  1. Not really saying much, as it's the only "thrill" park in the west US.
  2. American parks tend to suffer from lack of imagination. Many parks are just concrete and coasters. Emphasis is put on rides, instead of the park atmosphere. What you end up with is almost a RCT park. There's obvious exceptions. But for the most part American parks lack any sort of charm or originality that the European parks have.
  3. The average person in Ohio isn't smart enough to know how a fastpass sytem works. Back when CP had freeway I would constantly see people yelling at the employee managing the freeway entrance. And even after having it explained to them they'd have these blank looks on their faces.
  4. Cedar Point does have a fastpass system. Just as long as you're willing to spend the hundreds of dollars for the VIP package. They used to have freeway, but it failed badly.
  5. Quality over quantity. Alton Towers, Blackpool, Liseburg, Kennywood, any Disney park, Indiana Beach, etc. I'd consider all of those parks much better parks then Cedar Point, and all of them have only a handful of coasters. (with maybe 1 or two awesome ones). Once you start travelling out of Ohio you'll find that there are much better park experiences to be found. I like Cedar Point, and have been goign 1 or two times a year for 15 years, but it being the best park 10 years in a row is just BS to me. A park can be good and overated at the same time.
  6. As long as you've never been out of Ohio before.
  7. I'd be interested to see what "insiders" they used for the voting. Probably a heavy percentage of people from Ohio and/or ACErs.
  8. ^ Well I wouldn't say it means NOTHING. But close too it. Try addressing it to "I've placed a bomb at LAX".
  9. Although you don't really have to. Halo2 will run on XP, the game just has to be cracked. Halo2 was not coded to run on Vista. They just included a check that looks for Vista, and doesn't let the game run if you don't have Vista. Remove that check and the game runs fine. (from what I hear, I don't play H2 on the PC)
  10. I stand corrected then. I didn't think he was going to do one this year. That being said, there's no reason why you can't post a video and then also submit it for a contest. You might even get some feedback that would give you time to re-edit.
  11. FYI there isn't going to be a video contest this year. And even if there was, you still could post it to TPR and enter it in the contest.
  12. Also in this case it's the child that is swearing off rides. Children are much more impresionalbe then adults. I'm sure all of us have some sort of fear which can be traced back to something that happened to us as a child.
  13. Do you blame him though? It's human nature to be scared of something after such a serious accident.
  14. Where are you getting that? The website lists the drop as 85. Link
  15. Man that's terrible. I've read about far too many fatal accidents in the last while.
  16. ^ It's concept art, not a blueprint. The drop will be 85 degrees.
  17. I'm sure that 3 trains can stack in the station/final break runs easilly. It wouldn't make sense to design a ride which would hold a train on a MCBR if a train isn't dispatched quick enough.
  18. Doesn't really say much either, as Italian Job's three trains basically equal a single full size B&M train.
  19. It'll easily be the highest capacity in the park. Up until now Wonderland really didn't have any high capacity rides.
  20. Seemd really unlikely. Typically rides are relocated for reasons like park closures or removing an unpopular ride, etc. The reasons a park would get rid of a ride, would probably prevent the park from wanting to get it back again. Wouldn't make sense to rebuild some crappy ride that was demolished.
  21. I'm not sure I'm understanding this correctly. The way I interpreted it's not to prevent it from raining, it's forcing it to rain on their schedule. Like they'd seed the clouds and force a strong rain days before a holiday, thus lowering the chance of rain on the holiday? Seems kind of far fetched though.
  22. If you were going to leave it alone you just wouldn't have posted. Instead of just telling him he was wrong without giving any reason what so ever. At least he explained his opinion well.
  23. It was removed from Geuaga Lake. It's currently storage, although it looks very likely that it will be going in at Dorney next year.
  24. ^ How about Superman at SFNE? It is very, very premature to say that this ride is going to be one of the best rides in the world. It'll be good, but I really don't think it's going to be THAT good. The people around here will probably think it's the best ever, because quite frankly, they don't know any better.
