I'm not a big soccer fan, but World Cup soccer is one thing I will watch continuously. There's something about it that I just love.

Circumstances -- RUSH

That is a weird looking track. Not sure if I like how the red steel on top of the wooden supports. But the thing that really looks odd is that they have those bolts sticking up on the top of the track. I'm sure the train wheels are going to run between the bolts, but it still looks really odd.

I hadn't changed mine in a while, so I needed something fresh. Mine is the logo for RUSH's new summer tour - the Time Machine Tour.

I mean, even if they find a way to smooth it out so it isn't rough... They're still probably not going to be able to do anything about the actual layout - which is this ride's real problem. It may end up smooth, but its still going to be painfully boring. I've said it before, I'll say it again, and I'm sure many people agree with me - the best renovation that this ride can go through is to turn it into the world's biggest bonfire.

It could be the Guinness talking, but here goes... I honestly do not see the hype surrounding this ride. It just looks like a glorified mine train with a new element thrown in there. Certainly not what they made it seem. Maybe once the trees and stuff grow in more it will make the outdoor section better, but as it is now, definitely not what I was expecting. It looks like it will have some good sections of airtime, with a few of the hills and the drop section, but not really anything exceptionally exciting. And the black-robed things in the station just seem to add to the cheese factor more than it should. (Maybe it will work better at night, but from what I can tell, the middle-of-the-day sunlight doesn't do a whole lot of anything). Over/under on how long it will be before the vertical-drop section breaks down for a significant amount of time? It is an Intamin, so I'll set it at 5 weeks. Any takers?

Looks good to me. I'll have to stop by when I'm in the area. You wouldn't be selling your product in any areas in Ohio yet, would you?

Freewill -- RUSH

I'll agree that RUSH actually playing their instruments would have confused the audience to no end. You'd think that lip-syncing to a song wouldn't be very hard - it blew my mind last night when they couldn't keep the timing down at all. But from new info I've been hearing, RUSH was approached to play at either the opening or closing ceremonies, but ended up turning it down because they were too busy in the studio recording, and didn't want to drag out all the equipment to play one or two songs. But at least they were invited to play, and not just shunned entirely.

Drip drip drip! The way to win this contest is to make sure you eat plenty of bacon and asparagus before hand. Its a sure win.

These two rides don't even share any inversion elements between them. The zero-g and inline twists are similar, but I wouldn't really count them as the same experience. I think the ride experiences will be different enough to set them apart. Besides, it's Canada, it doesn't have to make sense.

I've been playing a lot of CoD4 regularly the last few months, but me and my clan will be moving over to BFBC2 this week. Looking forward to it - I missed out on the beta but from what I hear, it was awesome enough to release as the full game. Can't wait to play it.

I mean, seriously, how could they snub Canada's greatest musical export - and arguably their greatest overall export? Such a kick to the crotch.

The Closing Ceremony was good and all, but some of the performer choices were turrible. I mean, seriously? No RUSH?! Blasphemy.

^Sadly, not. I don't have a car on campus, so its difficult for me to get out to different places to pick up beer that isn't sold at UDF. But hopefully that'll change soon.

The last beer I had was, sadly, (several) Bud Lights at the bar tonight. But the last "good" beer I drank was Sam Adams' new seasonal, the Noble Pils. Much hoppier than their other beers, but I really liked it. My kind of beverage.

Similar to the other one posted earlier, but this one looks a little sturdier. Still pretty sweet.

I'm just disappointed that RUSH didn't perform during the Opening Ceremony like they were rumored to. Apparently they were there for the Ontario portion, but it was cut due to sensitivity after the accident. Understandable, but disappointing. And I'm shocked that it took an accident of that caliber to prompt changes to the end of the Sliding Center run. It's great that they've added the wooden wall to keep people in the trough, but you'd think that someone would have realized sooner that they'd need it...

^RVII was originally slated to have the single-bench PTC, but they decided to switch to the two-bench trains to avoid any potential problems with a ride they had worked to hard to get built. Also, I'm really looking forward to the new trains. My fat ass can barely fit into the PTCs anymore, so if these have more room, I will be one happy person.

I wonder if Jeff Johnson is in that video...?

Those teachers are the absolute worst. I had one over the summer here at UD - one that some of you may have heard of. Larry Schweikart. I hated the man. I dropped his class after 2 classes because I absolutely could not stand his ultra-uber-conservative views. If you wrote a paper or exam essay from a viewpoint that conflicts with the conservatives, you failed. No questions asked. And he was proud that he was named the #2 most dangerous conservative in history - only disappointed that he wasn't named #1. And he's been on Fox News multiple times - you know something's wrong with your life when you're a regular on Fox News. I seriously wanted to clock the man when I was in his class - and there's not much that gets me this riled up.
