New park China, Happy Valley Chengdu
themeparkman25 replied to RonLaan's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
That looks like a very cool park indeed. I cant wait to someday ride a megalite and hope that someday one comes here. Is the vekoma slc extended open? RCDB says it is still under construction. And then commenting off the guy above me, the mine train is called dragon in a snowfield, yet their is an aligator just chillin in anything but now. Oh well, I guess I cant complain when everyother coaster in America is named "boomerang" Edit: I immediatly take back that last comment. Even though boomerand is a pretty mainstream name, it definitely trumps chimelong paradise. 10 inversion coaster, dive coaster, motorbike launch coaster and family gravity coaster. Wow thanks for that knowledge chimelong, it really informs me of what im getting in to -
^Thats right, I agree with Al Michaels and everyone else that a play of that magnitude in a game of that size should have without a doubt been challenged. Cardinals cannot throw the red flag within the two minute warning, but regardless I think it was a mistake by the officiating crew to at least not look at it. But then again, has this not been the season of poor officiating? ie) denver v sd.

^I completely agree. I was wondering the same exact thing after the game when I was thinking about who would win mvp. I mean yes holmes did a good job on that last drive and that catch was phenomenal, but overall I though fitzy and warner did better. Has an mvp ever been named on the losing team before in SB history?
-
^mmm, I dont know about that. Fitzy did pull in a 64 yard td that looked like cake walk. And when cards would run it and troy would come up, he still was missing tackles. There is one distinguised one I remember when Edge was running the players left side of the field and troy came up for tackle and went low, edge cut right and troy missed completely. Like didnt even touch him, I dont know. He just didnt seem to have a big a part in this game as in games before. His most exciting moment was the coke commercial
-
Who cares if they triple covered him, that left bolding and beaton wide open. Fitzy should know that. The arizona o when it got rolling couldnt be stopped by the number one d, zona had to many weapons to chose and it just depended on which one the de didnt cover. Palamalu didnt have a strong game either.

Six Flags Magestic Fields
themeparkman25 replied to Fat-G's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
For being rct1 this isnt that bad of a park. I like the six flags concept with the naming of the rides as well as the themeing. The coasters all look fun and I agree that Bigfoot should be painted a different color. I guess though Id like to see a bigger coaster put in to the park, all three of the ones you showed were all fairly short and nothing looping! And a person like you making all that money (50 million!) ((in this economy too!!)), you should have no issue at all building a cool big ride. Keep it up! -
Run to the Hills- NL
themeparkman25 replied to the ghost's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Ghost, Great attempt but if you dont mind id like to make a few suggestions. -Dont build the ride around what kind of banking you would like to see, build it so you keep the lats down. -Tunnel test your ride (I know this isnt a final product) you had a lot of ground and stuff poking in to the track. -keep the pacing fast and flowy. The transport wheels carry the coaster across the mcbr, that shouldnt happen. you have a create idea and I think you should run with it. This has potential to be a good ride for sure. Dont get discouraged, its a tough program to use! -
Yes warner will get talks of HOF, but what is the future for him and zona? Cards are sitting on Lineart who I think has potential, but the also have the boss that is Warner? Does he stick around and try to win it all? He is 37 and him and favre are definitely getting towards the end of their careers (Though you could argue that for warners good performance yesterday) on a side though, what about that Gandy offensive tackle guy. Three holding penalties and false starts. Someone needs to tell him to relax

^uh yes. the comercials sucked!!! Doritos had some good ones and as always I though Anheiser Busch did a good job. But for sure they were below par. We had a lot of local ads too during the broadcast. It was WEAK

What a great game that turned out to be. For being well written off with a steeler win at the start, it turned out to be pretty close. Fitzgerald had a great catch and run and holmes...what a fantastic catch that was and making sure to keep the feet down. The was a truly superb game. Too bad the comercials sucked though

your not the only one. But were not even sure if the wing dip will involve actually touching the water. Nice pictures, glad to see an update on this baby Thats not true though. In the introduction of the ride by seaworld some months ago, they said that it will skim the water. "Gliding, swooping and diving up to nearly 60 mph, through four inversions on 3,359 feet of track, riders will feel as if they are a ray, taking flight effortlessly from sky to sea -- so close at times that the Manta's wings skim the waves." In the picture, you see that the actual wings of a manta ray curve up at the end, perhaps the real ride will have the same concept of the curving wing. that would allow it to reach back and scoop the water up. The tips of the wings curl up. So when the ride is at the 90 degree angle or whatever perhaps the curve will allow it to get the splash
-
Does anyone have a picture of how the wing dip slash splash down area will work? I dont get the splash part and why there is a trench dug out. THe only thing I can think of is that the entire "occean" will we filled with rays and then the little area where it splashes down will be ray-free. Is that right?

What is your local park?

Good ole' Elitch Gardens in Denver. That park is the definition of "off the shelf" coasters and rides. -

Due to overwhelmingly sufficient complaints about the poor quality of the two helixes, the final air time hill and the final brake run I decided to demo the ride from pretty much the MCBR. I have to reconstructed back to just before the first helix, this should be so much better. New helix!! You can see the supports of the old last turn off in the distance.
