  1. XC practice on the track with an approaching thunderstorm sucked in an awesome way. It's hell, but it makes you feel so alive.
  2. I have to say, Sierra Falls is actually probably my favorite water ride they have. Sucks that it's leaving, but ah well, it's smarter to put the kiddie coaster in that area anyway. Plus, there are still 4 more water rides at SFMM, so no big deal really. But for all intensive purposes, we need to save this historic landmark at SFMM. I remember going down that slide with my grandma, my other grandma, my other other grandma, Master Katy, my god-grandma, and my Compound Overlord (each ride with a little bit of action thrown in ). The fact that they're willing to trash such a great piece of my personal history for a crappy relocated roller skater that has 2 clones within driving distance is SICKENING. Honestly, I'm so truly disgusted by this choice, I urge everyone to write SFMM angry letters and send them pictures of the rashes they got from when Sierra Falls's water touched them. Such a shame.
  3. Matthew McConaughey was at my school on Wednesday and was going to talk to my cross country team, but bailed while we were getting dressed. Therefore, my opinion remains unchanged: he's a bitch.
  4. Power Out -> Rebellion - Arcade Fire at Madison Square Garden. Best. transition. ever. Link to video
  5. HOLYMONKEYBALLS. Best. SFMM. Year. EVER!!!! That ZacSpin looks effing awesome!!!!
  6. The last few times I've ridden Ghostrider, I've had no real problems with roughness in car 7 row 1. I mean it's sure not smooth, but it's not the beating that I'm used to Ghostrider giving. Plus, the drop is more fun in the back!
  7. I went to the Arcade Fire concert at the Shrine last night (Oct, 7). Oh my God, one of the greatest things I will ever witness. The crowd got so into it, PLUS, they played Deep Blue, which is one of my favorites from The Suburbs, and one that they've rarely played on tour.
  8. I kind of love how they keep building the same ride with a drop 1 degree steeper each time
  9. I believe SFMM's policy is no costumes for people who aren't like 7 and under (or some certain age), so IDK if that's a good idea...
  10. I'm on the kinda let down side for this as well. However, I was also kind of let down when I saw the animation for I305, and that turned out to be awesome. Hopefully this will do the same.
  11. ^Isn't that basically what Power Keg is?! (on steroids, of course) This should be interesting. I would LOVE if they dipped into the Arrow catalog. Intamin...and sometimes S&S are the only current companies that really impress me at the moment. If S&S brought back some of that Arrow innovation with modern day standards, they'd produce awesome rides.
  12. I'm with EBL on this one, I haven't had a bad ride on Viper in the longest time (probably the summer of 07 or something). And when you're not being bashed around, which is usually the case, you can really appreciate its awesome layout. I prefer it to Scream and a bunch of other rides at Magic Mountain. I guess it's even more of a priority to me than Tatsu is. But that's my opinion, I'm sure there are many that think differently.
  13. I'm gonna need some volunteers to help reassemble my Model-T, but after that, I'm so down to help.
  14. What I don't really get is how the Big Dipper is going to mean anything to anyone out of the GL area. Like I mean it'd be cool to have some kind of sentimental attachment to it and be able to ride it again. But people in other cities don't give a crap about this, and the few people that feel strongly enough to save this ride are gonna have to travel x amount of distance to ride their beloved coaster. I could maybe see it worth saving if they were going to rehab it and keep it in the same spot, but moving it just makes it a mediocre coaster in a place that doesn't need it.
  15. ^You're right. The reason B&M doesn't do it is because that too much force would be exerted on your chest. Like going through a pretzel loop inverted would be ridiculously uncomfortable!
  16. Flyers honestly aren't scary in the least bit. Basically, if you point the fin outward, you'll go up, and if you point it downward, you'll go down. The most fun is when you change your direction really fast, but most parks discourage that. Basically, it's like an alternative and slightly more fun version of the Dumbo ride at Disneyland. However, I speak from personal experience, maybe there are people on here who actually know how to make Flyers much more exciting.
  17. I LOVE Screamin Demon! It had the most spinning on any spinning coaster I've ever been on! ...even if it was a bit small. The worst for me is still Hurricane at SCBB. Kong and Knott's Boomerang also suck pretty hard.
  18. To be honest, that didn't look all that amazing. It kinda looked slow and boring, and it seems like they used video effects to make it seem otherwise. Nonetheless, I'm still very excited for this! Intamin makes good stuff like 99% of the time, so I fail to see why this would be any exception.
  19. Angry_Gumball, I'm gonna agree with Chroniq and say that it's a good proof of concept. As a TPR user, I'd prefer if the rides in the background weren't really definable (if you use rides), because then it takes away from the whole general theme park aspect. Although in this case, Robb and Wes's opinions trump all, so don't listen to me if they say otherwise.
  20. New Mambo-Bob Mintzer
  21. It's not really much different than this...
  22. The fire effects still work fine (when there's no wind), and X2's audio works probably 90% of the time (I don't recall ever getting a bad audio ride, but people complain about it a lot).
  23. ^Terminator's audio died after about 8 months. Both X2 and Terminator's fog seldom work too. SFMM is just not THAT great with keeping their special effects running. Edit: If you really wanna get nitpicky, Goliath lost its tunnel fog, and so did Batman. But they restored the Batfan earlier this year, so they're definitely on the right track
