  1. It was big translation failure, but google did it wrong. It translated Km/H in Mph. So the right translation would be 62,1371192 mph or it should have said 100 kilometers per hour. Don`t know why google translator does this because miles are definitly not the same as kilometers. But i corrected it in my post. And this is really possible, if you look at the Maurer and Söhne Skywheel which has a height of 50 meters and a highspeed about 105 km/h (source: http://www.maurer-rides.de/x-coaster/skyloop/xt_150/ ). By the way this homepage is really very trustworthy and a good known and well researched coaster-site in germany.... so NO FAKE, but at the moment, STILL RUMORS!!! EDIT: you both were faster
  2. A german coaster-page said that it will be a water coaster like pilgrims`s plunge, with the same elevator lift but not just one drop. The report says that in many news it was reported that it will have 45 degree at the first drop with a little watersplash effect, but not one that will stop the train. Because after this there will be a short coaster part before it will finally splash down into the water... so it seems that intamin finally will use his coaster style logflume to build a water coaster like the "MACK" ones. Here is the complete german text: source: http://coastersandmore.de/rides/achterbahnneuheiten2012/achterbahnneuheiten2012.shtml google translation: EDIT: corrected the google translation from mile per hour to kilometers per hour.... a big google translation fail!!
  3. new picture update on their FB-Page
  4. really astonishing and artsy pics from the skyline of EP at sunset from their facebook page
  5. new pics from http://epfans.info/?id=3465&lang=& which show the progress of the coaster and some photos of the new hotel which is going up really fast: first the coaster pics: now the hotel pics:
  6. A few more pics from http://ep-fans.info/:
  7. So the coaster is running and there some reports that is a really fun and extreme one of his kind. The speed during the ride looks really fast and the most elements are fun as hell. Just some elements are a little bit rough but the Bayern Park and Maurer and Söhne said that they were going to fix this in the winter break. Overall it looks like fun, but in a extreme way... especially if they launch you a secound time without a break, many people mentioned a "grey out" in the curve after the looping, because the g´s there were very extreme there. Overall a really nice coaster and addition, maybe a good visit for TPR next Oktoberfest-Trip. And found a new offride-video in german forums with double launch:
  8. A few new photos from http://www.lifthill.net/:
  9. The coaster is opened to the public while they were still working on the theming. The station that will look like an old gun is not yet completed and the same with the theming in the surrounding area. Here are some photos of the opening from http://www.unserradio.de/default.aspx?ID=6220&showNews=1012780:
  10. thx, i wasn´t sure about that hope so Even the new artwork looks like the two dragons will be at the top of a (lift??)-hill, looks spectecular if you go through two fire spitting dragons. Hope they will add a nice pre-show too! That will be delicious, but the first artworks of the queue line, say there is more to come, because it looks like it will tell the saga of the nordic mythology. really can´t wait for this gem.
  11. really can`t wait for your next report, especially with night pics! But what i was intrested in, what do you think about SilverStar. When i rode it this year there were absolutly now midcourse brakes, and especially in the last two rows we had a lot of airtime... Is it just me or did EP decided to deactivate the midcourse breaks after long years of discussion in many forums. In between time SIlverStar gets my No.1 coaster in the park, maybe next year the woodie will change this
  12. really cool layout, can´t wait to ride it next year....maybe at the opening day and many people often wondered how they will get up to 2000 people per hour on the ride, after looking at the layout i think it will be very fast and at the end of the track it looks like they had another station to exit the train(or maybe its just for maintenance of the trains): and really like the theming: source: http://nettsurfer.pytalhost.de/?incvar=bilder.php&path=news/2012/2011_08_20-coastermodell/
  13. Another Testvideo of the new X-car were they launch the coaster directly without a break into the secound round to ride. They can do this because the coaster runs with only with one train,so it will be possible to launch the ride directly into a new ride cycle or many more. In my opinion this coaster looks like a little gem, fast speed during the complete track and overall a good looking layout. AND think about an ERT with 10 Launches in a row
  14. when i`ve seen the pics the first time i thought WTF!? I mean all this small and very close the floor elements in direct combination after the lifthill. this looks to be really intense. Can`t wait to ride this
  15. really nice trip and photos. Because i rarely visit the restaurants in the park, there are many places i`ve seen the first time. Especially the ship... i often wondered whats in there. Even after i visit my home park since nearly 25 years, there is everytime something new to explore. So big THX and hope to see more soon. But one question!? how did you manage to get all the night shots from inside the park, have you stayed in a hotel or was the park opened till night!?
