  1. Saw - The Ride at Thorpe Park *sigh* I miss the TPR U.K. trip...
  2. Yeah, me too. This is what I got after clicking Return to Merchant. Got the PayPal receipt, though. Just for your info, I had the same thing occur after paying with PayPal. Just let me know if I need to do anything else. This is exciting!!
  3. YAY!! The start of what will most certainly become yet another absolutely amazing thread!! Can't wait to see what kooky adventures y'all dish up in the Sunshine State!
  4. I know it sounds crazy, but we had deep fried butter at the State Fair of Texas, and it was really good! I know, probably not the most health conscious menu choice...it probably falls to the bottom of the list of healthy items, right behind chicken fried bacon (which is also delicious, btw).
  5. I too post this while in awe of Kidtums list. Magic Kingdom Universal Orlando Islands of Adventure Universal Hollywood Six Flags Great America Holiday World Beech Bend Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Silver Dollar City Six Flags St. Louis Jenkinson's Boardwalk Six Flags Great Adventure Astroland Kings Island Cedar Point Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom Knoebels Kennywood Hersheypark Dollywood Astroworld Kemah Boardwalk Six Flags Over Texas Six Flags Fiesta Texas Sea World San Antonio State Fair of Texas Mt. Olympus Timber Falls Adventure Park I can't wait to do some serious adding on to my list this summer!!
  6. ^^Waiter, I'll have what lord Sinise is having.
  7. What a great way to end a stressful day at work, finding out about this! Count me in for sure; I can't wait!!! The whole thing sounds even more awesome than I'd have imagined! Could you throw in a customized TPR taser for use on line jumpers? ...oh, and maybe an 8 x 10 glossy of Prowler because that'd really make it worth it! J/K
  8. So true! Gosh, Prowler was such a great coaster...at least back when it was in its prime. You know, maybe it's just wishful thinking, but it would be nice if that was a drawing of a coaster being built on a rock quarry wall...maybe in the same place that Rattler sits...sigh, to dream the impossible dream.
  9. All of the entries were absolutely awesome! I threw in votes for smallish, Electerik, and Themeparkman25. "Flat Fish Ride"
  10. This has been one of my favorite threads as well, but now you're off to bigger and better adventures in the Sunshine State to share with us! The Thread is dead. Long live the Thread!
  11. After looking at all of the updates, there's one thing I'm not quite clear on. Do they allow the consumption of alcohol products when you're on a cruise? Seriously though, gosh that looks like it was a blast; I would love to do that one day!!
  12. ^^Wow, that's awesome!! Don't worry, I found the 30 pounds you lost! Please feel free to take them back whenever you want! Actually, way to go! I've been losing my 'battle of the bulge' for the past month, horribly, but now I'm motivated again! Looks like you're having a blast! Happy (belated) double 20th birthday!
  13. ^LMAO!!! That is AWESOME!!
  14. Favorite new coaster - it has to be a tie between The Voyage and Diamondback Favorite new ride - The Flyers at Knoebels...well, they're new to me! Favorite new park - Earth Quest Adventure (it will be when they finish it, and it's going to literally be about five minutes away ) Most memorable park moment - For me it's the first time I visited Cedar Point. Up until then the tallest thing I'd ridden was probably Texas Cyclone - Also, last summer taking my own two week park trip was probably the greatest single vacation I've ever taken. Plus, I do have to add that catching rings on the Knoebels carousel was pretty dang cool. Most memorable coaster moment - After losing a lot of weight being able to ride coasters again(I lost 200 pounds then promptly put 90 back on, but I'm working on it.) My first coaster in almost 20 years was an inverted coaster, Serial Thriller at Astroworld. That was a whole new experience! Best ERT session - Last summer being able to get in five rides on Diamondback before the park opened...AWESOME! Least favorite coaster - Iron Wolf-the most painful damn contraption ever! Least favorite ride - Dizzy Dragons. I loves me some Tea Cups, but there's something about the dragons that reminds me of that days lunch...I won't 'splain it to you. Oh, and I also hate drop towers. Okay, well it's more of a love/hate relationship. I get excited when I'm in line, get Tourett's while I'm going up the tower, scream like a girl on the way down, then promptly get back in line. Least favorite park - Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom: hot and crowded...wait, or was that Cedar Point LOL Most interesting ride you've seen introduced - when flying coasters came out I thought that they looked totally insane Least interesting ride you've seen intoduced - Ugh! Power Surge! Okay, I've not ridden one, but something tells me it might not be my cup of tea. Your favorite TPR moment (favorite post, trip report, video, whatever!) - by far getting to go on the TPR U.K. trip this coming summer! The decade's biggest flop - Six Flags tearing down Astroworld! RIP my friend... The decade's biggest success - I think Holiday World just keeps getting better and better. They just keep doing everything they can for the community and customers and still somehow manage to make more money. The best meal you've had at a park - Hmmm...tough one. Well, the best meal I have to say was the turkey leg dinner at Holiday World. It was cheap and the whole meal tasted great! I have to say that anything I've had at Knoebels is almost if not just as amazing though! I'd visit for the food alone! Honorable mention goes to Dollywood and Famous Dave's at Cedar Point. The worst meal you've had at a park - Funnel cake at SFKK and Chik Fil a at Cedar Point (and pretty much anything NOT Famous Dave's) Best park turnaround - Kemah Boardwalk since they opened the Bullet...sure it bruised my ribs, but it's still awesome! Worst park turnaround - Astroworld for sure...since it's GONE! What was the biggest trend of this past decade? - Hmmm, bigger and faster coasters I s'pose. Happy New Year!!
