YES! The only one by me was Dorney. Everytime I went my friends thought I was silly for paying the extra fee to ride it. I like it that much. Cedar Point's is good. I think Kennywood's and Lake Compounce's are nice too. -

Hopefully its another awesome flat ride! I only get up here during the Color Guard Finals every spring (late April) and Morey's is nice enough to open just this pier for us. I'd like some more adult flats on this pier for that reason. -

Screaming Swing for the win! One of the scariest flat rides I ever rode. -
Personally, I like DL a lot. Took my BF there for the first time last summer and he thought it was a fun park - he is also not quite enthusiast level as me. Everything was running when we were there and nothing went down. The water park was awesome and the park over all was really clean. I live way too far away (about 5 hours) to go all the time but the couple times I have been were great. My comparison was more to be funny. Every park has problems - we are working with machines that break. However, its how you handle the problems you have that differentiates parks. That was my point. Disney does an amazing job when things happen. This is why people "forgive" their issues more. I have all of the same problems with my home park - Six Flags America. People rip it apart but I love it and stand behind it. I was a hater of SFA - to the point where I have been banned from 'liking' their page on FB. Its the only SF page I can not like. I do not bring this up because I am proud of it. I am trying to say how my view point has changed over the years. ...what? People in this thread complain about park cleanliness, ride painting and maintenance breakdowns, and I havent seen anything at DL (in regards to that) that I havent seen at WDW. Two rides broke down today at Epcot while I was on it or in line. If that happened at DL the park is on it way to closing down if you ask the people in this thread. You have to keep in mind there is a HUGE difference between Darien Lake and Walt Disney World. You dont say? My point is, "problems" at DL also are "problems" in a major theme park run by a major corporation. You're listing problems that are present at every park known to man. No park is perfect, people. You heard me. This is the best conversation that I've seen on this thread in a very long time. People can be straight up wimps about the smallest details. Also, I've been to Dinseyworld (the Florida resort for anyone living under a rock) several times so far and noticed the same thing. Darien Lake is really not that bad. If you want to see a real poor quality experience, go to Sylvan Beach nearby. There's a reason Sylvan Beach does not have a thread on TPR Not every park in the country/world has a page on this site. Let's keep that in mind. I could list A LOT that do not have a page.

I had this crazy thought the other day and its silly but I wanted to share it anyway... So the park was releasing all of these grim reaper videos about what is leaving the park then 'stun' us all and release they are updating the lazy river. What if they are secretly making another change in the park and using the lazy river to throw us all off? I know this sounds completely bonkers but we can all dream right?! lol

Cool concept for Wildwood! I am someone who rather swim in a pool too. -

I am late to this party... I find it weird they open so few rides for Halloween. I am surely not an expert but I have been to Kings Dominion, Dorney, Six Flags America, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Six Flags Great Adventure for their respective Halloween events and at every park everything was open minus the water rides (some were open at Fiesta Texas). I am someone who strictly goes to Halloween events at amusement park for night rides on coasters. Now, on the flip side I have been to Knoebels Halloween festivities and they do not open everything. -

I'm absolutely not immune to Beilers, they are awesome but honestly as a Philadelphian the RTM is a bit tedious unless you are going for something specific. The only smart time to go there is mid morning on a weekday otherwise the waits for everything are insane. They need a fast pass system - stat! As to your second question, I'm not sure what you mean by an upgrade. They offer three tiers of FP - Regular, Gold and Platinum. The platinum cuts your wait time by 90%, gold by 50%, and regular is the same as waiting in the queue, but not actually standing in it. Flash Pass is only good for the rides. I wouldn't see a point in getting Regular on a Fright Fest night. Depends on weather but even rain won't keep FF crowds away completely. I'd go for Gold but whatever you do, don't buy it in advance. No sense in spending money you don't have to, and they rarely sell out, so if it feels like its picking up, and the waits are becoming unbearable, bite the bullet and head over to FP HQs. Really though as long as you to the park before opening and get right in and hit what you want, and then relax as it gets busier (or leave), its never too bad - the crowds usually don't pick up until mid-afternoon. If staying and you're doing mazes/trails at night, they offer a whole other "express pass" that is separate from the Flash Pass, which is why I suggested trying to hit rides early and then ponying up for a express pass for the trails later. Keep in mind the trails will cost you before you even buy the express pass, so at that point you're paying for the trails, and then an express pass for them on top of that. Its all a big joke imo since the trails blow at this park, so my general FF advice is to go early, ride as much as you can in the morning/afternoon, then bounce. Good luck and godspeed. * If you can wait until the first two weekends in November, everything will be open except Frontier (Bizarro, RMT, SORA, the flume which is already closed anyway, etc) and the FF crowds are gone and the park is quiet. I'll be back then. The Six Flags App currently has a deal to buy one regular flash pass get one free, it was good until 12/31/17. It was only $45 for both my BF and I this past Saturday. We skipped Joker because its the worst of the clones I have ridden and Zumanjaro never had a line more then 15 minutes all day and night Saturday. We rode everything with the normal FP. Yea we had to wait over an hour but we rode flats, ate, and looked in stores to kill the time. Like I am sure most people do as soon as a employee scans my pass I immediately reserve another ride because you are usually still in line a little bit. Ever after reserving Superman we still waited about 30 minutes due to one train operations until we were next. So that helped with the next 30 minute wait we had for Green Lantern. Plus, the FP employees said we could upgrade to gold and just pay the difference. It would have been $105 for two people for gold - not bad at all.

