  1. The structure needs to come from upper management. We have seen time and time again how on Undercover Boss they go into their own company and see that their own procedures and policies are not being enforced. Management needs to be more vigilant about being out and about within their respective companies to make sure rules are being followed and customers are being treated correctly. Many many many times I have been to Six Flags parks and ride employees are having personal conversations about who they are dating, who they think is hot, who is arguing with who, saying personal jokes over the loud speaker and so forth. There are SOME that can be amazing. At times El Toro's staff can really be on and get the trains out of the station ASAP. Six Flags has people applying all the time. It is not like they do not have the ability to get amazing employees. If places like Dollywood, Hersheypark, Disney, Knoebels, and so forth can hire employees that actually want to work there and treat the customers well, then so can Six Flags. They reply to heavily on the fact that when you work there you can go to the park for free. All of the advertising I see around the parks relies on that. I think this should not be the only selling point. I think they should slow down the build up of the parks and start working on the over all experience. There are reasons parks like Dollywood, Hersheypark, Knoebels, Disney, Universal, Holiday World, and so forth can bring in the numbers without having to put in a brand new multi million dollar attraction every year. They start with treating their employees with respect with then trickles down to how the employees treat guest. Also they put a lot of focus on who they hire. When I was at Dollywood I mostly saw older employees not 95% high school and college aged kids who are there just for a paycheck. Six Flags as a company gives us some amazing rides but they need to start realizing the whole experience is not about the rides and that there is so much more. I understand the philosophy of you have to spend money to make money. I agree with that. However, there are ways to spend money that do not include a new multi million dollar coaster or simply shifting rides around to pull in guest.

  3. I could not agree more about Sidewinder! I LOVE Boomerangs (I know I'm a rare breed with that) and I think this one is extremely comfortable.
  4. ^ That is awesome that he was such a trooper. My partner rides almost nothing and still puts up with my obsession. He was trooper a couple weekends ago for my first trip to Fiesta Texas. We arrived before they opened and stayed till closing. I was able to get him on the Gully Washer and train.
  5. I agree. There is lots of space back behind Frisbee. Plus this could bring more people to that area. When I was there the Boardwalk area was the least populated.
  6. You have very valid points here. I did not think of it all that way.
  7. That is such a fun event. I just wish they had all of the fun flats open in the front of the park. I will miss this going forward since I moved to Texas.
  8. ^ Yes, TPR has helped me dramatically with finding people to meet up with. I plan on using this when I go to SFOT next summer if none of my friends in that area are free.
  9. I am leaning towards a dark ride. With the cartoonish look of the pictures I doubt its a permanent haunted house. Also they already have the Reeses Cup Challenge so in my opinion it would be silly to have 2 shooting dark rides. Red, White, and Blue to me gives it an American feel but then the crystal ball throws that off. Sorry, I am just thinking out loud here.
  10. Yes, Superman was open. I forgot to write about it. It is a really good floorless - one of the best ones I have ever ridden.
