  1. yep.. I'll never understand those that can't just enjoy a park for what it is, and have to bitch and moan. in the past couple of years, SFoT got: Justice League dark ride, Joker Coaster, Riddler pendulum, and Catwoman next gen enterprise. not to mention the beautifully realized Gotham City area improved with these additions, an the perfect retheme in Harley's Spinsanity. go back a year before, and Texas Skyscreamer. the park has Shockwave, NTAG, and a bunch of other coasters. go enjoy, and stop complaining. sheesh. Totally agree! I live in Maryland and most enthusiast bash Six Flags America. I know its not the best and the clientele that go there are questionable but I have been able to find the good in it. The customer service has done a 180 in the past 5 years, they keep it clean, and we have a water park that is included unlike this park. I agree. Why this park does not have a tram system between the parks is beyond me. I drove past the water park when I was down there a few weeks ago and it looks nice, but its not included with our Six Flags America season pass so we opted for NRH2O and totally loved it! Its a much cheaper option and they have RC cola hehe - My favorite!
  2. I was at ZDT's about two weeks ago and thought how Switchback or Wooden Warrior would be perfect for Adventure Park USA. It really just depends on how much money they would like to put into the park. For a park that size that would be a sizable investment. At least they finally installed a second coaster which to me shows they are trying to make it bigger.
  3. I was there literally two weeks ago on 7/6. The dry side of the park was dead. The longest we waited was about 45 minutes for the new water slide. Iron Rattler was about a 30 minutes wait due to waiting for the front row. Superman was about 15 minutes due to waiting for the front/back rows. Pandemonium, Goliath, and Poltergeist were about 10 minutes. Boomerang was a walk on. Didn't ride Scream because I don't like S&S towers but it looked about 10 minutes. You could at least ride all of the coasters in that amount of time easily.
  4. RMC repaired Predator... https://www.rockymtnconstruction.com/portfolio.php
  5. Are the haunts here actually scary? I always skip them at Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks because they send too many people through at once and they are never scary.
  6. Don't we all? That is what my 'sick' days are for.
  7. I am glad others agree with me about them sending to many people through. I understand the park gets crowded during FF. However, when you go the park you are not guaranteed to go through every attraction on a single night. I have been to a few haunted attractions in the area that close at a specific time - if you miss a attraction there that is on you. For example I LOVE Fright Land in Delaware. They have something like 3 haunted houses, a hay ride, haunted woods, a hypnosis show and carnival rides. They have a ticket that includes all of it. One time I spent too much time on the carnival rides and went to the ride the hayride. It was closed for the night and I had missed out. Anyway... I feel like we are beating a dead horse now... I am looking forward to FF so I can get some night rides on Superman and Roar. On another note I recently went to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and road their new water coaster... I think one of them would be perfect for this park since the draw in the summer is the water park.
  8. Thank you! Now my question is where does Flash Pass play into this? I get a flash pass almost every time I am at this park due to lines and the line jumpers. I just wish they would build lines so you can not skip under and over them.
  9. WOW, its looks great. Now, if only their haunted attractions were actually scary.
  10. So this coaster is definitely one of the reason's I am skipping a Six Flags season pass next year and opting for a Cedar Fair one. This thing looks awesome! I loved it before and I am sure I will love it even more once its complete. Can not wait to get the BF here for his first time ever, as well as Kings Island and Dorney.
  11. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE Fright Fest because I can get night rides on the coasters. I will just stick with the haunted attractions in the area that focus their whole heart and soul on a terrifying experience. I am just not someone who is easily scared. The last time I actually spent money on this parks FF haunts was back when they did the toxic waste haunted house right on the walkway next to where the scrambler used to be. It looked so tacky. The haunt through the woods used to have lots of potential, maybe I will give that one a shot this year.
