  1. Convenient how she didn't respond to this... Pirate Splash Battle back by Giraffica anyone?
  2. False, that title belongs to Thunderation at Silver Dollar City. It's like Adventure Express with an actual drop after the lift hill.
  3. Is that a joke...? Spongebob is very smooth in the front middle seats. Otherwise, you shuffle in your seat a lot. Alright guys, the joke wasn't funny the first time...
  4. Don't know if this has been posted, but when I put the GForcify link for Valleyfair into Facebook, I got this. Appears to be some sort of app to distort a picture of yourself, similar to the Walking Dead's Zombify Yourself app. No idea what G-Forcify-ing yourself looks like though...
  5. Wow! All I can say. Awoke to a TPR staple, USPS Flat Rate Box at my doorstep this morning. Tore it open as fast as I could and was blown away! Thank you so much TPR. We've got stuff from: -B&M -Intamin -Premier -Maurer Söhne (Including DVD and Lanyard) -ProSlide -GCI -Gravity Group (With cards for each of their major coasters) -Rocky Mountain -Sally (with a piece of chocolate, lol) -WaveLoch(! That's my Flowboard at the top of the pic) -Outlaw Run announcement -Alterface -KMG -Gerslauter -Huss -Zamperla (Another Lanyard and an Air Race pin) -4 Industry Magazines -LoQ -The daily IAAPA Programs -A Convention Map Sorry for the Potato Pic.
  6. Hey guys, this was my first year entering the contest and I'm really hoping to win! I took this picture at Valleyfair in the Planet Snoopy section with my little $100 camera. Here is the link: http://www.coaster101.com/2013/07/16/photo-contest-2013-voting/ Thanks everyone! I call it "Steel and Wood(stock)"
  7. I've heard people say they aren't announcing anything at SDCC, but why wouldn't they announce The Walking Dead Part 2 there this year? They've got a TWD panel with all of the stars, would make sense to me.
  8. Yes, we did the whole park over on the Sunday after the fourth. Should be no problem, as there isn't a ton of rides to do. Just make sure you get on all the coasters, RiverBlast, Flooded Mine, The Giant Swing, and you should have a great day. I'd recommend doing the Molly's Mill Buffet Breakfast. It opens an hour before the park, and for $10 you can't beat it. Also, make time to do the cave tour, it's free and a really unique attraction. Buy a souvenir bottle and use it to get $2.50 frozen lemonade and Barq's Red Cream Soda Floats all day. SDC is by far the best park in MO. All of their coasters are fantastic, and the atmosphere at the park is unmatched anywhere else in the country (yes, including Dollywood).
  9. Do you guys like the idea of putting both of the mazes in the same soundstage, or should they be placed as far apart as possible? Also, I'm having a little trouble thinking of iconic locations from CITW that they would want in a maze. I'm assuming the scene with all of the glass cages (done with mirrors), and probably a hallway with elevators lining each wall with monsters popping out when the doors open, but apart from that it's a fairly standard cabin and an office building. EDIT: Forgot about the scene with the two-way mirror, and the ending inside of the temple-ish room.
  10. http://www.proslide.com/proslide-ride-ranked-1-by-yas-guests/ According to this, it's a guest favorite at Yas.
  11. Completely serious question. If a kid wheres a pair of shoes that make them taller, how is that any different than them being the right height without shoes? They're 54" either way, and as long as they don't take their shoes off, what's the harm in allowing kids to where taller shoes? Also, what are lines typically like? I don't need super exact times, but are we talking CP crowds or WoF? And thanks for the advice guys.
  12. Couple of questions for you guys from a first time visitor. Is there a crowd calendar out there for the park anywhere? Looking at visiting Thursday August 22nd, along with the preview pass the night before. Some questions: ~How do our dates sound? I know school will probably still be out, but hopefully visiting midweek will work to our advantage. ~Do they really make kids take their shoes off to measure their height? My little brother is right at the 54" mark with his shoes on, but I don't think he'll quite make it without shoes. ~Their Fast Track Pass seems like a joke. $50 for 9 rides? Any reason to actually pay for this? ~Does the park usually get busier during the last 2 1/2 hours with all of the preview pass entering? Thanks guys!
  13. After seeing the IAAPA videos and how involved they seem with ProSlide, I don't think that's very likely.
  14. I'm going to venture out on a limb here and say that whatever Water Slides we see put in in the next few years will be of the ProSlide variety, which isn't necessarily a bad thing; I've just seen some great new concepts lately from White Water West. That being said, a quadruple SuperLoop tower would be a welcome addition to such a great waterpark lacking in body slides.
  15. I don't think I would have lasted this long on the internet if I listened to sites like that.
  16. Did you miss my sarcasm about the article...? And I've heard the billion dollar number a few too many hundred times for it not to be somewhere in the ballpark.
  17. A quick google search reveals many sources: http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=11742 For instance, here's a fun article to read, lol
  18. ^^Any word on whether they will spin independently of the center axis?
  19. The base for the spinner is in, just missing the RV's and the center piece.
  20. Alright, I'll admit, maybe I jumped to conclusions. I just got a little annoyed after seeing who was running this story. And like I posted above, once Disney starts charging for Fast Pass, this won't be a problem, if the current GAC sticks around that long. Now if these parents are "smart enough to skip the Disney lines", why don't they just get their own GAC and skip the guide...?
  21. Oh c'mon! A real balanced new team would have done the same experiment at multiple parks, and I would hope they would have the balls to do it at their own park. You can't tell me nobody inside NBC/Universal had an evil thought when putting this piece together.
  22. I think that news story is disgusting. Not the act itself, but the fact that the Today Show is going after Disney. I mean, they are owned by the same company that owns Universal, Disney's biggest rival. I would love to see ABC's Good Morning America go into Universal Studios Hollywood and do the exact same thing. Universal Studios Florida is my favorite park, but c'mon! This won't be a problem in a few years though, when Fast Pass becomes a paid service. No need to pay a guide by the hour when you can just buy the Fast Pass system for the day.
  23. My best advice: Line up for Splashin' Safari's opening about 20 minutes before it opens. Get your stuff put down somewhere, and high tail it back towards Wildebeest and Mammoth. Mammoth should be your second stop as the capacity is a little better, but try to follow the crowd to the one where it seems more people are heading to. I haven't been this year yet, so I don't know if people are still heading to Mammoth first. Do the one that looks like it'll be busier, then hit the other one. Get over to Bakuli and then make a loop around the water park. Finish the water park by exiting near Giraffica and make your way through Thanksgiving to enjoy the rest of the park. The park itself shouldn't be too busy, but the water park will always have a crowd.