  15. You and the rest of the "Exclusive Members" can hop in the "Mojo Machine" and take a quick trip to Worlds of Fun for a quick ride on Prowler, but sources tell me that you better hurry if you want to ride it while it's still in the top 10.
  16. I normally even love bad coasters, but the one that I thought was so horrible that I would never fathom riding it again was Iron Wolf at SFGA. Worst coaster ever! (on my relatively short credit list at least) Part of me would also not mind to see a peaceful end put to Rattler, but it's just so cool up on the quarry wall.
  17. I heard they drive a pimped out Yugo-Hemi with a horn that plays "La Cucaracha."
  18. ...okay, informative simple statement...not condescending in any way, just establishing a point based on obvious expertise on a given topic... Diagnosis = Sane ...okay...interesting, interesting...blatent overreaction to statement made by another person possibly produced by feelings of coaster envy...I'm not a doctor, but I must concur - Diagnosis=Certified Midwest Nutjob.
  19. I voted "yes" because I think it sounds like a great deal! I think all of the perks you listed would be great for the price. As far as what the price turns out to be, for me I can think of it as $15 less because I will easily spend that much and more in the TPR store. I do like the idea of sending out at least a quarterly newsletter, but I think printing it and mailing it would be a bit much. You could just put that sucker in a pdf format and send it out to all of the members. That way, if anyone wanted to print it out for a little throne room perusing, they would have not problem doing so. I also REALLY like the fact that for those who don't or can't purchase the membership for some reason, they're not missing out on any of the great service that TPR provides. I personally do not think that there will be a problem with an elitest attitude or members forming cliques. If the exclusive member forums are anything like what I've seen so far on the UK trip forum, the topics discussed are very specific and as others have previously stated, wouldn't really be interesting or of use to non-members anyway. I must just add that you(Robb), Elissa, and anyone else who helps with TPR do a great job creating a marvelous product. I know it takes time, effort, and money to keep the website running efficiently, which is one reason that I try to make an occasional purchase from the TPR store (of course, loving to watch the videos might have something to do with that too). I must also add that all of the items and service that I've received from the store have always been absolutely high quality, which truly shows that you put your heart into it. Thank you for that. Oh, and I'll throw in one more reason that I'm interested, the possibility of getting the occasional TPR bag'o'crap. Everytime I order the DVDs or anything, I share the extras with my students, who love that stuff! (except the pens...they're MINE)
  20. Hey Robb and Elissa, Thanks for all of the awesome videos and also for all of the work y'all put into making TPR so much fun! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
  21. My first trip is going to be the TPR U.K. trip in June, WOO-HOO!! Every year one of my buddies is granted a furlough from his domestic warden and we go on a baseball/amusement park trip. This year we're headed to New York and Boston to catch a Mets game a Shea and a Sox game at Fenway. In the process we'll be making stops at Lake Compounce, Quassy, and Six Flags New England. I also won some tickets to Holiday World, so if I have the funds, I'll hopefully be heading to Santa Claus in between those trips. In addition I'll make my usual trips to my "home parks"(I live near Houston), Fiesta Texas and SFOT, throughout the season. The most exciting trip though is the trip to the U.K. I've wanted to go on a TPR trip for years, and I've never been out of the country. Now I'm getting to do both!
  22. ^...all I can say is "wow..." I'm the same as metrock, I love amusement parks so I can't say that I've had a bad day, just some that I might have been more annoyed with. One was this year at Kentucky Kingdom. I'd been told that I could go pretty much on any day and not have to deal with lines. Lucky me, I happened to go on the day when they were having a Christian concert so every church in the area was there. Until the concert started we had horribly long waits all day! All in all, it was still okay. I got in all of my coaster credits and checked off another park visited. Probably my most annoying park trip was also this past summer, a trip to SFGAdv. It was a long day filled with rides constantly going down which created long lines elsewhere, crazy line jumping, and, the worst annoyance, a rude employee at Carnegie Deli. I received my order and asked for my fresh strawberry to be put on my cheesecake like the sign said when I was told in the most hilariously Jersey accent that they didn't do that there. Which turned out to be good for me because I could tell and retell the story when I got home. And, with each telling, my Jersey accent got more and more exaggerated! ...although, I still want my dang strawberry, AND my sprinkling of powdered sugar that was also on the sign and of which I did not receive... ...I will have justice!
  23. Disc 2 arrived today, and it is just as amazing as disc 1! Thank you, Robb, for getting it to me so quickly!
  24. Hey Robb, My video came in the mail yesterday and it is AWESOME!! I watched disc 1 and the quality is absolutely terrific; you've again outdone yourself. The only problem came when I began watching disc 2. I was all excited and ready to go, popcorn in hand...and was delighted to see a repeat of the woodies! Which, since it was so awesome I did watch again. I'm just wondering if this happened to anyone else. I can't wait to watch the Steelies when it arrives! Thanks for everything!!
  25. I'm so freaking excited!! I can not WAIT to go on this trip!! WOO-HOO!!!