  16. Some new pics from http://www.lifthill.net/galerie/europa-park/holzachterbahn-1_de/ . Many fundaments are done, the tunnel is half completed and the station is growing very fast.
  17. ^ but it seems to be final one. Ep-fans.de is the "official" fanpage the park and gets all his informations directly from EuropaPark itself. So you shouldn`t take the layout to seriosly, because its just an artwork, but it gives a little taste what the layout will look alike. Maybe its an little bit early to say its the final map, but they even put this coaster in the map for the winter season! If you don`t believe it here are both official maps from Ep-fans.de: http://ep-fans.info/up-down/2011/2011-12_ParkplanWinter_Laend_DE.pdf http://ep-fans.info/up-down/2011/Parkplan_12_DE_Laender.pdf the new hotel is in there too! and just look at bluefire... the layout doesn´t fit to the real one too, so this is just a little inspiration for what will come
  18. first pic of the new park plan shows a preview of the layout: source: http://epfans.info/?id=3420&lang=&
  19. So after a long time i took 2 friends and we went to our home park EuropaPark! This day the weather was really hot (32 degree celsius) and the park started to get crowded in the noon. That was something we wondered about... When the park opened the max. queue lines were about 10-15 min... but after 12 o´clock the park started to getting crowded. So you have to wait up to 40 minutes on the main rides! I wondered why so many people arrived so late because the park only opened half an hour more, so many people seems to came for 6 hours, which is really little time to enjoy europa. But we had good time in EuropaPark, especially with the coasters: Our first ride in the morning "Silverstar": Runs Great... i mean really great... I mean i begin to like this coaster more than every other in the park. All the mid-course breaks are completly off... really completly off, no breaking at the hills anymore. I just rode it three times that day, everytime in the last row, but hell yeah, your ass lifts up the seats on every hill of the ride... its a little bit rough in the first drop, but that doesn´t change my opinion. I like it more than "BlueFire". So the Park did a really good job in reading the forums and putting the breaks out of work... Hope they won`t change it back again. Next MatterhornBlitz and Poseidon: Both are fun rides, the elevator from MatterhornBlitz adds a lot to this ride, fun costum mouse coaster. Poseidon it`s fun, but really rough.... somtimes i think Europa they should replace some parts of the track, especially in the two dropdown curvy parts... but anyway, sometimes the roughness could be fun too. Bluefire: Fun and smooth as always.... excellent family coaster with less thrill but always a fun one and the imo best restraint system in the world. The other old ladys "EuroSat" and "EuroMIR": Rough but fun like always... In Eurosat the added some theming at the beggining of the lift so when you go around and up the first meters were filled with glowing paintings on the wall. The ride itself, very rough and gives a really extremly uncontrolled feeling that makes this ride so unique... fun but seems to get harder! Maybe that is reason why the park mention that they were thinking about renovating/replacing the track(or parts of it) in the next years. EuroMir its both too: Fun but rough, especially if you ride the second part of the ride backwards... maybe it was because of the really hot weather, but it really began to hurt when we had the feeling that our brain was smashed against our skull. Both of my friends don´t want to ride this one again... but in my opinion still a nice, unique coaster. But now it`s time for some pics: After we rode Silverstar and MatterhornBlitz we went to Poseidon, because it began to get hot in the early morning The Natur around the ride has got beautiful over the last years Random monorail shot A picture i`ve taken from outside the new "FoodLoop" Restaurant, I don´t spend my time there, because i`m a poor student Kaffeetassenfahrt... i know you like fa(h)rts PeterPan boat ride ... and after a random flat ride pic, follows a random arcade/game or whatever pic How you may have recognized, the pictures will come a chaotic disorder, because we were traveling through the park in this way Theming in Europa=Wonderful The second rafting pic... more for rafting fetish guys later You can exit the rapids with the boat in