pretty good attempt at an answer to help make it feel like more is going on. I don't understand the whole "out of place" concept I keep hearing. The park dug up a dark force called the Iniquitis who than rose up several dark legions to terrorize the park. This is the first time they've had a cohesive theme through out the event in a while. Everybody talks about the "Themed" scare zones, while yes they are awesome, usually had nothing to do with anything else in the event. Lady luck had one terrible scare zone, and then there were 5 other random have nothing to do with the "theme" zones. I can't say I love the roaming legions but I do love the fact that they are all apart of the same purpose. Warriors are the only thing that I didn't fully understand but hey, they made it work. The Iniquitis prepare them before they break...and send them off. I love that! I always hated how by the time I got to Kidzone and MIB there was literally nothing going on there....and now they have scareactors there. I love it! Again though, I'm biased...sorry for the rant haha.
  2. Well, only one week left of the event! I can't believe how fast this thing flew by. I have had the opportunity to be a part of many attractions and I've loved them all. I think this years event has been great, after finally getting to see it from a guests perspective. I also think adding 2 more legions was something they could have used from the start but they look awesome. I can't wait to see how it finishes out!
  3. Yeah, this sounds like it could be an awesome element in the traditional haunts...but again could be all hype. Blackout takes it a little to far, haha. I went up to NY and passed on the Blackout Haunted House. I went to a show called Sleep No More (look it up, it's an interactive theater experience) and experienced something similar to this extreme of a situation. That was enough for me...so it will be interesting to see the balance they find.
  4. I'm glad you all enjoyed the event! Jedimaster you had a special scare aimed at you in Penn and Teller. Tonight was amazing, and I think it's going to be a great year!
  5. Once the actual Haunt begins, only a few major attractions stay open during the night. This year I believe it is Despicable me, Rockit, Mummy, Men in Black and Simpsons. I've noticed in years past Mummy having a much longer line during the event, so try and hit up the major rides before the event starts. Also, How do you all feel about the Horror Movie Lagoon show? I think it is an amazing idea and could add some awesome atmosphere. I think as long as it's once or a few times a night, it will be awesome...just not constant.
  6. I am so excited for this weekend, I can't wait to hear what everybody thinks!
  7. I left you a PM. Also, I am more interested to see how all the construction works out through this event. I was in the park the other day just hanging out watching all the trucks driving through as they ushered guests out of the way. I'm not sure how well that is going to work with all the drunk guests. Also, the entrance to the park has been decked out and is looking pretty awesome.
  8. Awesome costumes! So far my experience has been amazing, I can't wait for next week!
  9. The more I learn the more excited I'm getting for this year
  10. Awesome! Glad to see all of the updates on the website. I think this year is going to be better then most expected, but I'm completely biased. I'm not sure if I saw this discussed earlier, but are we thinking they will be able to pursue on to the sidewalks again? I have my first rehearsal date next week!
  11. I am excited for the houses....still waiting on the scare zones! Also waiting to see if that creature they dug up is the theme or just a zone! He looks interesting, that is for sure.
  12. Some interesting activity over on the HHN orlando Facebook Page. A fair amount of clues, including pictures of house facades, sets and quotes have been released from the lucky individuals emailed by Universal. They are also allowing those winners to walk through a house which is pretty awesome. It looks like the Gargoyle house is not only confirmed, but sounding pretty awesome. I am very excited for the reveal in 2 days, mostly so I can see what all we have going on this year! I am very excited to get down there and start scaring some people! Another photo put out by Universal has a hand coming up from the dirt.....which they said they found in the construction zone. Thoughts on what this could be pointing towards? I'm not sure I've ever seen so many crazy/different rumors flying around for this event (which I think has to do with how much less has been revealed, by this time last year we had the website with all the fun games and clues.)
  13. Hmmmm.....that's sweet! It could be a few different creepy doll themed franchises.....but I'm hoping for an original. I am excited for them to reveal more! -EDIT-So I just saw the Universal Singapore promo and I feel like it shares similarities to this teaser. Perhaps nothing, but it looks like they have a theme already and it looks pretty sweet.
  14. ^ Agreed. I am so glad it wasn't a house about Penn and Teller but one just inspired and created by. Should be very interesting to see how it turns out. I also wouldn't be surprised if the elvis scare and other girls are all true, they tend to love giving things away. That hallway looked awesome!
  15. Penn and Teller confirmed for Orlando. I'm still not sure about it, but I enjoyed the 3D house last year. I think it will be pretty awesome looking, and hopefully provide some good laughs. I hope it's a better comedy house then last years.
  16. Will do, and thanks for the support! My buddy recently got to sit down with Rick Spencer and talk to him about the success of his career. It was really interesting to hear how much has evolved, especially this year. Although really wishing I hadn't renewed my pass last month, kind of pointless now. I'm going to try and get a day off early in the season to try and go see the other houses but if not I look forward to hearing every ones reviews!
  17. I have always been very interested in being a scareactor for this event for several years. I ran a very small haunted house back home that by its 6th year had gained much popularity in the town. The last few years I have attended this event and loved every second of it. Well after going in for the "audition" last night I am very excited to be a part of this years event! I know a lot of people don't really care that much for the job, but I am pumped!
  18. I think the layout looks pretty awesome, especially the last two elements!
  19. I guess if there was any dispute they got it settled. They have released a video confirming the Walking Dead house. I am interested to experience this house not knowing anything about the show other then zombies.
  20. ^ Agreed. Instead we may get a generic zombie house that slightly resembles a popular tv show with very familiar scenes. Although it would be a shame for them to lose that on top of all the other weird things with this year. I would really like the Silent Hill House to extend out into a silent hills scare zone like zombiegeddon did. I thought it was awesome leaving a house of zombies which dumped right into the middle of a zombie scarezone. I think an outdoor setting for Silent Hill matched with the building projections could be awesome.
  21. Just got back from KD for the first time in 8 years. What an amazing experience. I305 blew me away. First ride was in the back and it was great! After that we did the front and that was just insane...although I did have a "grey/black out" from the turn to the top of the hill. Still an amazing ride. The rest of the park was fantastic and best of all it was dead! Everything was a walk on, including Volcano and I305. I was very impressed by Dominator and I had a lot of fun on Stunt coaster (Italian job). The water park was a blast as well. As you can tell I'm in a great mood because I had a great day. So glad I305 lived up to the hype for me! I can't wait to go back.
  22. I don't know if I'll make an entry in this year, I love participating in this contest. So many talented photographers and I'm not sure if I'd take 1st pace for a 3rd year, but if I have time I'm going to try! Already some awesome photos posted on this site! Steve- Original:That shot is epic man, beautiful framing!
  23. I have not done the walk of shame, but I've been with several friends who have. While working in ride operations it is an important aspect of the job, but always seemed like a difficult situation for me. Approaching them before they get in the line always felt pretty awkward, but I'd rather them not wait 2 hours for a more awkward situation on the platform.
  24. I was able to revisit this park a few weeks ago and zero-G was great. I'm glad they got a new tower, but I loved the old one as well! First drop tower that actually scared my girlfriend. She has never had a problem with towers so I'm glad this got to her haha. The ghost train update was great. I am very happy with what they were able to do for it. I think this park is great, not to mention the other amazing flats such as the sizzler, scat 2, and Michael Jackson's Sea Dragon.
  25. of grass??? I love open fields! Usually the rides I'm on are either facing a city, or more rides......The seclusion of Beech Bend is one reason why I love visiting it!
