  1. Haha it could have been us listening to it...although I think we passed you as we were getting off. Let me know if you hear of any others, I can't seem to find anything about it on any other sites. Also, I was very impressed with the size of (Kong?) I really wasn't expecting that large of a building!
  2. Great coverage of an awesome event! It was my first time attending this celebration and we had a blast. All of the special events and actor interactions were very fun. My favorite part was having both areas of the parks pretty dead that first night and of course all the butterbeer you could drink (loved the warm version). Finally got to get on Gringotts, and loved it! Especially not having to wait. I do have a question though, we went and rode Rip Ride Rockit a few times that weekend and noticed they had changed out at least one song. We found Happy by Pharrell Williams in the pop genre. Although it's not every seat, I was sitting next to my wife and she found it and I could not, and vise versa the next time we rode. I wasn't aware they added songs to the regular list but very happy they did, were there more that we missed? Thanks!
  3. I really liked Euro Mir and Euro Sat, due to the music and length it takes to get to the top. Also, like stated before, The Beast has great lift hill music as well. Manta has some epic music too but I don't remember if that makes it all the way up the lift...I think it's only the pre-lift to maybe a quarter of the way up.
  4. When I was younger (around 10 years old) we rode a coaster on a boardwalk (I believe it was Ocean City, New Jersey, and I think it was this coaster or one like it rcdb.com/402.htm Anyway, we hit the breaks so hard and quick I ended up biting into my tongue and bit a tiny piece off the side, I still have a strange little "bump" area on my tongue from that incident. I was really upset, but not due to the pain/blood...but because my parents wouldn't let me ride it again. Many of my friends complain about the Mummy stop as well.
  5. I found the restraints on Blue Fire to be very comfortable and while the lap bar was pretty snug it was still a very free experience considering all the inversions. This coaster is looking fantastic and I really hope I can get there some day. The drop out of the station is a great touch! Awesome photo update.
  6. Hey guys...I saw this pop up a few other places on the web so I thought I'd share it here too! Some great information on what it takes for Cedar Point to build something like this! Great documentary!
  7. Well if rumors are true, and so far they have been...we are getting three original houses. The only kind of downside is that two of those houses are sequels to older HHN houses. One being legendary truth, but that website went active way early this year so just assuming. I hope it's better than the maze a few years ago. I agree with what was posted earlier, the walking dead isn't that interesting to me and the house last year was my least favorite. Maybe the new location of The Walking Dead house will aid in the quality of the maze?
  8. Getting another Walking Dead house is one thing, but dedicating the entire event to it? That cuts my interest in half. I love the variety in street experiences. Whether it is scare zones or roaming hoards...at least there was variety. They have dedicated the entire street experience this year to Walking Dead. I can't say I'm a huge fan of that but I'll still be going to check it out! From the Facebook Page "And we thought we’d go ahead and reveal the street experience too. For the first time ever, we’re dedicating the entire HHN street experience to AMC’s The Walking Dead. Around every corner you will encounter iconic scenes from all 3 seasons of the show, while trying to avoid blood-thirsty walkers."
  9. I was just showing a friend what the ride and area used to be like (original POV's on youtube and all that). My first year working at Disney in 2009, I took a small tour up there...it brought back a lot of memories seeing most of it still up there. I would love to see Dreamfinder return.
  10. Agreed!^ I would find it weird but I would love to see some of those scens come to life. SPOILER ALERT (Kind of?) Here is a great article giving some more details on the Cabin in the Woods house. I am very excited to see this! www.foxnews.com/travel/2013/06/27/universal-orlando-announces-cabin-in-woods-feature-in-theme-park-halloween/#ixzz2XL8yQ2R3
  11. Very excited about Cabin in the woods, I loved the film. I guess this will also double as the comedy house? I hear tale of Evil Dead joining the event as well. I think that'd be a little strange to have both.
