I didn't mean it that negatively but it was just a pun on Cedar Fair's constant need to trim rides. Dominator now uses the trim before the Cobra Roll. The only thing is that Hurler no longer has airtime, the only thing it had going for it.

I went to KD today and I must say, as much as I used to love Hurler, it's now officially a piece of crap. The trim is at the bottom of the first drop and it is REALLY strong. I even heard the GP say "That was WAY slower than it used to be!!" Thanks Cedar Fair...

It's just the type of ride. While the crew does sound very rude, it was this way when I was there last Sunday too. It's just the design of the ride . They weren't firm or polite. They were yelling it with no "please" or anything of those sorts it was just a direct command.

I went to SFA yesterday and aside from one train operations on everything except the woodies I don't see what people complain about. The park was clean and the staff went out of their way to be nice and make sure you had fun. The high five thing was actually kinda nice. Most of the ops either started chants ("WHEN I SAY SIX FLAGS YOU SAY MORE FUN!") or quizzed people about stats. Batwing's crew was the only one leaving something to be desired. The op at the panel kept yelling at people ("DO NOT PULL DOWN ON YOUR LAPBAR WE WILL DO THAT FOR YOU!" "STEP BACK FROM THE GATE NOW!"), one op kept making perverted jokes about being in the laying position (not that I mind but it's supposed to be all family-friendly and whatever), and the people checking restraints weren't concerned that it took 5 minutes to load and dispatch a train (the supervisor told them to speed it up repeatedly) As a whole SFA is a really nice park and I don't have anything to complain about other than the one train operation.

Probably Great Chase at SFA yesterday. I can't imagine how any kid would want to ride a bigger coaster after that pile of manure.

And it is not like this near almost every B&M coaster? It's really not that big of a deal... I'm sure most parkgoers aren't going to flip out over the sound of a LIM that only lasts for a few seconds.

It can't be worse than having someone scream "CHECK" in your face but really that sounds like something that's only gonna make operations slower.

Generally LIMs and LSMs also have a braking force (Superman: The Escape, and when standard LSMs/LIMs roll back) so it would more than likely stop riders while they were upside down. Also, depending on the speed of the launch, it would have to have a really stretched out transition back to upright to keep from killing riders with laterals/negatives, prolonging the time upside down. While it does seem like a somewhat neat concept, I doubt it would be without multiple faults.

I'm going to the park for the first time next Saturday and just a couple questions: -How long will the waits be on average? -Do they force you to use lockers or do they have bins in the station? -Is the food cheap, expensive, or what?

Going to the fact that it stopped in an odd place, I'm going to guess that the entire axle came off (and the picture shows that, as well) When I went on the behind-the-scenes tour at BGW the tour guide pointed out the odd things on Loch Ness Monster's wheel assemblies (they're on all Arrows) and said "Yes, it would be steel on steel and would not sound pretty, but it would get you safely back to the station if a wheel came off." so with that being said, if it were just one wheel it would probably make it back to the station, albeit a rough ride. Whether Intamin has these on their trains or not I'm not sure, but I would assume so as Arrow had enough sense to have them.

It's honestly no biggie really unless you're in a big time crunch. Operations aren't as bad as they could be but aren't spot on, either.

Absolutely epic I have mixed reactions to this. While I want to ride Son of Beast and it will be lurking there not running while I'm there this summer, I'm kind of glad that I won't have to subject myself to it for the credit. So I wanna ride it just to say I've ridden it but I don't want the awful experience.

Well Kraken is a Floorless. But Kumba is better. SheiKra's crew was actually managing to stack all 5, I forgot to mention that. I kinda like the rusty look on Kumba, personally. Gwazi has a really good layout and I'm guessing that it's just PTC's crappy trains that ruin it.

