  1. Update: After seasons of problems Walibi Belgium has finally made a decision about Vertigo. The coaster will be removed from the park after lots of testing and 2 years of problems. Vertigo was planned for the 2006 season but because the attraction had a lot of technical problems (and was more closed than open they closed the attraction for the season. In 2007 the track was being reworked and the opening was rescheduled to 2008. A few weeks after the official opening the coaster was closed down again and now the park decided they had enough of it. Hopefully the park will put something better now. Vertigo had no thrill and there wasn't a single day the coaster didn't had a malfunction. B&M of Intamin Hypercoaster would be nice as new ride for the park, but for the next season we don't need to count on anything.
  2. Great idea Jeroen! We can send both a postcard and we can buy some candy as well! (chocolate would a little difficult I think, cause it would melt?) Don't know if it has already been asked but what kinda card does she want or does it needs to be something special on the front?
  3. Rock and Rollercoaster at Walt Disney Studios Paris.
  4. I am probably going for the first time there in September so it was scary when I read the titel, hopefully no further problems so it will open, cause otherwise it would be a real bummer.
  5. Thank you for the pictures, I went a couple of weeks ago too the fair. It was my second German fair but I really love them. The atmosphere is just so great, with food and drink stands everywhere and always nicely themed! I really loved the sight if you were standing at the other end of the river, you could see the whole fair at night, with all the beautiful lights.
  6. The last one was Kwak, a very nice Belgian beer. The beer has a special glass and it's better you drink it slow, cause if you are near the end and you drink it too fast, you get a flood of beer onto your shirt.
  7. This is cool, you take a beer crate and put a engine in it.
  8. No not really, it is kinda rough and its a boring coaster. Well, I don't know how tall you are so can't give you an answer. Don't have a Cristal Ball so can't give you an answer.
  9. Well, the coaster kinda sucks. (I've heard the other coasters of this type are way better). But that's the opinion of most people here in Belgium too. They had the choice between this and a Vekoma Flying. Also it isn't a decent replacement for the great coaster, who stood once there: http://www.rcdb.com/m/nl/ig916.htm
  10. Thank you for the nice update! Ow, and better don't wear something with a spanish flag on it, tomorrow in Phantasialand.
  11. Thank you for the nice pictures, looks like a nice park.
  12. Thank you for the nice pictures! Did you like the Formule X at Drievliet?
  13. Thank you guys for the very fun day at Bobbejaanland! Which parks will you do the next weekend?
  14. Well, 50/50. It was an old zone with a few attractions like the wild mouse and the other rollercoaster. Moviepark rethemed it (as well as the rollercoasters) and they have build new attractions there like the Air Glider, the Splat-O-Sphere, and other attractions.
  15. Friday, 20th june 2008 was a big day for Moviepark Germany, cause it was the day their newest themed zone for kids would be opened. I was there for Themeparkmagic.net. At the entrance we got our tickets and our VIP badge, and also a ticket for a free onride picture at Ghost Chasers. In 2 hours the gates would be opened The VIP badges we've got And then it was time for the opening. After a little speech and a little show from Dora and SpongeBob, ... the gates of Nickland opened for the public. Very much.... Eum how do you call it in English, it's not really confetti... Doesn't matter how its called, there was very much so you got strangled in it No problem They weren't finished in time so the theming wasn't ready for opening The Avatar Air Glider The Splat-O-Sphere wasn't opened, they were testing it though. Make your own SpongeBob workshop After we had done attractions we discovered that we could eat and drink as much, and anything, as we wanted in the park with our VIP badge! What a great service! Cause it was diner time and we were hungry we've used our VIP badge Nice shakes you could get With our VIP badge you could go in the special VIP area for more free drinks and more free food. And music too! You could also get a bag of SpongeBob souvenirs including a keychain and a sticker of Moviepark Germany, and candy as well, and lots of more things. Nice drinks Food More food Alot of more food! Our Nickelodeon friends were there too for free drinks and food A little speech Music Anyone Coffee? Or rather ice cream or popcorn? Or a hotdog? Ow yeah, there were desserts as well. More music Culture beat (do you know the group in America? Popular from the song Mr Vain) was performing later on the evening but really sadly we needed to leave early because of another appointment we had Thank you very much Moviepark for the great day we had, it was really a nice party we had, with everything arranged really nicely! Nickland is a beautiful themed zone with attractions mostly for kids but adults will love it as well, if you are open for it. I liked it by the way. Thank you all for reading my report.