Now that's interesting! I haven't this about Bizarro in years. I was very surprised by this as well. Three trains on the track and we barely stacked. Maybe I got lucky when I was riding. It is the same down here at Six Flags America (sadly my home park lol). Actually, every day is like that here it feels like once the sun goes down. The wrong kind of people just like being extra. Six Flags America has had issues in the parking lot with guns and things in the past.

Went to the park this past Saturday for the first time this season and had a really good time over all. Points I wanted to mention: 1. Miss the Nathan's Hot dog stand but the new cheese steak stand was good. The fries were cooked perfect! It is awesome they added self service kiosk to this restaurant but not the option to use your season pass dining on them. 2. There was a evacuation on the runaway train. Saw guest walking down one of the hills near the walkway going towards Bizarro. 3. Wanted to give a shout out to the El Toro, Kingda Ka, Bizzao and Nitro staff. They killed it on getting them trains out of the stations fast. Worst operations of the day were Superman and Green Lantern. Superman was running one train most of the day. Then about 5 pm they decided to put the second train on. The line was at a 2 hour wait at this time. The GL staff were arguing through out the station and over the loud speaker about who was working what post. I did not like that it was a manager doing a majority of the arguing and then talking about her staff to guest in line. 4. The park was super crowded. Loved they had a coupon for the flash pass on the app - it was buy one regular flash pass get one free. However, I do not like that their website does not state the The Joker and Zumanjaro are only available on gold and platinum. I assumed everything was available on regular since I saw no indication of this until I got to the park. I did like they were allowing you to pay the difference if you wanted to upgrade to gold or platinum. Two people on a gold pass for only $105 total is pretty good for this park. 5. Skipped all haunts since we wasted over $100 last year for them and they were not scary at all. 6. The new Justice League area looks good. This was my first time ever to this section of the park since I never went before it was closed off. Hopefully down the road they open the other section that leads back towards the front so you do not have to walk all the way around the park to get to JL. 7. I LOVE going to parks for Halloween because its cooler outside and night rides on coasters are always better then day rides but I hate how people have to be so extra and ghetto. Just because a haunt walks by you does not mean you have to break out in hysterics and stampede everyone near you. Just simply keep walking. Its really that simple. I also how the kids have to provoke the haunts. This takes away from them actually doing their job. 8. They were serious about the loose articles, especially on El Toro. Once it got dark they had a security guard with a flashlight pointing it at every person's pocket. They even turned people away who were holding a shirt/jacket/hoodie. Instead of just letting them carry it and put it on once they were going to ride they made them get a locker. It seems a little out of control now.

Their haunts are terribly ran. They have great sets and props but they simply send too many people through at once and the haunts just get in your face - that is not scary. They do not try to pop out, at least they have never have when I went through. They just got in my face and shook their home made looking rattle. Same goes for Six Flags Great Adventure. I like when they get so far in your face (and they weren't even in position) so after they go BOO you don't know if the door is the door or where they were supposed to pop out from is the door. Then I have to ask if I should go left or right and stand there until they break character. When a haunt walks up to me I just keep going. They yell in my face and try to say things. This is not scary to me. Getting in my face and screaming is annoying not scary. How would you not know a door is a door? Confused by that statement.

I like Green Lantern, I do not find it rough much. I have only ridden Riddler's Revenge once and I do not remember liking it at all. Hopefully if plans go as planned I will get back to California this spring to both Six Flags and both Cedar Fair parks since when I was there it was a little rushy of a trip.

Great video! Finally going to the park this Saturday for the first time this season and can not wait for night rides on Nitro and Ka. Also, just noticed the Six Flags app currently has buy one get one free for the standard flash pass that can be used at any park so definitely will be taking advantage of that while there.

Really? A holding brake? Yes. That holding brake was one of the best parts of one of the best rides in the park. Will it not working cause me to stop going to Dorney? Absolutely not. But I loved that holding brake. Its a matter of monkey-see-monkey-do. Enthusiasts are notorious for it. My running theory is that its because enthusiasts are such f*cking nerds and generally have zero social skills whatsoever that they kind of go along with what other enthusiasts say/do. The evidence is there: just look at they way Six Flags is consistently bashed, even though you can usually find many of the same things people gripe about @ Six Flags parks happening at many other parks as well, but somehow its more of an issue if its at a Six Flags park. Hell, this forum has an entire thread dedicated to doing just that. A perfect example of this type of thing is the poster two posts above mine who has provided a superficial list of reasons why Dorney is bad, even though he has never even been there. Personally, Dorney is fine, if you just take it for what it is. I don't pine to go there all the time, but I enjoy my visits. On paper, particularly from an enthusiast standpoint, the park seems like it sucks. But Dorney is very clean, very well landscaped, has a unique layout, has a great flat ride collection, a huge and solid waterpark, has a few really good (and a couple of great) coasters, a great Haunt event, and there is never a wait for the rides. Not to mention not one but two Chickies and Petes. Absolutely none of that is a bad thing. You want the real reason the park gets bashed here? Simple: they haven't added an original coaster in 12 years. That's it, that's all. Yeah, if the coasters were louder this would be a top 10 park for sure. Coaster loudness is always a major factor when determining how good a park is. ... lol wtf? I mean really. Could not agree more! I actually really enjoy this park, shall I even dare to say I like it more than Busch Gardens.... It is all a matter of opinion and I think once a majority of the enthusiast community makes a decision everyone else kinda just follows in the same foot steps. My home park is Six Flags America and its the same exact with this park. Every hates on it but its a decent park.

Straight No Chaser... Having only heard one song from them before going I had no idea how good they are. They are a really good group. They had an opener called Postmodern Jukebox and they are AWESOME! They take well known pop songs and jazz them up. Hearing a girl sing a very slow jazzy burlesque version of No Diggity was awesome!
