  1. "Sensitivity" - Jeffrey Lee Pierce
  2. I'm a total Voyage fanperson; it's my favorite in the park by far. But I think this is the real reason I need to make it to one of these events. It's almost shocking the way Raven comes alive at night. Glad everyone had an amazing time!
  3. This is anecdotal, but I was able to get in as a guest at SFOT last year with no issue. I remember they were keeping very careful track of how many people per party. I would love to know if this is consistent; it sorta makes sense for SF not to state a definitive answer, but it would be helpful if they did.
  4. I would appreciate that too (it was my first question when I heard about the app), as I'm bizarrely fond of not carrying my own phone in parks. Then again, continuing to bring my card is hardly an inconvenience. Oh, I missed the screenshot advice. Sounds like a good workaround!
  5. That's nice to hear, no pun intended. I was rather pleased to hear the one at the main carousel play "(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window?" last year. I know the story behind the single rider rules on Scramblers, but it's definitely only a recommendation as mentioned above. I've ridden single on at least two that did not have seatbelts.
  6. It strikes me that this could plausibly be my 3rd favorite coaster in the park, though that's really just a testament to their ride collection, modest as it is. Then again, I generally "like" B&M hypers, and still have several ranked super-high. Glad they went with the Mako name as opposed to something non-sharky!
  7. While I'm not hugely excited for this, it handily exceeds any expectations I might've had for a family coaster. Nice work!
  8. Funny, I always heard it was from "marks."
  9. "Sweet Sweet Heart" - The Vibrators
  10. "Sex Beat" - The Gun Club
  11. "Madalaine" - Winger
  12. I am having the worst (actually self-inflicted) "luck" with "terrible things I've written that other humans have unfortunately seen" today. The first thing I just want to mention vaguely so maybe my ranting will help me calm down about it, since it will be a few days before I see any fallout. Hopefully I'm being overly sensitive and no one will really care. The other thing actually involves TPR. I was searching for an old post and somehow came across one of my worst posts ever that I'd deluded myself into thinking someone had been kind enough to delete! Oh well.
  13. No, but I have seen a couple people consider them to be powered coasters... I used to be really intrigued by these rides. They're not amazing, but worth riding due to their present-day rarity. And yeah, they're super loud!
  14. This. It's easily one of my favorite parks for this kind of wandering; so many fun little details, places to relax, and attractions I either can't or wouldn't do at other parks.
  15. I buy those as a Christmas gift, and every year I must either get them no earlier than Christmas Eve, or else buy two bags and have one all to myself. Even if I do get them on Christmas Eve it's safer to just buy two bags.
  16. "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" - Black Sabbath
  17. 1. Cedar Point: It has a lot to live up to, yet still exceeds the hype. While there may be specific things that aren't perfect, I'm never one to call it overrated. The ride collection is top-notch with plenty of quality rides and the rest at least enhanced by their setting, and the atmosphere is only exceeded by the best traditional parks or true theme parks. While not as legendary as they once were, I find the operations are still mostly outstanding at both Ohio CF parks. I also love how there's so much to do in the resort area beyond riding coasters. 2. Kings Island: I'm giving this the edge over Kings Dominion due to fresher memories and one visit over KD. The atmosphere isn't the most inspired, but fairly relaxing. Even though it's far from one of my top parks in general, I had a near-perfect visit last year (despite skipping one of my favorites, FoF). Plus, at least for a non-fanboy, I'm a pretty big Beast fan. I hope they keep up the astonishingly efficient operations on Banshee (at least as long as warranted). 3. Kings Dominion: I might put the atmosphere of this park over KI. Another park that's not outstanding to me, yet garners few complaints beyond typical Cedar Fair quibbles. It sounds like they made a lot of improvements during 2014, though I've heard some bad reports from the start of this season (not sure if that's ongoing or typical opening issues). 4. Knott's Berry Farm: As with many Cedar Fair parks, the atmosphere is not my favorite, but there's definitely plenty of character here, and some well-preserved themed rides. I used to regard this park fairly poorly, but it's pretty well-rounded for a Cedar Fair park, and its reputation seems to be on an upswing. 5. Worlds of Fun: While it seems to be one of the most disdained, it's another park where I like the atmosphere more than people give it credit for. I probably wouldn't like the ride collection as much today as my once outspoken enthusiasm for Morgan hypers wanes, but it's certainly not the worst. 6. Valleyfair!: Another park that, while lackluster, is more enjoyable than one might imagine. The ride collection leaves a lot to desire, but the park itself is pleasant and relaxing. 7. California's Great America: Although a couple rides have lush settings, this park never gave me a great impression, and is pretty lacking in character. 8. Dorney Park: Boring!!! I used to actually enjoy the ride collection, but no more. Plus, the flat rides are operated with astounding inefficiency. However, despite its classic character having been decimated years ago, parts of the park do have a refreshing, scenic atmosphere. 9. Carowinds: The worst in just about every way. Uninspired rides (though I did really enjoy Intimidator in 2012), Concrete Fair setting. Unranked: Gilroy Gardens. Beautiful park with decent, creatively themed family rides; I wouldn't recommend it to all enthusiasts, but I will happily say it's worth a short visit.
  18. Gotta agree with a couple posts I've seen: it would be totally bada$$ to name this new coaster either Mako Shark or Megalodon. The fact that there isn't already a Megalodon coaster or ride out there is a total headscratcher. Plus, in spite of my better judgment on sharks, I find the idea of megalodons to be legitimately terrifying. In a good way. I too would strongly prefer a manufacturer out of left field, for some fresh blood in the hyper world, so to speak. But I doubt that'll be the case.
  19. It's possible my favorite claims its ranking only because it was my first of the type, so I had no basis for comparison, which may have caused exaggerated enjoyment (I can't decide whether that sentence sounded more nerdy or dirty). It was Banana Split at Gilroy Gardens, which I rode in 2009. I remember it being a fairly compact one, but I recall plenty of real airtime (though my understanding of airtime was still developing, so that may not be the case in reality). Most swinging ships are marginal-to-middling for me at best. I've ridden one or two pretty good ones in recent years, but they weren't notable enough for me to remember which parks. Also, Fun Forest used to allow adults on its kiddie pirate ship (very awkward to squeeze into the end rows). While I'm not sure if it qualifies as true "airtime" or some lesser phenomenon, you were standing up during the swings.
  20. NTag a couple weeks ago. For whatever reason, I had the best rides I can remember on it. It definitely seemed faster on the final hills.

  22. [Edit: Just kidding...] "Divin' Duck Blues" - Sleepy John Estes
  23. "Mean Old World" - T-Bone Walker
