Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
alilstronger replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode the new one at Fiesta Texas back in July. These new water coasters are such an update to the typical water coaster. There was no feeling like you were not going to make it over the hill. Also the saucer parts give it a awesome feeling. I am more impressed with the racers. They look awesome! -
I love penguins blizzard river. However, it needs lots of work. The grounds around it need to be weeded, one of the penguins has been removed, all of the holes do not work at the ending water fall part, and a lot of the bumpers have fallen off the ride. Also, I feel like the station could use a face lift. It has shown its age for a while now. It does get high ridership on hotter days which is great. I feel like the colors do not match the penguin theme. I would rather see dark bold colors like purple, black, and blue. The red and yellow to me do not match the penguin. Let's keep in mind Six Flags New England has already removed there's to make way for Joker. If this was removed it would open up space for a decent sized coaster. However, this park has SO MUCH space available for rides.

Knoebels Discussion Thread

Best park simply based on the fact its the ONLY park I ever been to that actually has real brewed un-sweet iced tea and not that Peak, Brisk, or other name brand junk. -

Thank you for all the feed back guys! Plan on getting the platinum pass so I can go to KD, Dorney (LOVE this park), Cedar Point and hopefully throw in Carowinds since I've never been and Kings Island because I think its a great park and never got to enjoy their water park. -

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
alilstronger replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hello everyone.... I can not find a general Cedar Fair page when I search for one... Does Cedar Fair do a huge season pass sale like Six Flags does over Labor Day Weekend every year? I am planning on getting a platinum season pass next year for KD with the added food, drink, and funpix options. It looks like this will end up being well over $200.00 and if they have a sale I would rather wait. -
Moreys Piers Discussion Thread

^ Thank you! I honestly had no idea this one just has lap bars. Now I really want to go ride it! Every year I go to Wildwood for TIA indoor winter color guard finals but its always in April or May before the season so its dead. They open only one pier for us and its the one with the boomerang and only run a handful of the rides. -

I would call and make sure its running. They shut it down temporarily because of the incident in Ohio. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

When I went to CP about 5 years ago. I stayed at a place about 15 min away that is considered seedy - cost about $60.00 a night. It was great. Clean room, clean sheets. What else could you need? Then again I rather spend the extra money on Fast Lane. -
It seems like these are all things that come with the theme park experience at one point or another... it sounds like you just don't like theme parks Although I'm sure you know the parks and times to go to avoid these things. I hope I can also find the parks where these are non-issues! Personally, my pet peeve is that parks I have been to only offer one low "tier" of food- pizza, hot dog, burger, fried, soda. I'm not a foodie, but I would gladly pay a couple of dollars more for something edible- for example I was eating a polska kielbasa the other day and thought, "this would be great park food" vs. your standard hot dog. I probably just need to get to some classier parks (or outside the U.S.) to experience good park food. You nailed it!!! My biggest thing is such a simple fix.... Most parks do not have real brewed unsweet iced tea. I do not want that nasty brisk stuff that comes from powder. I know lots of Coke branded parks have Gold Peak but I do not like that. I want to see more parks buy tea bags and make iced tea. This is one reason I LOVE Knoebels. They offer real brewed iced tea. I do not like drinking lots of soda especially when its hot. The sugar makes you crave it more and makes you more thirsty. Water gets old. Iced tea is great and calorie free! My next thing would be food in general - why does it always have to be burgers, pizza, hot dogs and fries! I know this stuff is cheap but its terrible for you. Disney has real food but I know they can afford it. Seaworld SA has real food as well as Hersheypark. I would totally pay more for real food. Love that Six Flags added the Go Fresh Cafes in their parks I just thought of another... people who insist on telling everyone how many times they road a coaster when they visited a park in the forum. I do not get or understand why anyone cares how many times someone rides a ride.

1. It doesn't matter. You shouldn't have lines during the week. If you do it will be for Superman and/or Batwing. Batwing has been treating the park well the past couple years and has not went down as much as in the past. I say go to Mind Eraser first - its the only coaster back there. The draw at this park is the water park. 2. Tower of Doom, Penguin's Blizzard River and Wonder Woman if you like Sky Screamers. The rest are pretty mediocre. Rodeo runs a watered down cycle compared to others in the country. The river rapids has no water falls and is really short. 3. You shouldn't have any trouble with food lines during the week. I like: 1. Chop Six (former Panda Express) - across from the Tea Cups 2. Crazy Horse Saloon - great food and indoor/air conditioned - in Coyote Creek, across from Rodeo 3. Johnny Rockets - good burgers - Looney Tunes Movie Town 4. Take the park for what it is. So many enthusiast tear this park apart. It has gotten better over the past 5 years. Its really clean and a lot of the staff are friendly. - If you like water parks I would suggest Bahama Blast, Mako, Hammerhead, and ZoomAzon Falls. The rest of the water park is standard park slides and nothing special. - Get a front and back seat on Superman and Joker's Jinx. Completely different feelings in both rows on both coasters. - Wild One is more fun in the last row but can be rough - Roar feels out of control in the back - Mind Eraser has gotten better over the years and its pretty equal roughness in the back and front now - Apocalypse is only ridable in the front for me - Skip EFX 360 - they make this seem like a great show but its silly and ridiculous in a bad way