  12. They used to. It was a monster bash/dance show. I do not keep up with FF anymore because its never scary. They send way too many people through at once in the haunts. I said the exact same thing. Fright fest has so much potential, but they think it's a great idea to send 10+ people in a maze at once just to shorten the line. The hall manor maze is the woods used to be my favorite but it's not scary anymore because they combine groups together (and you eventually catch up with the group that went before you) and they never change the layout. I have been to Fright Fest at Six Flags America and Six Flags Great Adventure. I will more then likely never go through another haunted house at an amusement park again unless they change the way they send people through. People have told me its due to the mass amount of people who go to the parks. Well just because you go to the park does not guarantee you will ride every haunted attraction or any at all. I am HUGELY into Halloween and haunted attractions. I have been to so many in the MD, DE, PA area and the ones that send me through with just my group were awesome! Some examples are Kim's Krypt Haunted Mill, Halloween Park, Frightland, Laurel's House of Horror, etc. All of these sent just me and my BF through by ourselves with lines that were about an hour long. Last year I actually spent the money at Great Adventure for the haunted attractions and bought the line skipper for them - more then $100 for two people. The attractions were well done with great themeing. However, the haunts literally just stood there and got in my face. Out of every haunted house I got one scare - one time when someone actually jumped out. They create SO MANY PLACES for them get in and jump out but they don't. They just stood there and shook a rattle type thing. To me the magic number is 5. Once you get to more than that its not scary anymore. Six Flags and Cedar Fair send you through with about 10+ people. Everyone walks in a line. IF someone pops out at the people in front me and I clearly see where they are they are not going to scare me no matter how hard they try.
  13. I have not been to the park at all this year yet. Holding out until Fright Fest to get plenty of night rides on the coasters. So in regards to these numbered tickets... Do you have to get in line in the numbered order? I personally think parks could implement building queue lines that are not easily jumped/skipped. The simple pole systems they use are way to easy to jump/skip.
  14. ^ Great review. You questioned the long lines in the water park/food stands - every time I have been there on a Saturday in the summer its been like that. You gotta remember its a Saturday during the summer at one of the most popular amusement parks on the east coast. I always wait until 3-4 pm to eat lunch then grab dinner on the way home - this helps with the long lines. The Chick Fil A lines were terrible when I was there but of course I waited because its one of the few places I can get unsweet tea in the park. Their water park is nothing special. I still have a bad taste in my mouth because they got rid of one the best water rapid rides I ever ridden to put the water park in.
  15. They used to. It was a monster bash/dance show. I do not keep up with FF anymore because its never scary. They send way too many people through at once in the haunts.
  16. Thanks - I honestly thought about that over the weekend. I still feel like a rule like this should be a company wide rule. Not just picky and choosy among the parks.
  17. These are all great ideas for the park. - I personally LOVE the newer trains for ME - I thought the one at New England was awesome with the new trains/restraints. - V2 is just an okay coaster in my opinion. Even though it would be great for this park. The general public would eat it up. I would rather see a hand me down Pandemonium since we don't have any around here. - I have brought up a path from ME to Superman to management before. They just do not feel the need for it yet. At least that is reason I was given. - I am over the 4D coasters already. There are too many. I have now rode the one at Great Adventure, New England, Fiesta Texas, and Over Texas. There are already two on the east coast. Lets get something we do not have have. If they did put one in there have plenty of spaces - between Batwing and Superman, the land behind Joker's Jinx, land in the middle of the park where there used to be a walkway, land behind Superman, the treed area being Rodeo/bumper cars/Mind Eraser, and the land where Roar/Apocalypse/Wild One/Superman come together. - Which Spinsanity are you talking about - the one at Over Texas or Fiesta Texas? Both are pretty boring. The one at FT is just a Tilt a Whirl. - JJ should not go anywhere. Its a great coaster. Its about maintenance. There not have been many issues at Fiesta Texas or Kings Dominion with theirs getting stuck. - They use that old Batman stadium for shows, especially during Fright Fest. I will go back to saying the park needs flats. Hopefully, it would be flats that are not common in this area. We also need a good family coaster like a custom mouse, Pandemonium, Laff Track type, Wooden Warrior type, Switchback (love this coaster) type, etc.
  18. To me its not that the policy bothers me. Its that its not consistent within the chain and then at every coaster in the park. For me, its a principle thing. Its either a rule or not at every park and then every coaster.