  12. Anybody else excited that they are announcing a HHN house tonight? I'm hoping it's something to do with Cabin in the Woods or Evil Dead. (simply basing that off of the look of the 23, and their hint at the evil being unleashed. Maybe eddie?) We'll know in 12 hours! I am also excited to see the event going into November. I won't be working it this year, but I am for sure visiting haha. I wasn't sure if it was to early to start an individual topic.
  13. I finally got to experience this just the other month and I loved it! First time I rode I was in the back row and it became one of my favorite ride experiences. It was easily top three coasters in the park for me haha!
  14. Hey guys, thought some of you might find this pretty cool! It's a sweet documentary on Outlaw Run! Also, I love that panoramic with the multiple trains^
  15. Awesome, thanks for the hotel information! We are getting ready to book a room just working on narrowing it down. I figured that EuroSAT might be a little rough but I doubt it's nothing that will ruin the experience. I also am looking forward to finding the dark rides and walk throughs!! Any suggestions on personal belongings? I usually have a tough time leaving my camera at home (slr) but when it comes to a new exciting location it's hard to not bring my gear. I'm debating if I should bring it due to limited time at the park. I really want to enjoy my experience and when I start taking pictures sometime's it's hard to stop. If I bring my camera, do they offer bins/or rentable storage areas incase I do want to take a few minutes to shoot? One last question, best/cheapest way to get to Berlin from the Rust/Europa Park area. Preferably leaving at night (after 7pm) (I hope this all is making sense, I had my tonsils removed this past week and these pain killers tend to make me lose focus haha )
  16. Wow, thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for all of the dark rides and walk through attractions. Great suggestion on the single riders line, I was not aware they had those. I really appreciate all the help and I'm going to look into the resort right now, the early entrance could be a huge benefit! Also thank you for the advice on the water rides...I've always wanted to try those models out but didn't know if it was a horrible soaking or not. (I imagine it will still be a little chilly for those in March). Both of you seemed to have answered everything I asked and more, so thank you very much! One last question...I don't have a problem with rough coasters, but my fiance's tolerance is much lower. Should I warn her or be prepared for any uncomfortable rides? Thanks again! (Although the only ride she has openly complained about is Beast) Thanks! I am looking for the resort but I just did a general search through the website and it brings up several hotels. Is the one you mentioned specifically called The Europa park resort? Thanks!
  17. Hello everybody, and I want to thank you in advance for any help/suggestion you may be able to provide. My fiance and I are traveling to Italy and Germany from March 20th-April 3rd for the first time. We shall be landing in Italy on Thursday March 21st. We'll be in Northern Italy and have plans until Sunday March 24th. Either that night or the next morning we will be traveling over to Germany, to stay with some friends over there. We would like to see a bit of Germany from March 25th-March 29th. During one of those days we are wanting to go over to Europa Park. Which leads me to my next few questions...(The basics) First off, it is opening week for the park....and if it's like here in the states, I'm not sure what to expect. I've seen both ends of the spectrum...from super busy to very dead. If so, which would be the best day to attend? They open Saturday, March 23rd. I assume a weekday will be better, perhaps Tuesday or Wednesday...but I have no concept of what the society's schedule is over there (School/work). Secondly, do they offer any kind of express pass options? As much of an enthusiast as I am, when it comes to international parks I'm not nearly as educated...and while I know I could research this all, I would much rather get opinions from locals and others who have visited the park before! I notice the park's hours are from 9am-6pm. Is this enough time to accomplish all major attractions with out an express pass on a standard to busy day? Third....What are the high capacity and low capacity rides? As in, where should I go first and what can I hold off until later in the day. Are there rides that have long waits no matter what just due to low capacity or poor operation. I assume Blue Fire will be very busy. Any gems I should be looking for? I am pretty aware of all the coasters there...but how about flats? Any crazy or rare flat rides I should make sure to get on? Also I really want to eat at Food Loop, any suggestions for that? And Finally....in the surrounding area of Europa Park, or Frankfurt....is there any small park I can find that has those crazy self operated rides? Boat Jump, Butterfly, and those weird tumbling rides? Thanks again so much...I hate to sound so ignorant on the topic but hey...I've not no experience with it haha. I look forward to any and all responses! Aslo, forgot to address...It seems like quite a drive from where we are staying, any good or negative thoughts on the hotel right there on property? We notice they have no form of public transit that can reach the hotel...so should we just get up the few hours earlier and just do a day trip...or go for a room? Thanks!