How do you know nothing has been done? Maybe its just the location. This same thing happens at Hersheypark in the zoo. The creek floods there too. -

I am late but I was at Seaworld the day after you and it was so dead! Great pix of a decent park. Beautiful park but the staff at the coasters seemed irritated they had to work. -

I feel like a day in each park is worth it. KD is such a fun park - I LOVE their coaster collection as well they have lots of flat rides. I actually enjoy the water park there a lot but I LOVE water parks. I am weird and find BG as just okay. Don't get me wrong the park is one of the most beautiful I ever been to but I am more into the rides at parks and BG lacks in my opinion. The only coasters I find enjoyable there are Alphengiest and Loch Ness Monster. The rest are boring and unforgettable. I prefer the coasters at KD honestly. Water Country USA is definitely worth an entire day visit. They have some pretty awesome slides there. -

LOVE Grizzley! -
I can explain this one for you. So that ADA pass actually has a wait time on it and most people with that pass are required to wait however long the line is. So if the regular line is 60 minutes, the person with that pass and their group are required to wait 60 minutes just like everyone else, just not in line. That person will go to the front entrance of the ride or find a ride attendant for the ride they want to wait for, and then request a wait time and a board time. They are not allowed on the ride until this time is up. Additionally they are only allowed to wait for one ride at a time. There are a few ADA passes that don't require a person to wait at all but I believe this depends on the medical reason. Now each pass only allows for the person using it and three additional people to go with them. If more than 4 people hop on the ride with one pass, then that's on the ride attendant who allowed it to happen. But a lot of times, people with large groups are given more than one pass to account for the size of the group. Now while it may feel like this large group is cutting the line, they've really been waiting for the ride the entire time. They were just not physically in the q-line with everyone else. This makes sense - thank you so much!

Moreys Piers Discussion Thread

That is awesome! I love the piers. I should get up there more often. One of my favorite SLC's. -
I have a couple things... they may have been brought up before and I apologize for that. I searched and could not find anything. 1. I have a season pass for Six Flags that I get processed at Six Flags America every year. This park has a water park that is included which is awesome. My question is how come Six Flags does not come up with a season pass add on that I can add on so I can go to the water parks that are not attached to their parks? I go to Six Flags Great Adventure quite a bit and have never been to their water park because its not included with my pass. About 3 weeks ago I went to Six Flags Over Texas and they are another park with a unattached water park. It looks like a nice water park. However, we went have spent money to get in, parking, and good. Which would have been well over $100. We opted for NRH2O which was actually a really nice water park - it has free parking and only cost $25 to get in. 2. I am all about amusement/theme parks recognizing people with disabilities and such. I go to Six Flags America quite a bit but I have noticed it at every park I have been to - Six Flags Great Adventure, Great Escape, Six Flags New England, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Six Flags Magic Mountain and La Ronde. I am confused on the ADA policies. I see people come up the exit, hand one of the employees a piece of paper, employees makes a note on it, and they are allowed to ride. This process does not bother me. Its that they then can bring their ENTIRE group on the ride. I have seen some of these people bring 5-6 people with them. I feel they should be able to bring one other person that is all. Especially the ones that are able to walk by themselves. When I look up Six Flags policy all it states is all you need is a doctor's note stating you can not wait in lines. You do not to present needing to not wait in lines physically. Blurb from their website: Six Flags offers an Attraction Accessibility Pass for guests with disabilities qualifying as handicap within the meaning of Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, CQLR, c. C-12 who might not otherwise be able to enjoy rides in our parks. Beginning May 21, 2016 due to growing abuse by others, guests who are unable to wait in ride lines due to a mobility-related disability or other disability (visible or not) will need to provide a doctor’s note and photo ID to receive an Attraction Accessibility Pass. Any guest requesting use of one of these special passes will need to provide a doctor’s note at Guest Services at the time they pick up the pass. I guess I am just still confused on if you can physically walk around a park all day and walk up the exits why do you need your entire group to enter through the exit? It should just be you and your companion who actually can get into the park free per their website?
