What have you been hit in the head with?
DiSab replied to zaneymon's topic in Random, Random, Random
Baseball, volleyball several times, and a minivan hatchback trunk door. Almost got hit by a falling stage light a few years ago - had it hit me, I probably wouldn't be here right now. Glad it missed. -

^^He's not saying they removed the ride to get a better view of Mind Eraser, but rather that the removal of the ride allows for a better view. EDIT - music11 beat me to it -
I think it would be a lot of fun to be on this show. Just wondering, how'd you do on the rest of the course?

Hey jazz man, hey sax man - Listen to your junkman.

Does it have something to do with nanotechnology? Wish I could be more specific, but I have no idea beyond that

I'm loving the look of the layout and the colors. I'll get a review up later today or sometime this weekend - I'm getting sick and too tired to do it now. But from the pics, it looks fantastic. -

It really does look odd right now, but that's only one piece, from one angle. I'm sure once the ride starts going vertical it'll all look better and make sense. But it definitely looks like extra truss supportage (is that a word?!) to reduce the vertical supports they'll need to use. -
I agree, I doubt this will be a top ride for most people (at least for us enthusiasts - the GP will probably eat it up ["OMG! LIGHTS!!!1!11!"]). But it definitely looks like a lot of fun. The non-inverting loop is certainly something unique, and looks like it'll be somewhat disorienting - especially for those who aren't expecting it until they ride it. The brakes don't seem to kill the momentum all that much, and it does look to be decently forceful from the videos posted. If nothing else, the Treble Clef will definitely have a decent amount of Gs, and it looks like the Plot Twist will, too. But all the technology that Universal has poured into this thing will definitely grab people's attention, and keep them coming back. Which is the main goal, in the end.

Very sexy. I may have to pick up a set when they're released. -
^I was looking at the Wiki article too. In the show, they start with 24 and only the fastest 12 in the Qualifier move on. It looks like they only list those who move on to the second round in the article, since they only show the 12 fastest contestants' names on the screen.

^^That's similar to my view on it. No one can deny his accomplishments and influence within the music world. However, in my eyes, I can't get over his "endeavors" he did in more recent years. I know a lot of people will probably disagree with me on that, but its how I feel. His music is fantastic, and it's sad he won't be able to make a comeback, but I won't miss his other antics.

As sad as it is, my last one was a Milwaukee's Best Light, or Beast here. Pathetic, I know, but when it's under $5 for a 6-pack and I live on a budget, it's worth it.

After I saw this threat, I started watching episodes on Hulu. It's now my favorite show ever. Congrats Elissa. That quote will go down in TPR history for a long time.

I broke my right arm years ago when I was in preschool. A word for the wise - don't jump off a hay wagon and land on your arm. It can only lead to pain. Besides breaking bones, I've also split open both my chin and the top of my head. The chin was when I slipped on my driveway when I was in kindergarten, breaking my fall with my chin. I was lucky I didn't chip any teeth or break my jaw as well. The top of my head was on the sharp corner of a mirror. Hurt like hell.

You would also think it's a no-brainer to not clime 2 separate fences and walk around under a operating ride, too. It seems that something would need to be done before one is brought to the US.

That's exactly the way I feel about the ride. I've ridden it both with and without the loop. Back then it had the loop, at least you felt somewhat "rewarded" for all your pain - going upside-down on a woodie. Now, there's really nothing to get out of the beating you take. I've said it before (as have many others here) - the layout is a complete lemon. Its extremely boring. There's really no more reason to put up with it. I say give it the wrecking ball and light it on fire, and start fresh, using that land for something worthwhile. -

Any coaster themed to alcohol get my seal of approval - as well as those of the majority of members here. Maybe it'll be Bastard Child of Son of Beast - sponsored by Beast (AKA Milwaukee's Best Light). And it'll have a beer splashdown! -

Well, it is an Intamin prototype, and we all know the track record with those. -
Isn't Balder the god of thunder? I think I remember reading that somewhere.

It also begs the question - does he taste like bacon?

That's pretty sweet. It would be really cool to see this at a US park.