  11. So I finally went to this park this past Saturday. Let me start with how beautiful this park is. The themeing is pretty good in my opinion. My favorite sections are Crackaxle Canyon, Rockville, and Fiesta Bay Boardwalk. This and SFNE are now my two favorites looks wise. I also enjoyed the layout and how easy it was to get around the park. In my opinion the park was really crowded so we opted to get the gold Flash Pass so we did not have to rush all over the park. I LOVE this option so I can actually stop and enjoy things instead of having to make sure I get to certain rides at certain times of the day. This came in handy because without it I probably would not have been able to ride every ride in the park that was open (not counting the kiddie rides of course) multiple times. In my opinion the operations were really good on most rides. The only issues I had were them not filling trains when the lines were 2+ hours for some coasters, the girl running the Whirligig did not let us on when there were empty seats (I counted 10), and there should be two operaters at the Hustler since they have to go and unlock each gondola one by one. They have some decent flats. The Hustler was fun but REALLY hard to spin. Even the operator told me some are hard to spin after I ask him about it. Twister runs a terrible program. It only flips twice. The preparation of the ride last longer then the ride it self it seems, especially when they have to put up the restraints after already putting them down. Scream was a surprise hit for me. I normally do not like S&S towers because they do not fall "heavy" like other drop towers. However, I love that it both shoots you up and then drops you. I have never been on one that does that. Frisbee was really fun but the program runs way too long. It seemed to run double what others do. The Scooby Doo dark ride was a nice way to get out of the heat and luckily its on Flash Pass because it was over an hour wait. I was statisfied with Waverunner's cycle as well. The Sky Screamer was fun as usual. I love that you can see the entire park from the top. Whirligig looks so small with Sky Screamer so close. Gully Washer was OK in my opinion. Not as good as Dorneys and not worth the 50 minutes we waited (I know its on the Flash Pass, there were 3 of us and we only paid for 2 since my BF does not ride anything but the train and this). This was the first park I ever been to and seen a long line for a up charge ride - the sling shot had a decent line all day. The flume was good in my opinion. I enjoyed the little up hill action after the first drop. Motorama was cute. I loved all of the coasters. We rode Goliath first and after waiting 35-40 minutes that is when we decided to get the flash pass. It was a enjoyable coaster and I had no head banging at all. Their Pandamonium was really fun and the car spun really fast. This was a walk on all morning which was pretty neat. Poltergiest is so much more fun then Joker's Jinx at SFA. Iron Rattler is a really fun coaster but also really short. We rode it quite a few times. I never rode front seat but the back seat was my favorite. The Boomerang was surprisingly really good - I had no head banging. Also I have never seen a boomerang have a 2+ hour long line before. The first half of Road Runner Express was really fun. I did not like coming right out of a helix into the breaks. I was anticipating more. But it was still fun. We skipped the water park totally because it had a 30+ minute wait just to get into it. Also with Schlitterbahn so close everything else is just so mediocre. Also the only show I watched was the one at the end of the night. I was not interested in any others. For some reason I just do like shows where they do snippets of other songs. I'd rather see original shows.
  12. JbDubs - Paintywaister
  13. Thank you all. The only show he keeps talking about is the one at the end of the night. The rest of the day I am sure will be getting them all from ride to ride so I can get my credits lol
  14. Fiesta is a "show" park. you will regret it if you don't take in "Rockville" and whatever show is playing in Zaragoza (the big theater in Los Festivales). If you enjoy Country music, there are a couple of good bands performing in amphitheaters thruout the park, and the group that plays in the beer-hall (in the "German" section) near Bugs Bunny Rapids is quite fun too, if you can time your meal to their schedule. but really. . don't bypass the two big shows. Thank you for the information but I am weird. When I go to parks I pick a ride and go around in a circle. I HATE jumping from one side of a park to another. I go from ride to ride. Plus I am going with a none enthusiast group so it will be hard to convince them to do all that. I have heard they have nice shows. My partner is a none rider (sucks falling for someone who hates rides lol) so I am sure we will end up going to a few shows.
  15. Supposed to make my first trip to the park on the 19th. I hate that its a Saturday but I gotta go when I get the chance, right? I look forward to finally seeing this park. My partner who grew up in Texas says its a pretty park. I sure hope all the coasters are running. Flash Lane I am sure if a definite?
  16. WOW! Following this thread really makes me realize how bad I need to get my priorities straight so I can enjoy more trips with TPR, especially over seas ones.
  17. Looks like an amazing trip! Everyone looks like they are having a blast.
  18. I could not agree more. Superman is nothing special to me.
  19. ^ Thank you! I have been saying this for a while now about this park and I know others have too. They seemed to really see what the park turned into and are ready to turn it around.
  20. ^ Good idea. I am pondering the idea of a Disney character. I found a silhouette of Ariel that I love but I also like the idea of getting a hidden Mickey on the inside of a finger or behind my ear.
  21. ^ Looks great!
