Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I'm a human. Machines don't exactly wear down in the same way. Obviously the forces are not so high as to keep them from running trains. Even without making the modifications I'm sure they can manage to run the trains and not have any affects. Again, the trains can handle alot more force then what we can tollerate. For instance TTD could easilly launch at 130-140 mph. The trains could handle it no problem. The people would not. Same idea with Maverick. -

Trains can handle alot more forces than the people riding can. So I'm sure there is testing or training that can be done while they wait for the new track sections to be built. Even if the g's are too hight in that zero G roll, running the trains is not going to cause any damage. -
This is no different than a child holding his breath to try and get his way. It doesn't work. Just suck it up and stop buying gas guzzling SUVs.

I was there on Sunday. But I am not in ACE. So no that wasn't me. -

After my first visit to KD last weekend, I actually felt that KD was kind of a good version of KI. -
TPR Valleyfair Meet THIS SUNDAY!!!

That's an optical illusion. It's really not. Roller Coaster: Wild Thing Amusement Park: Valleyfair! (Shakopee, Minnesota 55379 USA) Classification: Roller Coaster Type: Steel - Sit Down Status: Operating since 5/11/1996 Builder: Morgan ? You totally missed his point. He was saying Wild Thing being a "great hyper" was not true. Not that it wasn't a Morgan. -

And you still had a good time, right? (Though, yeah, worst-case scenario... ) Yup, that I did. Though it does really suck when you can see MF and TTD, knowing that you can't ride them. Kind of made worse by the fact that you can see them from anywhere, which constantly reminds you what you're missing. Maverick probably won't bug me nearly as much being down as the other's did. -

Well as long as the rest of them don't break down. MF,TTD,and WT all broke down on me last year. -
They fly all the time up in Canada. It's a pain in the ass thought to get them their pilot license. Too much red tape to cut through.

Not at KI. Though I've only been there once in the last couple years. But I've seen CWs Italian Job have two trains on the circuit many times. -

The worst thing about this is that Maverick isn't even a "top tier, world's best" attraction. It's a fun looking coaster, but is not a major ticket like Millenium or Dragster. Seems odd that a coaster that really wasn't getting much attention all of a sudden causes an up roar when it's delayed. -

The more expensive something is, the more complicated it probably is. The more complicated it is, the more likely that something can go wrong. -

Just curious, but does Disney give refunds for when it's attractions are closed for rehab? Cause I sure didn't get anything both times Splash Mountain and Space Mountain have been closed. -

I've got the notice right in front of me. It's a $50 cancelation fee if more then 72 hours is given. Less then 72 hours you lose your deposit (one nights stay). But I do believe you can change the date of a reservation without charge. Why should they make up for this? The park is called Cedar Point, not Maverick. Sure it sucks if it's not open, but it's a big park with lots to do. They don't give rain checks if one of their other coasters are down. I had TTD die on me the first time I was there, and last year MF blew it's lift motor shortly before I got there. It sucks, but I still had a good time. -

Sounds more like they underestimated the stress put on the train in that element. Not that the element was too intense for the riders. But that's just my guess, I'm not an engineer. -

Just PM oldJJman. He's a post man, so he'll be delivering it personally to your door. Just let him know to watch out for a TPR dvd and he'll bring it to your apartment.

Yeah, driving down there makes little sense with media day canceled. Not like I'm going to go enjoy that wonderful Sandusky night life. At least I'm only out $30 on the cancel fee. -

That's been said before, and yet they keep building Intamin. Guess I'm out the cost of a hotel room tomorow night. -

Minebuster isn't going anywhere. I have my doubts wether Cedar Fair can do much with the ride. They don't have a good track record of maintaining wooden coasters. -

Just a bit of constructive criticism. But trimming your TR down to a readable size will get you more readers and comments. Posting just about every picture you took is just going to get people to start skimming, and not reading your captions. Not too mention that some were super blurry or repeats. 150 pictuers is ALOT of pictures. It's just sheer overkill. Quantity over quality is the way to go. Just trying to give you a suggestion.