Now for Busch Gardens Tampa. Oh yes. Like SeaWorld Orlando, I was really expecting BGT to be a lot like BGW. I've been to BGT before, granted I was 5 and only rode Python, but I didn't remember much. We got to the park a little after opening because of the stupid Tampa traffic and got the Quick Queue, which is actually a good deal. Much to my dismay, there was an announcement that Kumba would be closed all day. The park was ridiculously nice. The only downfall was crappy operations. Not terrible, but not what you'd expect from a Busch park. Gwazi Tiger could dispatch 2 trains in the time Lion dispatched one and Montu triple stacked while the ops texted. Oh well. Kumba (10/10)- Upon giving up hope and making SheiKra my 50th credit, I saw Kumba testing while on SheiKra and was rather mad. So Kumba is absolutely amazing. I had heard that it was rough but honestly it's not at all. The loop kicks all of B&M's other loop's butts. The Zero-G Roll throws you out of the seat for the entire rotation. There's random floater air (the turn before the cobra roll, turn up to the MCBR) and it's just an all around creative, forceful, and fun ride. It's the epitome of what a B&M should be. Montu (9/10)- I love B&M Inverts and aside from a few things this was no exception. Montu kicks butt. I love the Zero-G and the Batwing, while not what I'd expected (it was my first Batwing), was still an awesome element. Now the MCBR is the only fault. It kills everything but the final 2 inversions. You lay awkwardly on your side after coming off the MCBR and the loop is godly, but then after that you dick around until the Corkscrew. SheiKra (7/10)- I was expecting a whole lot more from SheiKra given my love for Griffon, but it wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be. It shuffled, which was a shock as Griffon doesn't. SheiKra is also not forceful at all. Just a meh ride, unique and all but not so much thrilling and super-omg-orgasming-in-my-pants fun. Scorpion (7/10)- I really didn't know what to think of Scorpion while waiting in line. They only have one train, which I guess is logical cause they can't replace them. Anyhow Scorpion is really powerful to be so small! I wasn't expecting that loop to throw me forward as badly as it did. Aside from some aggressive (not really rough but not smooth) parts in the helices, it was an epic ride. Gwazi Tiger (4/10)- Ugh... I loved it so much when I rode it first thing in the morning. It was smooth and I was like "Everyone who said this sucks is wrong!!" and it was an amazing coaster. I rode it once again after the day went on and holy sheet. I have NEVER thrown up because of a ride but I've also never been shaken and beaten as badly as Gwazi did. Gwazi Lion (4/10)- Like Tiger I rode it first thing in the morning and it was rough as all get out then so I didn't wanna risk another ride later in the day. Air Grover (4/10)- Like its brother in Williamsburg, it's a fun kiddie ride and had an op with epic spiels. Nothin else much to say. But you need a lot of money. Sure, Six Flags has the space to enclose Joker's Jinx, but they certainly don't have to money to build an entirely new building around a ride that operates perfectly fine outside. There'd have to be a way to keep it cool (metal + a sunny day + no means of keeping it cool = yeah...) which would cost a substantial amount. Six Flags could better spend less money on adding some new signage, on-ride audio, and some new paint. Generally speaking, don't new buildings require more permits, which also cost money? New paint and new trains don't require that. Not that I don't like the idea of an enclosed ride, it's just not a great move financially when something much cheaper and much easier could be done.

The enthusiast in me would love to see a shiny new B&M Invert but for a new park it probably wouldn't be the best move. Most new parks, unless owned by a major chain, start out as a local park that most local families spend their weekend at. So in keeping with the new park mindset, I vote GCI because of the low height restriction, lack of inversions to scare away younger riders, and the fact that it'd be a cheaper overall initial investment.

Personally, the times that I used the single rider line other than opening day didn't cut down on the wait time. A lot of people abuse it and go in as a group then complain when they get separated. However on Sunday, they were using the regular queue as front row only and single rider line for all other rows.

Over my Spring Break I was able to go to two parks in Florida so I chose Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Orlando. Overall they were amazing parks. First up, SWO. SeaWorld Orlando was a really really nice park. The operations for the most part weren't amazing but weren't as bad as Kings Dominion's. I rarely eat at parks so I don't know how the food was. I guess this was just my stupidity but even with a map it took me a while to figure out where I was going, like I couldn't figure out where I was on the map I also got the Quick Queue Unlimited which REALLY helped with the lines. Manta (10/10)- Manta was my first Flying coaster and I honestly didn't know what to expect. I didn't expect that I'd like the flying position that much but it was honestly an amazing feeling. I rode five times in the back row and once in the front, and all were amazing. The back provides Gs that make you feel like you're going to melt through the back of the seat during the Pretzel Loop. The front kinda held you upside down for a second on the entry to the Pretzel Loop while waiting for the rest of the train to catch up. The entire ride was completely smooth, it didn't have any little spots that most B&Ms have. The ops were good about not making you sit in the odd position on the brake run for too long. The only problem is that Manta breaks down a lot. It went down thrice during the day and at one point they said it wouldn't open for the rest of the day (it reopened right as we were leaving) Kraken (8/10) I had heard that Kraken was forceless (as usual for a B&M Floorless) and from riding Hydra and Dominator I was expecting it to have a rattle. I was wrong in both respects because not only was it completely smooth and it actually had forces. I love straight drops as opposed to twisting drops because of the airtime and Kraken gently floated you down the first drop. None of the trims were being used and the MCBR didn't touch it. I loved the second loop because it's unique in that most rides don't have a vertical loop after the MCBR and it had a handchopper going into the tunnel. Aside from some lame transitions (before the MCBR, before the final brake run) Kraken is what a B&M Floorless should be. Journey To Atlantis (6/10) Journey To Atlantis was a unique ride. Part log flume, part roller coaster, part dark ride. Since I hate Escape From Pompeii I wasn't expecting to like Journey To Atlantis' dark ride part, but it was really cool. I hardly count it as a credit, though. I didn't get wet at all cause I was in the back row. Overall a solid ride with amazing theming. I don't think It is the Anti-Rollbacks but more of a problem with the Red Train interacting with the roll-backs when its not suppose to. I rode Red and Silver yesterday and couldn't understand why the Red train was sporadically interacting the roll backs. Sorry if this has been asked, but are these fairly unique anti-rollbacks? I haven't been to KD yet this season so I've not seen them yet. Nope they're Intamin's standard eddy-current anti-rollbacks. That's why Intamins have silent lift hills.

Intimidator 305 is really having problems with the anti-rollbacks. It went down today around 3 and didn't come back up until 7:30 and then it went back down. The magnets on them apparently don't work right and they actually drag instead of floating there, which makes a ridiculous amount of noise.