  16. The 24th and 25th? Ok, thanks. I'll try to meet up with you guys then.
  17. Which dates do you visit the Belgium parks? Then I can see if I don't need to work and can meet up with you guys.
  18. Heiße Fahrt in Klotten. Picture from rcdb.com
  19. The Banana Battle is open. Here are pictures from the press opening: Pictures: Jelle Van Landuyt Themeparkmagic.net People who have done the splash battle are saying that you are getting incredibly wet. Not from the effects, but from the other guests in the boats. You cant make the visitors on the side wet, and they can't do it to you. So it comes down to it that you fight the other boats.
  20. I have done Le défi de César yesterday on a big meeting (with a nice ERT on Tonnerre in the morning) and I can say it is my favorite madhouse. It is really great with all the new technology and I didnt expected all those things. I just thought that it would be a normal madhouse with very good theming, but it was much more than that. I am not giving away any secrets, just do it. The ones I have done: -The Haunting -Hex -Villa Volta -Palais du Genie -Het huis van Houdini -Kassandra's Fluch -Merlins Magic Castle -Le défi de César Hex on number 2 and Villa Volta on 3
  21. It reminds me of the Simsons episode when they are going to Itchy and Scratchy land, and when the robots in the parade are attacking the visitors. Imagine this would happen with this new animatronic in a Disney parade.
  22. Maybe some people of the European country's have heard of Studio 100? It is a brand like Nickelodeon but Studio 100 is focusing more on Europe and is mainly for the little children. With television shows, theater shows, movies, all kind of merchandise and of course, their 3 themeparks (Plopsaland, Plopsa Indoor and Plopsa Coo), they keep growing bigger every day. A park similar too Plopsa Indoor will open in Holland soon. -> Plopsaland is the biggest and was first called Melipark. Studio 100 bought it and rethemed it, and putted alot of new attractions. -> Plopsa Coo is a small park in the french part of Belgium and was also another park so they needed to retheme it too. -> Plopsa Indoor is a small indoor park and is totally new. A little presentation in english so you can understand the brand more: http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=SdDrfbk0Q_g (the youtube tag doesn't work?) Something that Plopsaland does every year (when the park is still closed), is giving the fan's a tour in the park behind the scene's and construction sites. Also they always tell us the plans they have and we can ask them questions in the "question hour". One thing they gave us more information about was that they want to build a coaster with inversion(s) and probably a launch, coming in 2009 (Plopsaland will be existing 10 years then). More on that later in this post, first the pictures from the wintermeeting. Concept art from the new entrance (picture from Plopsa fansite) A part of the group, and on the left you can see the houses of the new "main street" Standing in the passage way of the new entrance The backside of the big door, as seen on the concept art The entrance behind the door, in the circles with plastic around it, there will be coming benches A new toilet block outside the park. Build on popular demand for people who need to go but already have left the park The new attraction, a zierer jet ski Another new attraction A new station for the rollerskater, and some new theming The inside of the new shop Don't ask New bricks for the castle log flume As you can see, all the rides are based on one of their television programs. Ok, more information about the inversion coaster now. Cause Vekoma and Mack didn't have time right now, the new coaster will probably be a Zierer or Gerstlauer. One possible option they are looking for is a coaster as Lagoon: http://www.rcdb.com/ig3534.htm Looks like the park is going to focus more and more on a older group of people too, what is offcourse great news! Never thought a park meant for kids, are going to build a looping coaster. It looks like the Plopsa parks have a great future in sight. The parks are the best growing here in Belgium, and they keep growing. With the other parks investing in nothing or average investments, Plopsa beats them to it. Looks like Plopsa is the only group here in Belgium that knows how to invest in good things. If you got the chance to visit Plopsaland, do it! Hope you liked it a bit, and learned some new things of this park.
  23. Don't forget to do Indiana River in Bobbejaanland too, it is a indoor log flume. Themed in jungle style. http://www.rides.nl/attractie/fotos/indiana-river#854
  24. A very happy birthday Elissa, from Belgium!