  18. I hope every body had a very Merry Christmas! A good amount of clothes, but my favorite gifts- GoPro hero 3 (Black)-So pumped for this Cabin in the woods/Pixar shorts volume 2 Playstation all stars! My birthday is also on Christmas, best gift of that was from my fiancé... 2 tickets to Europa park, when I go to Europe for the first time next year! Also a picture of Millennium Force I took, she sent off and got it turned into a puzzle! So much fun! A light up long board, so sick! Have a great new year everybody!!!
  19. Wow! The Springfield expansion sounds much bigger than I imagined it would be. I'm actually more excited for it than I originally thought, and if it brings a new ride in than awesome! Great to see coaster track in the building, I keep hearing that it is Intamin but from that one piece of track it's hard to tell.
  20. Yes it is 18 and up. It's quite the competition to initially get the job. Every year they host a reunion audition for all the scareactors from the past year. This year they filled over 70% of their roles just from that. They then held 3 separate days of auditions in which they hired the rest. On the third day, halfway through they had already seen around 2,000 people from all three days. The audition it self is pretty simple for it is a type cast out. You either fit what they are looking for or you don't. You could be put in the street or the house...just chance. Again there are comments section and it wouldn't hurt to put an area of interest. Availability is another consideration for the job.
  21. Fire Crew used to be significantly larger, but this year they slimmed it down by about 50%. It is very similar to Active Backup, only difference is Active backup is not guaranteed work. Fire crew will be cast every night no matter what. People on Active backup could be sent home each night if there is no where for them, and also only have to show up 5 times to meet their requirements to be employed. As fire crew, we show up about an hour and a half before everybody else. We are then lined up in a trailer and casted by a panel of very familiar faces. (Show runners/directors/creative directors) It is by height and sometimes weight. You will most likely play very similar/repetitive roles considering they casted you specifically by your body type. Another huge perk of Fire crew is being walked through all the houses on the training nights of all the hard casted individuals. So on Sept 6th, we walked through 2 houses, and then again on the 12th and 16th in order to "study" our options. It was cool to be the "test subjects" for our fellow scare actors. Also saved me from having to fight to terribly hard to see the event, since that is a very difficult task when working HHN. I know it has existed for quite a while, but I'm not sure of the origin. Some people "respect" the Fire Crew for it's considered an awesome position. I also found a lot of people don't like it, since every night you show up somewhere new...you essentially don't know what you are doing. Learning the scare and or gags that others have had weeks to practice. Sorry for typing a novel, just thought I'd add a little info on the topic.
  22. Yeah! I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity. There is a definitely advantages to being hard casted in a location. The family that is built in each cast is really cool...also you get to perfect your scare! Which I did get a little taste of for I was Steven 6 or 7 times. Although I still think I prefer moving around and getting to experience a little bit of everything each night. Getting on Fire Crew was honestly by chance. It's what I was offered so I accepted. The only advice I can give is when/if you go to the audition, on your application there is a comments section. If you are interested in a specific role, such as fire crew, fill it in there!
  23. Well, I can't believe it is over. What an amazing experience. I met so many awesome people, and fulfilled something I had wanted to do for years. I had a blast and I'm sad that it has come to an end. This year, as FireCrew I was sent all over the park to fill in holes each night. This year I was a part of The Warriors, Vampires, Iniquitis, Gothic (Got to be on the forsaken flying rig, what fun!) Alice cooper (did this house the most, same role pretty much. Loved it!) Penn and teller (got to actually work with Penn and Teller!) House of Horrors (Some of the best scares I got at the event were in this house) Walking Dead. Such a blast, I wish it was still going on!
  24. Park hours have been extended on Thursday and Sunday, closing time is now 2 am. Going to be a busy last week!