the front, if you are man enough to pull on the rope Time for the new guy... (sorry for the blur, the cam was from wall-markt;-) ) ...station... ... and the entree through the sponsor-hall from gazprom Never heard of rollbacks .... very sadly. When this was built i hoped that i will get it here. But no chance, the coaster travells to fast through this element because i don`t know what to say more about bluefire ( - nice launch and looping coaster with the best restraints and seats in the world imo) I DECIDED to teach you a little german from things seen in the pictures, so first: Wundervoller blauer Himmel - wonderful blue sky Schnelle Fahrt (i know you want this) - Fast driving Überkopf - overhead Angstschweiß - cold sweat Hinterteil - rear part/afterbody/backside/bottom or what ever like to call it Schraubenzieher - screwdriver end of the course makes: Überschall - supersonic.... time for other nasty things ...like two wet ones in one photo: Atlantica in the back and WhaleAdventures in the front more wet things to come... ... but on my way to Atlantica i decided to take some pics from the building area of the new wooden coaster not much to see yet (was on July the 4th)... even not from top of the line from whale adventures heading to the important things: pure wetness, because it was hot, very hot that day over the hill floating airtime... while we waiting for the big splash, we got surprised by a big water fontain, which came out of the big rock... so we got wet before we got really wet see ...i was the person in the back that disappeared in the water random monorail shot 2 ... while standing in the queue from Atlantica in the middle of the Atlantica lake was an high diving show, but i didn`t get a better picture because the queue really moves very fast, cause of the really good operators from Europa Park Final picture of part1... trying to be a little but artsy, but not very much Soon more in the second part with pics from Silverstar, more random theming and the testing of the new DaVinci-Ride. Hope you enjoyed it!
  20. there is a german tv-report of the building, with a short look in the contruction halls from "Maurer & Söhne" and a 3d-animation (hope you can watch it in other countrys): http://www.br-online.de/bayerisches-fernsehen/schwaben-und-altbayern-aktuell/freischuetz-bayern-park-live-ID1308736016175.xml
  21. I really like the Layout and it`s the first time i saw how steep the hill is, on which the coaster was build. Looking forward to ride this little gem! More nice looking pictures on facebook: here is one of them were you can see the track through the loop:
  22. nice video from the buidling phase and the ride in action:
  23. this could be a good time for going to the EP... i don´t know if the french have there their summer vacations, but even if it were so, the park wouldn`t be so crowded as in the german vavation period... So if you go during the week, i think there is a good chance that it isn`t crowded. A hint from my experience is that sometimes it is very crowded on wednesday, because the french people doesn`t have school on this day if i remember right. So it will be good time i think
  24. there is a new newspaper article that relativize the incident to a normal test procedure for a failure in the launch in which the launch bolt hits the breaks... a Nürnburgring spokesman said that they had to test this, because sth. like this could happen in normal daily operations. They said the breaks have breaked the launch sled/bob normally which could affect in bang, so the safety test worked well. What the article mentioned is that it is not clear if this rumor about the metal thing that nearly hits a person is correct...Next week they will begin with more tests, so maybe everything worked correct! Finally the spokesman said that nothing should delay the opening in june 2011. Here is the original german article: source: http://www.rhein-zeitung.de/regionales_artikel,-Ring-Racer-Start-im-Juni-_arid,249348.html
  25. i agree completly... pull down this coaster. What i read the other new S&s coaster seems to have problems, too. Shouldn`t Extreme Rusher run since last year!? Now i`m really looking at Shangri-La Snowfield in Happy Valley... If this has big problems too, i`m woundering how long S&S will survive with such a big number of defunctional coasters (even if their layouts look really intresting). Can´t imagine that this will be good for future sales of their coasters.
