Stop fiddling, your originals were probably better on their own. Nice pictures though. -
^Great here's some more bad captions, and the pictures have gotten worse, the lights played havoc with my camera. Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular at Knott's, it's like Christmas in the summer time, without the presents. Ok, so it starts at "dusk", which i guess is like around 7:20 or something, and then theres a lighting ceremony at the entrance to Camp Snoopy. Charlie Brown and Snoopy come out and do a little skit and then plug in a giant power cord. There's a few different themes going on. Theres space aliens, Snoopy camping, peace and love, and some other stuff i can't remember, but you get the idea. They also sell glasses that turned the lights into shapes for a buck. Other than that, there was music, which did make it kinda festive. Overall it was pretty cool, maybe not worth running out to see by itself, but if you happen to be a Knott's I would check it out. (This was pictures of the lights at Knott's Snoopy Starlight thing, theme park yes, interest no.) Ok, thats it, sorry for some of the blurry pictures, but the light comming from everywhere confused my camera.

Ok heres a short trip to the cherry festival in Beaumont, Ca. Anyway, theres a carnival, some booths, vendors and live music(Eddie Money was the headliner this year). For being "The Cherry" festival theres not a lot of cherries, but then i just went to the Orange Show and didn't see any oranges. By the way i'd like to thank the Lion's Club for putting on a great game of bingo, three cards for a buck, and all the bad jokes are free. Heres the pictures. (Pictures of the Cherry Festival, even an exciting shot of people playing bingo.)

Photo TR: Thomas Town at Six Flags America
fatdaddy replied to printersdevil78's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This is an excellent example of how Thomas Town should be done, not the half assed version we got at SFMM. I think this shows how bad the Thomas Town at SFMM is, and how many short cuts they took, i mean all we got was a train, a rethemed coaster and some sprinklers. That cranky drop towers look great. I really think this looks awesome, it's a full blown themed land, thanks for posting, i now have Thomas Town envy. -
Since the audio system on Terminator is dead. I think if they wanted to add just a little audio and do i cheaply, the tunnel would be the best place. Its the only enclosed place on the ride where an audio speaker could blast out "take the tunnel" and you would actually hear it. On the same note they could put some kind of audio at the beginning and end of the ride, would kind of give you a beginning middle and end. I mean the "here they come" could be as your leaving the station, take the tunnel and then whatever at the end maybe music, those are the only things i ever heard anyway. Being as the ride is themed "industrial" they could just put up some industrial speakers and wouldn't have to theme anything just pretty much install it.

Bottom line is that G's hit people differently, not everyone can be a fighter pilot or astronaut, thats why they run all those centrifuge tests on candidates, basically to see if you have a tolerance for high G forces. Honestly if you think it's out of the ordinary go see the doctor. The other thing is that if its a one time occurence, maybe dehydration or even mild sun stroke. I know there have been times where i went on rides and came off all loopy and pretty much just needed get hydrated and eat something. Of course, after five rides on Flight Deck, i just had to quit.

Ok, so didn't they add brakes to colossus to run more trains, because now that its kinda fallen outta favor, can they make it go faster and run less trains. The screamscape thing said something about maybe banking some of the turns and all that, but i would be happy if it just went faster. Sorry if that question is in any way retarded, I'm only a part time coaster nerd, my real hobby is spoon collecting.

June 2,2010 Here's the Orange County Zoo, located inside Irvine Regional Park, which also houses Irvine Park Railroad. There's a charge per car to get into the park, which keeps the riff raff out. Oh, and pony rides and a snack bar. The zoo is mainly native animals; bears, coyotes, eagles, etc.. Very small, could do it in less than an hour, but you could spend a good part of the day enjoying the entire park. Ok here's the pictures. (Pictures of the kids zoo, pretty much farm animals) Ok, thats it for the childrens zoo, ill get the rest of the zoo up in a little bit.

A visit to the Spreepark in ruins...
fatdaddy replied to darkon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awesome and sad, i always hate to see great parks in this kind of condition. I remember when i was a kid there used to be a small amusement area in the park, just a few rides, some games and a carousel, i don't know why, but it closed and everything sat for years before it was finally completely tore out. Of course a lot of things were vandalized and stolen, and the covered areas, even the carousel became homeless camps. Eventually the carousel got a new home in Illinois, which was nice to see that it was restored. Anyway, looks like it would have been an great park, any way you could get more of that dark ride. Please keep us up to date on the progress getting it up and running again, i imagine it will look pretty incredible all cleaned up. -
Ok, if you insist, i got more coming, went to the Orange County Zoo/Irvine Park Railroad. Just gotta edit down the Pictures and get them up. I have to organize what i'm doing, i have so many places to go and not a lot of time. Temecula balloon festival this weekend i think, maybe the cherry festival, all on the fly so no promises. I'm really thinking of doing the Midway in San Diego, its an Aircraft carrier/museum later in the month when i do belmont. No, its not a theme park but inside of the ship they have a lot of different flight simulators you can ride for an upcharge, so many of you may be interested.

That was pretty cool, i listened to it more than once, very entertaining. Hey did they use my picture of shouka, it looks like it, but everybody was taking pictures of the same stuff at the same time. If it is, it looks better cropped, i shoulda done that in my trip report.

It's pretty clear that they had plenty of time to shut the show down before it got outta hand. Sure the kids shouldn't of been jumping on stage, but they should have cut the power and cleared everyone out way before it got to pepper spraying teen girls, acting like teenagers. It's after it's shut down and people refuse to leave or get rowdy that you start pepper spraying or if your LAPD break out the rubber bullets. I've been at concerts where people were actually throwing stuff at the cops and nobody got pepper sprayed or even arrested. In closing, Six Flags in the future should check out who its booking and the crowd they draw, this is nothing compared to some of the concerts i've been to, but the venues know how to handle it and it almost never gets outta hand. Ok, im done with this, i think everybody has formed their opinion, nothing left to comment on 'til it plays out or goes away.

OK second half of this, after i got everything resized and edited down from the crappy pictures my wifes camera took, i realized that she had taken pictures on her phone, but of course it's too late now, im not doing all this work over again. Please forgive the extra super crappy captions, i was kinda tired. ok pictures (Here there were pictures of the Crazy Coaster and the carnival rides) OK, thats it for the orange show, not a theme park, but a few coasters at least.

May 30.2010 Ok, so here's The National Orange Show in San Bernardino, this is the 95th year, it's gotten pretty small, except for the ride area, which take up most of the festval. No races or monster trucks and very limited vendors. Nightly free concerts and some small shows. There were three coasters the Hi-Miler, Crazy Coaster, and Dragon Wagon. They also had pretty much any carnival ride you could think of, ferris wheels, tilt-a-whirl, zipper, etc., sorry no kick boodie for jesus, but if jesus accepts coaster credits then a lot of you are going to heaven. So, heres some pictures, thanks for looking. [edit] Please excuse the quality of some of the pictures, used my wifes camera and it didn't turn out well, not sure what happened. (There were pictures of the famous, or infamous HI-Miler and the fair) Still a few more to come.