  19. Looking good! Can not wait for this to reopen!!
  20. So, I went to the park 7/13/17 as part of my across Texas park trip. The park itself was not crowded which I loved! I personally love this park, its one of my favorite Six Flags in the chain behind New England and Great Adventure. Thunder Rapids was actually a really fun ride! Its the longest line we waited for all day - about 45 minutes. I was not expecting it to be so fun because its small and no big drops. Its definitely a awesome new take on the water coaster. We got stuck on Poltergeist. I live in MD and Six Flags America is my home park. A few weeks ago Joker's Jinx (almost clone of Poltergeist) was in the news for getting stuck after a wheel broke. The ride went to take off and I knew right away it was not going fast enough to make it around the track. I shouted to my BF to be prepared for this to not make it. Right before it started going up the first descent the brakes kicked in or the operator was able to catch us and stopped the train. Luckily, they were only using one train so they were able to pull us back into the station. It later opened and remained running the rest of the day. I HATE the food options in the water park. There was NOTHING I wanted to eat in there. I wanted a salad and could not find one in there at all. I also hate how they do not have unsweet iced tea. I do like to drink soda or a lot of sugary drinks. There was an employee at Iron Rattler that had us so mad. Her name is Lauren. We were waiting for the front seat and noticed that after each train came back to the station she would talk/gossip to the operator while the guy on the other side checked his whole side. She would start after he was checking the last car. We tried to write if off as a one time thing. We had 5 rides ahead of us - she did it EVERY TIME. Once we were finally on and my BF was waiting to be checked we said are you going to check him. Lauren and the operator gave us a dirty looked. Then the operator proceeded to unlock our entire car so they restraints had to be re-checked. We did not come back to the ride after that. Can anyone explain why they make you take your flip flops/shoes on the rides with you? I am so confused what the difference is between taking them off and looping them through the seat belt/sitting on them or leaving them on the side? I would assume leaving them on the side is a better idea because what if they slip from under you or for some reason the seat belt comes undone and you loose them.
  21. I wish this would have been a bigger hit for the park. They put so much into the themeing. If only they kept up with it. Its the only coaster in the park with a theme that starts from queue to ride to exit. I think a conversion would be great for the park and ride itself. I would assume a conversion would be cheaper then building a totally new coaster.
  22. I do get the allure of Chickie and Pete's. To me its just fries with old bay. The park is great but the food options are terrible. I tend to want to eat more healthy and there are barely any options at this park. I tend to eat at Smokehouse Barbecue, Coasters Drive In, or Subway. I wish they had a Go Fresh type place like Six Flags offers. I do LOVE that they have SweetFrog, Cinnabon and Rita's though for the off chance I want something sweet. Most parks do not offer them options.
  23. They probably just don't want to work. Sitting around all day in an empty park waiting for any sign of potential riders, and now that that rare and magical moment has occurred, you're making them do it again. It's a feeling that I know on rainy days. The operators may question "Why the hell are people even here?" Its the turn style clicks. Ridership goes into if rides are taken out or not.
  24. I just rode the one at SFFT last week. I did not think it was going to be fun but actually really neat. A lot better then the classic water coasters like Schlitterbahn has.
  25. Finally got around to visiting this... What I liked: 1. The food was so good! I got brisket and I could not believe it was amusement park food. Also LOVED that they have real brewed iced tea. That is HARD to find at many amusement parks. 2. All of the coasters were fun - the clone here seemed different then the others, is that an accurate assumption? 3. The shows! Every show was good. I only missed one but every other one I saw was done very well. Even the 3 killer whale shows they do in Shamu Stadium seemed different. Absolutely enjoyed the show with the dogs, cats, birds, mice, pig, etc. What I disliked: 1. Operations - I went 7/7/17 and it was extremely dead in the park. All coasters were about 1 wait unless you wanted the front/back rows. They were between 2-3 train waits. Everything except Wave Breaker was running one train. I do not like that there are no set individual lines for each row like many other coasters. Some people seemed confused. Especially on Wave Breaker. They have two doors that open for each row which some assumed each door was for a separate row. I thought that too until I paid extra attention. The employees were extremely S-L-O-W. It took them about 5-10 minutes to get each train out of the station. I understand it was slow and it was hot but some people go to this park and actually want to see every show, get on every ride, see every exhibit, and go to the water park all in one day. I know that is a lot but I unfortunately only had one day in the park. I came all the way from Maryland to go here so I wanted the full experience. On Steel Eel I did not like that they first go through and check the seat belt then go back through to check the lap bar. That seemed like it wasted a lot of time. 2. Water park - there is nothing thrilling here. Easily will skip this if I ever come back to the park. I was hyped for the slide where you go through glass and see the fish. But they hype it up way too much. Its small and the glass is only on one side. Plus they have a life guard there that pushes you through it. Also, you can not go to the deep end of the wave pool. Nothing special about this park. 3. Cost - very pricey to come to this park. It was over $80 to get in, $20 to park, had to pay to store our items at some rides. I can see where the money goes though to the animals here which I LOVE. Plus I know the employees that work with the animals probably make a decent pay. The buildings seemed out dated and they have A LOT of open land with NO shade. Also saw quite a few spaces where food stands/games had been but now there is nothing there. I probably won't come back here until open up 2-3 new coasters.
