Alton Towers Discussion Thread
Dark Vampire replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have seen the chained oak tree but who would have put the chains on the tree. Was it Alton Towers? Did Earl believed an old woman and died a family member by chance? Is the known of the tree? A second question. Who is the storyteller of the preshow? Could it be I heard him in a National Geographic documentary once? -
Yeah, I know what you mean. It is indeed called Extreme Rides 2. I have searched for the disc where it is on an made this picture:

Photo TR: Plopsa Indoor and Toverland
Dark Vampire replied to Wishmaster's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Thank you for the pictures. 2 years ago I went already to Toverland, and in Januari this year, I went to Plopsa Indoor with some friends. I had already heared it was really small, but never expected it was so small. But we had a great time! How many people were in Plopsa when you went? It looks very deserted. -

Efteling Discussion Thread

Intamin has solved the problem of the chain lift. Now the boats will have a stop on the chain and then they will continue their journey. Here is a video clip of a short time ago: http://ed.noterik.com/adserver/edtv_player.php?ph=BD&asset_id=18600# (first you have a 20 second commercial and then the clip of DVH begins) The Efteling has said in another video, the reason they don't have a big splash where the wave is going over the front of the boat is that people can take pictures of friends or familie in the boat. -
Coolest station you've seen
Dark Vampire replied to Eric_Smith's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Black Mamba has indeed a cool station too. Just like Nemesis. De draak (the dragon) at Plopsaland has a nice station too for a powered coaster: Here we were waiting on our ERT on De Draak in Plopsaland. -

Rock n rollercoaster: Space Mountain and other stations at Dlp are nice too. And if we are not speaking of coasters: Pirates of the Caribbean. -

Hmm I thought end 2007.Surely there will be soft openings in the early end of 2007. -
... on the EMAIL DAN links you sometimes see in the photo tr's? I bet you guys get the strangest reactions. Never thought to publice the reactions without the senders name in a tpr book or something? Would be cool, a own tpr book with the best pictures, most memorable trips, most hilarious things and stuff.

What about wusses?

I find it very interesting to help somebody of his coaster fear. Helped a friend of mine too, as his first inversion coaster was Turbine in Walibi Belgium. I think everybody here was nervous when he did his first coaster with an inversion (other people have never been afraid). First thing, don't feel any shame that you don't dare the bigger coasters! It is very normal, you need to take little steps and before you now, you are going in almost every coaster without fear. You must remember that the scariest part of a coaster is waiting in the line. (=> once you are in the coaster, you aren't nervous anymore). With myself it wasn't different. When I was 17, I did my first inversion coaster. Before that, I always thought it would be too intense for me. The only coaster I was doing was BTM in Disneyland Paris (and casey junior too). Then, I think it was my 9th trip, I went for a view at the station of Rock n rollercoaster (was the second day). It looked so cool, the launch, the station, the theming, preshow,... but I didn't go on it. The last day of our trip was a very strange experience, I just said to myself, maybe I go on Rnrc this day. After the stuntshow we had not much time anymore (we needed to catch the train) I decided to que the line like the second day, but now I was a little bit more sure that I would go on it, with the thought, if I would be too nervous, I can go back. That didn't happend and before I knew it, I was sitting in the train with the restrains closed and on my way to the launch track, only one thing was going trough my mind. "I am going to do my first inversion coaster!". I had closed my eyes mostly of the ride but I thought it was so cool. Ok, the launch was a little intens and the G forces in the inversion too, but that was cause I never done such a ride before it. The strangest thing was that I wasn't really afraid, more nervous in the que. After my Rnrc experience my coaster experience was growing rapidly. Black Mamba, my trip to England in September 2006 (Drayton, Alton, Thorpe), Walibi World, ... Now I have a list of 58 coasters. Strangely, after Rnrc came the inversion coasters of Walibi and after that I wasn't really nervous anymore. A little on the drop of Oblivion and on the launchtrack of Stealth. So the next trip I am going to do is Germany I think (if I can go in August), Heide park and other smaller parks. Hopefully, you have got some inspiration of my story, and you dare to do the bigger coasters next time, and let us know then how it was. But I am sure you would like it! -

Walibi Belgium Discussion Thread
Dark Vampire replied to Dark Vampire's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There is some disturbing news. The innovating radio navigating system which delayed the ride's opening is even now not working properly, the problem is that the ride can't operate with more than 4 trains at the time, which is a catastrophe for the rides capacity! Big worries in Waver, but the people at Doppelmayr have promised to do everything about this problem. Walibi thinks different, if Doppelmayr can't fix the problem in January, there is a big chance that they will remove Vertigo out of the park. Source: Le Soir Something to be worried about, or do you think they will not remove the ride so quickly? -
