What was your first B&M Coaster?
KBrylczyk replied to thrillseeker4552's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Batman at Great Adventure. It's still as intense as ever, probably even more so. That thing managed to give me a blackout last time I rode it this year. -

I pooped a little from excitement. I may go in for both Texas/Midwest and mini-UK, but that depends on airfare to the UK. I'm definitely going to do one, though. -
I think that's mainly because people were expecting something bigger after the other Intamin launchers. Rita, at the time, seemed underwhelming in the wake of something like Storm Runner. While I haven't ridden Rita, I have ridden its clone, Desert Race, at Heide Park. I love the damn thing. It's compact, twisty, fast, and fun! Sure, it's not a huge ride, it isn't super long, but it gives you a great adrenaline rush and pulls some big forces in a tiny footprint. Even though it was raining during our ERT I still rode that thing a ton. My eyes stung a lot, but it was still great.

It's actually Carnival Liberty which is a Conquest class stitched with a Fantasy class ship. Touche, sir. The Liberty is the upper half (Conquest Class) and the Fantasy Class is where the waterpark comes in. You're right. The waterpark on Fantasy Class is in the aft section of the ship while on Dream class it is midship Lido.

Haunts Across America

I'll just paste my review of House Of Shock in New Orleans from Reddit and Yelp here. -
^ It doesn't. That's an image glitch. It's two images taken at two separate times stitched together. The upper half of the ship is facing east for one picture, the lower half is facing west for the other. The line between Google Maps sattelite images just happens to fall right on the perfect point to create that illusion, hahaha. That's one of Carnival's Dream Class ships, fyi.

NEWS: Riders stranded at Texas State Fair
KBrylczyk replied to gisco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh, I know KMG. I'm a fan of theirs. It just seems that nobody knows how to build a tall swing ride except for Funtime. The Windseekers are plagued with problems, now KMG stalls out, probably some other missteps in the past with other versions, too. It seems Six Flags actually made a correct decision for once with going with Funtime. -

Judging by the entrance, it looks like you stumbled upon an ex-Nazi installation that has been cleverly disguised. -
NEWS: Riders stranded at Texas State Fair
KBrylczyk replied to gisco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is that a Star Flyer ripoff? It seems nobody knows how to properly build these things except for Funtime, haha. If that is a legit Funtime Star Flyer, though, my point is moot. -
Coney Island Cyclone. I just rode it again in August (for the first time in a decade) and man, did it whoop me something good! Now, usually, people claim roughness is a bad thing, but not on the Cyclone. When you're riding in the back you get some of the most terrifying ejector airtime available on this planet (comparable to Devil's Mine at Fort Fun!). Edit - You know what? Just because I mentioned Devil's Mine, allow me to provide proof of it's absolutely STUPID airtime. This was taken on TPR's Europe trip this past June. Recognize anyone?

Nope, not a chance. This happens way more often than you'd think. High winds snap mooring lines like they're tissue paper, hahaha. The reason this happened was because the storm came out of nowhere and no precautions were implemented. Generally, if there are adverse weather conditions at the dock or there are storms rolling in, the ships won't dock at that location. Isla Roatan in Honduras is notorious for this. They have one mass-market port (Coxen Hole (yes, I've heard all the dirty jokes, haha)) and one owned by Carnival (Mahogany Bay). While Coxen Hole (hehe) rarely has a problem, the location of Mahogany Bay is crap when it comes to weather. I don't know how many times the ship I'm working on has had to be re-routed to the other side of the island to dock at Coxen Hole (still funny!) because of the winds at Mahogany Bay. Also, not just mooring lines snapping, but ships hitting each other happens a bunch, too. Not enough to say it happens regularly, but it does happen. The majority of the time it's just like in this video and it's a love tap, but other times, depending on the ships involved, much larger damage occurs. Like the time one of Carnival's Holiday Class ships, the Celebration (still on the water with a different cruise line now), decided to get intimate with a Cuban freighter...and promptly cut through it like a knife through butter. Let's just say that a Finnish-built ship made of the strongest metals on earth meeting the hull of a Cuban-built rust bucket isn't a pretty sight. Proof? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Celebration

What is your next park?
KBrylczyk replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Most likely whatever the first park on the Midwest 2013 trip will be, if it's a confirmed trip. I'm working a tour right now then going right onto the Carnival Miracle for 6 months at the end of January. -
The BEST roller coaster view EVER???
KBrylczyk replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pffft, Cowboys Stadium. Booooooring! My Giants have no roof in the meadowlands. They play like the champions they are! Granted, no coasters overlook their land of glory, but it's still pretty, haha. -
TPR's 2012 China Trip!

Oh, I WISH Disneyland Paris looked like that earlier this year. If the park wasn't inundated with jackhole frenchies I may have enjoyed myself more. Don't get me wrong, DLP is absolutely gorgeous, but the place needs a serious operations overhaul. Oh, and Space Mountain needs to be completely torn to pieces and remade. Ouch. -
Coaster Types and Capacity
KBrylczyk replied to Solipsisto's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best - Any Disney coaster. Worst - X2 and Bizzaro (SFGAdv). X2 because of absolutely atrocious station/train design. Bizzaro because of the worst ride crew ever. -
Carnival employee checking in. Yeah, you're all correct. Carnival is HORRIBLE! The only reason I keep going back is because they pay me a decent amount of money, haha. I was planning on never going back after my last contract (finished right before Italy and Europe trips this year) but I'm going back to work on the Miracle in February 2013. That's the problem with contract work. You never know when you're gonna get something better so you need to accept the bad while it's available, haha. Anyways, if you have anything you want to know about the ships, either reply here or send me a message. I'm more than happy to fill you guys in on the inner workings of cruise ship life. I work backstage, by the way. Everything on the stage with a motor is controlled by me. Yay automation!

Just for anyone looking into the Japan option... http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-09/06/mount-fuji Yeah, that might rain on a few parades. Or lava flow on a few parades. You know, to each their own, haha. Anyways, I'm nearly 100% for the Midwest trip. I just need to double check scheduling with my boss.
