  1. Why were that many rides closed? Winter rehab before spring break perhaps?
  2. Thanks for the pictures, this ride is really changing the skyline and will certainly be another thrill in Orlando. Is there any buildings around the non inverting loop? I can't image that the footers for these supports will be tiny. Will the track be directly attached to the supports, like will the main tube the ties are welded to actually be the support tube as well? Cannot wait to see pictures of that element going up!
  3. ^^Here is a couple pictures of maverick testing. From what I learned earlier, the wood shield in front is the arm movement of guests and is used to ensure rider safety. On the picture of the train in the horseshoe roll, you can see some of the pulleys and wheels used in this process. Pull through of the horseshoe roll. Pull through of the lift hill.
  4. I know they are much, but what about the classic Cyclone at Lakeside and Twister II at Elitches?
  5. ^^I noticed that too but I feel that it could just be the mud at the bottom of the trench that got kicked up in installation. At least that is what I am hoping, but maybe they go through before opening and add touch up paint, at meetings between the pieces, scuffs, etc.
  6. Sorry for this, I tried looking and could not find anything. But what is the point of doing a pull through? Does KI/B&M get statistical data from it or is it used to check the stresses on the trains? Does a pull through involve an empty train or are there water dummies along for the ride? Was it during the pull through for Maverick that the heartline was determined to be too intense? Sorry
  7. CoolCaliCoaster, come on now, he was just standing up for a friend and I'm sure he meant no negativety by it. "Weasel" just was an interesting word to use because of its multiple conotations, lets just relax alright? Talk about how awesome this coaster is going to be and hopefully how awesome the splashdown is going to look. Has anyone seen trains yet?
  8. ^ I know, I said they didn't have many. http://www.freewebs.com/griffondive/Rhine_River_dl.jpg
  9. So pretty much anyone who had an investment in the park probably lost a lot of money or assets?
  10. Looking good! Cannot wait to see the testing begin, this ride has moved along so great and its going to be great to finally see this years coasters get underway with testing!
  11. I have a question regarding the bondholder debts that are owed. The article mentioned that the bondholders were ower $255 million, but what does that mean to FPI? Will FPI have to cover the debt or will they not have to because the park went into chapter 7?
  12. That is my point though, there should be no reason what-so-ever for a person to escape from the harness. Perhaps it wasn't pushed down all the way or he was just an escape artist, but there should be no justification by Pinfari, Star City or the ride op on why the harness was not properly restraining a person. Granted the person in the video did at 1.54, but thats a stationary train, with it moving is a different scenario. Its an interesting bit of news and it will be good to know more after further investigation.
  13. ^Alright, that is a good point and I take back what I say. I guess scream just left a bad taste in my mouth of Six Flags over Parking Lot. It looks like a great ride and yes, people better be having fun on the ride instead of thinking about the concrete!
  14. Regardless though, the point of a safety restraint is to restrain you from falling. Suicide or not, there shouldn't be a reason at all that you could work your way out of the harness.
  15. It is awesome to see a project like this be planned and built! Congratulations Shane! I look at projects like this and I can't wait for the future!! Congrats again. Jordan "I am going to own a theme park someday" Darrington
  16. ^I agree, I feel like you don't see many palm trees in germany.
  17. ^That would be quite the turn around! But hoping never hurt anyone, bring on the testing!
  18. I think realistically an addition is not going to happen, I don't even think its feasible, not in this market. I mean at the first auction companies couldn't buy the park because they couldnt get financing, so now that one could pull off financing to buy a park that is liquidating assets, what makes you think they could even find the money? HRP went belly up in a matter of months, a realistic bank would not finance an addition to a park that can't even bring in money anyways. At least that is what I think.
  19. ^Its also going to cover the slab which I like, but hopefully there will be lots of canopy's and misters etc because I would image it would get pretty hot on a concrete slab in the middle of July.
  20. ^With all my respect, how is a flying coaster not very "coasterlike"? In my eyes its the ultimate bread of coaster because it can hang beneath the track or roll on top, doing whatever inversion it wants. You could say that an invert or a sit down can do whatever it wants, but inverts are not doing pretzel loops and when a sit down tries (In the case of Fahrenheit), it just doesnt have the same feel. Granted I've never ridden Fahrenheit or Speed Monster, but I personally feel they are the ultimate coaster. And lets be serious, who hasn't wanted to fly at least once in their life?
  21. Before the fire, was the backstage area used only for shooting movies or was there rides too? And now after the fire, what can we expect to see? It is great to see them rebuilding though, I never like to see parks left devastated.
  22. Im on to your game! Can you say "manta recreation" please?
  23. Great photo update! They sure have a lot of work to do though between now and may 22, its not that little of time, but its still not a lot! But at the rate they put up the ride, they can do anything. Bring on the testing!
  24. This park looks great and it's awesome that it is built in accordance with the year. Keep up the great work, can't wait to see the next update!
