RCT2 Downhill Breaking?
OFFice357 replied to Retro_Gaga's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
It shouldn't matter whether or not the track is the same type. I am really not sure what else could be wrong. Did you try setting the operating mode of the track with the backwards train to powered launch? -

I use a separate coaster. I don't think that you can use the same one -

^^When merging track, you have to set the operating mode to boat hire. -
I just visited the park today and a few things have changed since the season started. ^ The two turns going over the lift are now completely gone. I wonder if this is where the 95 degree banked turn will be? ^ The turn out of the station is being rebuilt from scratch. ^ I'm not sure how long these have been here but these are the connectors that connect the track to the support structure. ^ I used paint to draw a line to help estimate where the new height of the Texas Giant will be. It appears that it will be around 10 feet, just what the article said. ^ On another note, during the day, ACE was celebrating the Judge Roy Scream's 30th birthday, but according to RCDB, the Judge Roy Scream opened on the first of march, not the 28th. A train full of ACE members rode the ride for 30 minutes without stopping, then rode 30 laps in a row on it.

Alton Towers Discussion Thread
OFFice357 replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Now I do believe that all the hype Merlin and Alton Towers made about this coaster having an age limit is false. If look closely at the bottom of the screen in both of those movies, a message pops up for a few seconds saying, height restrictions apply. It says nothing about an age limit. -
I've been playing bass for 3 years now, (since I was 11). I mainly play Jazz, Funk, and various Latin styles. But a little classic rock never hurts.

^^^ I doubt it. If they stick to the same layout there really much of a chance that the banking will be the same as the Stengel Dive, because the Texas Giant's layout is pretty much a modified figure eight. Even if it could be the same, I'm pretty sure that the Stengel Dive is banked a little bit more than 95 degrees

Thanks for the suggestions! I will work on brightening up the Mega Lite but I'm afraid I'm not very good when it comes to choosing colors that compliment others. Could you possibly give a suggestion or example of something that would work good with brown, thanks. One of the reasons it looks empty is because I am going to wait until the end to add detail in the buildings, and trees. That small patch of trees in the corner already added some lag, so I am going to place all the rides before doing those things. Thanks for the feedback!

Well, a few days ago I started working on this and I thought that I might as well start a topic for it. It's just a small park that I'm building in my free time. I'm not really sure where I want this park to go yet so for now I'm just building what comes to mind. So now on to the pictures. One of the pictures that I posted in the Preview Thread. This is the park's current signature coaster, The Grizzly. The other image that I posted in the Preview Thread. This is the worlds only preserved, (not rebuilt), coaster of its type, Flying Turns. The other side of Flying Turns. As you can see it's clearly unfinished. The flat ride, Log Dropper. You can see The Grizzly's station, and finale, where The Grizzly takes you into its den, in the background. A close up of the ticket booth and entrance. And finally a overview of the current layout of the park. Stay tuned for more updates!

Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV
OFFice357 replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief has the Coney Island Cyclone in it, BUT I'm not sure if it's computer generated or not it was too dark too tell. -
I think Microsoft did a pretty good job incorporating touch screen capabilities into Windows 7. I have a Vaio L Series Touch Screen PC, and I must say that while it isn't as good as the iPhone's, the touch screen's response, control, functionality is quite good.

Man you guys are lucky. I was debating on whether or not to go today. Instead I decided to go to the movies. -

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

While waiting in line for HRRR, I overheard a couple of teenagers ahead of me start talking about a "roller coaster" in Japan while we were waiting for the mechanics fix a problem with one of the train's restraints. Teenager 1 - "Dude, did have you heard about this crazy roller coaster in Japan?" Teenager 2 - "No, what about it?" Teen 1 - "Well I heard that it was the fastest coaster in the world, it goes like 120 mile per hour!" Teen 2 - "Oh yeah! I think I've heard about that. Don't you need a oxygen mask to ride?" Teen 1 - "Yeah, I think so." Teen 2 - "I think it's because the cars aren't closed and you are open to the wind" -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Remember that appearances can be deceiving, I haven't ridden Millennium Force so I can't really compare the two but from what I see by watching the animated videos of the layout it looks like there could be 7 moments of airtime compared to the three that were apparent when I looked at the layout for the first time. -
[No Limits] Prototype Boomerang
OFFice357 replied to OFFice357's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^True, but I would imagine that if this ride were real, Vekoma or the creators would create some kind of mechanism that would raise, or in this case lower the train in the opposite direction in the case of an e-stop. I'm just assuming though. -

Thanks for the input guys! themeparkman25 - Yeah I agree with you. Again, I don't have much free time but when I do get back to working on this coaster I will make sure to tend to that issue. paintballer - I don't really get it, could you elaborate? Thanks! -

Yeah, I may extend the layout in the future, but right now I don't have much free time so it may not happen for a while. -
This coaster has been sitting in a dark corner of my hard drive collecting dust. It's my take on the Vekoma boomerang. The color scheme is kind of random but I didn't build it for show, just as a concept. I decided to fix it up a little and upload it. Here you go! Flying Bat Flanges.nltrack Here's an overview of the layout.

I think Coastermate for the iPhone and iPod touch is pretty cool. It let's you record the g-forces of a roller coaster and then organize them according to each coaster you measured. All you do is enter the coaster information, then hit start and put your iPhone or iPod in a pocket right before you board, and hit stop once the ride is done.

If the real ride track is going to have that layout, the theming for this coaster must be pretty extensive. I can't imagine that the coaster track, even with a moderate amount of theming, would have that large of a price tag. I'm looking forward to see what's going to be inside that building. -

That model of the spinner looks amazing! I wonder what HRRR's non inverting loop feels like while spinning? -

Are using the full version of the No Limits Construction Kit? It looks like the ties are the Classic Looping Coaster's.
