The "Say Something Random" Thread
stingrock23 replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
It snowed for about 2 hours today, earliest recorded snowfall in new orleans history. -
Absolutely. And if you're a fan of Crichton, you really need to read "Timeline." It's my favorite of his. Another one where they bastardized it in the movie. That book was amazing. Once I saw Paul Walker was cast in the movie, I knew it wouldn't be any good, and I still haven't seen it. It's a shame they didn't give that one a better chance to be good. I loved that book

PTR: Brent's TR's - 2009 TPR Scandinavia Tour

Way to keep this going, Brent. Coney was definitely an interesting place. Love the captions, but no pics of Nathan's? That's better, people stuffing their faces with weiners -
^ I saw that column, and it made me a little nervous. I really hope it doesn't turn out like that, but Simmons does know his NBA, so it's something I'm gonna pay attention to at the rest of the games this year.

The Hornets haven't started as well as I'd like, but it is a long season, and they will be there in the end. I know they'll get it together. OKC has some good fans, but I hope that team keeps floundering due to the whole Seattle fiasco.

There was a segment about this on the 2nd 311 Enlarged to Show Detail DVD. They ended up finding 2 people who finished. It was pretty funny in that a lot of the people were pretty cocky early on, only go have the milk just fly back up. It was amazing how fast it shot out.

Photo TR: Bas does Florida and the East Coast Tour

I have to say, those water squirters by the rapids ride provided one of the best experiences of the trip. I don't know how many TPR members I got, but by the end, we had that thing down to a science. -
SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread
stingrock23 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I'm with you there. I withheld all real judgment until something actually happened. As nice as it was to have a park that close, there's no way a big park like that can survive down here. They should move the coasters to Dixie Landin in Baton Rouge. -

You know, i thought had finally forgot all about that Ireland song, but now it's back. Thanks for keeping that alive. Busch was really a great park -

I thought the premiere was pretty good, although at times it seemed like there was too much stuff going on. I'm looking forward to seeing all the interactions this season. It's good to have something to hold me over until Lost comes back on in January.

Guitar Hero World tour Vs. Rock Band 2
stingrock23 replied to kalvin's topic in Random, Random, Random
^^^ The guitar hero guitar only works on rock band on the x box version. There's some argument between the companies on the PS3 version. I bought guitar hero 3 thinking the guitar would work on rock band, and it doesn't. I don't know about world tour and rock band 2, though. I would hope they solved all that crap. -

The PS3 version of RB2 doesn't come out for another month, so I'll have to wait until then. I'll be buying Guitar Hero just because it's got a 311 song on it. I've been waiting for one of those for a long time. Hopefully Rock Band will have some 311 downloadable tracks. -

Having been here before, I was really disappointed in how everything was running. I was glad we got out of there early and got to spend more time in Williamsburg. -
I've had both for a long time, and I have to say contacts. Glasses are easier to deal with, but when it comes to going outside in the sunlight, I need sunglasses on, and that's why I wear my contacts most of the time. Once you get used to putting them in and taking them out, it's really no big deal.

I don't want to wish this storm on anyone, but i really hope it turns north and we don't have to deal with another one of these this season. There are still a lot of power outages here, although New Orleans' power should be fully restored by tomorrow. This is just ridiculous.

Had to love those $8 dollar beers. Those pork roll sandwiches were unbelievable, though. I could go for one of those right about now. -
I made it back to the area after going to Tallahassee for a few days. My house has power, cable, internet, and no damage to it. We did get a bit lucky that the storm didn't get much stronger in the gulf, but it was good to see that the levees held. Hopefully these storms still out there don't come this way.

That's the one big difference I've noticed this time around, the preparation has been much better compared to Katrina. There will be no places of last resort like the superdome last year, most of the people should be able to get out of the area before it hits. I'm still here for now, but I've got a hotel room in talahassee and a friend in south carolina, so depending on what happens overnight, I'll be going to one of those places tomorrow. Hopefully the storm shifts west overnight.
