  1. what i want to mention is that this news never said, that the ride will never open.... it just said the mangagement doesn`t count with the ring racer to open at the moment, because of the missing permission. But maybe it will get the permission sometimes and then this ride will be opened.
  2. if you look on the last piece of track it, it looks like this will be some other style track... it looks a little bit like the track from mack water coasters...this will give this ride a good chance to get a exciting coaster part with curves, because the middle rail, in my opinion, wouldn`t be strong enough to hold the boats/trains in curves on the track... really lokking forward on how this will end up
  3. one real big boomer is, that this one seems to be ready to ride... they often said that the coaster is now save, tested and works fine... but it seem`s that they didn`t get a permission from the public authorities, maybe because it has had so many incidents before.
  4. please don´t fight guys i think gerstlauer1 really just wanted to point at the artwork which shows much more track than a normal super splash or log flume will ever have. And the rumor is in many forums that this will have coaster part...and that the track style and layout from the artwork is not real is obvious. So i don´t think he wants to be rude! when i read his answers, he writes the same way i would answer as a german. I think he really just wanted to point out that he hasn`t said it will be a "huge coaster section", just that there will be one... he is a young guy, so give him a chance sometimes is harder for people from other countries to recognize the humor. So back to topic.... PLEASE TRACK-GOD... pull the track up in the next photos. We want a super extended PilgrimsPlunge Deluxe
  5. what i can imagine, because of the rail system, with the middle rail which holds the train on track, that they will add some airtime hills after the first drop.I don`t think this system works well for highspeed curves! But it would be cool to get down the first drop and after this 2-3 airtime hills following in a row and the last one ends in an splash down.... but maybe i´m wrong and curves are no problem. Would be nice to see the building area from a top view... maybe this would show a little bit more about the layout EDIT: found this old picture before they started building this.... looks really huge for just a Pirlgrims Plunge Clone (compared to the size of i-speed in the front). Now i am starting to think that it will have maybe one big airtimehill after the first drop, after the drop the track goes back up, maybe into a block brake, then followed by a turnaround, drop and then maybe one last airtimehill with a final splash down! It´s my opinion because this whole area is really long and with a turnaorund in the toplevel, they could brake it down and use more boats without a second lifthill. But i don`t know if they were really going to use the whole area. What do you think. Here is the photo: made a trashy FANTASY-Layout scribble in paint (my netbook has no other programm ), but it´s really completly Fantasy, i don´t even know if the position of the tower or the height are nearly correct... just what i could think what will be possible with this kind of rails/ride and on this huge area, so remember "not the actual layout-it`s a complete fantasy layout" but one possible option and i hope we will soon see the track go up again: FantasyLayout Source of pic: http://www.rollercoasterrevolution.eu/ultime-notizie/785-nuove-foto-dal-cantiere-della-novita-2012-di-mirabilandia.html
  6. there is one intresting pic which you forget to post
  7. @the last 5 posts: sometimes i think no one reads the posts before... it'`s really sure that it will be the same style of ride like pilgrims plunge! it is nearly 99% sure that it will be a ride like this with an elevator... the only point that is not sure is that after the first drop there is rumored from many reliable resources that there will be a short coaster part after the first drop! so Known: Elevator and FirstDrop like PilgrimsPlunge and just short watercontact (no splash down) and the name:"the edge" Rumored:Short coaster-part after the First Drop with final splashdown. The only thing i wonder is how they will reallize a coaster track with this kind of track, if i saw it right the middle rail is the only rail that holds the trains on the track... enough for just a drop, but i wonder how they will do it on the coaster part. But maybe i am wrong and they use normal upstop wheels,or it will have just straight track with hills or it will really just be a little bit different copy of pilgrims plunge. I think this are the only 3 options which are left to discuss.
  8. The EuropaPark published some new photos on their facebook page
  9. there is one well known traffeling around on german fairs and the Oktoberfest which is named "Münchner Rutschn", i found one pic: source: http://www.oktoberfest-live.de/wiesn/fahrgeschaefte/erwachsene/muenchner-rutschn-100079.html
  10. The rumors in a german coaster page said that it will indeed be like Pilgrims Plunge in the beginning... A huge elevator and the 45 degree steep drop, and with a little water contact, but not that it will be stopped by it... just a short contact maybe to brake it down like on Krake from Heidepark! Because the rumor also mentionend that after the first drop and a little water contact a short coaster part will follow, with some curves and the final splash down into the water! Hope that it will be like this like said before... I'm looking forward to it, whatever will come! But what i have to mention is that i never read on a german page it will be aquatrax, everytime i read about it, it was mentioned that it will be more like pilgrims plunge but with a small coaster part. I think this is why here in the forum the aquatrax rumor started to rise. Here is one of the best sources, everything they have written ( in german) some months ago, was right till now, maybe even the name "the Edge": http://coastersandmore.de/rides/achterbahnneuheiten2012/achterbahnneuheiten2012.shtml
  11. let me guess... you talk about "raclette". I know you like it, its indeed one of my favourite winter food in swiss, france and of course in my home-country germany if you haven´t tried it yet, i assume you... you have to. looks like there is a big market gap in the USA. Because in Germany Raclette boomed in the last 15 years extremely, nearly everyone eats that stuff on NewYear's Eve... and the special offens a realy cheap. So if you visit one of these countries and if you love cheese, than you really should give it a try... ... of course the (most) other food i tried in the park is good, too.
  12. ...think you are right. Wodan is the more logical name compared to the myths! I just thought because the artwork and the name were known a long time before the coaster were build. But now it really seems to be final name and that the other signs were build for theming and the storyline
  13. i saw the pics, too. Maybe this signs are part of the storyline OR it will be the name! After reading a lot i found out that this artwork and the name were saved a long time ago from the EP. And the EP never officially confirmed that name... so Yggdrasil is still in the race...
  14. it looks like it really will be the name... here is one other artwork of the logo! I think they use "Timbur Coaster" because it fits in this area and it sounds way cooler than "Wodan - wooden coaster": SOURCE: http://airtimers.com/wodan-timbur-coaster-der-europa-park-mythos-hat-einen-namen/0012333/
  15. omg... nerver seen a raw stell sekeleton of a theming element looking so good... really can`t wait till my homepark opens this beauty coaster thingy for us
  16. Good to hear that you don`t like it,too. But i think they shouldn`t stop complaining, its why such people like us coaster enthusiasts were using forums like this. We want to get known about new stuff, we want to see pictures and videos from other people around the world and we are here to discuss all kind stuff and write and read the opinions of all users. What i really don´t like is that everytime someone complains about sth. (for example about a new ride), there are people which say "every new ride is better than no new one" and other that say "first wait till you have riden it" - and i understand both statements. But if you complain about sth. during a building phase, then it is just that. It is a complaining about sth. someone don´t like - and i am the one that wants read it... If there weren`t discussions about "what kind of ride will this be?" ,"is there much airtime" or "will the theming look ugly?" then this forum would be dead... there would be absolut complete silence - no one is talking, democracy and free speach is shutted off, just pure boring nothing and love everwhere... hope you understand my point so please complain, discuss, say out loud what you like/dislike and just have fun with our little hobby... it`s all about that in forums
  17. i think they were not judging the ride itself... i think it´s just because many people waited a long time for new big dark ride for the EP. And the Ep always themed their attraction about myths and culture and haven`t used any licenses from movies because they didn`t need them (and many fans were happy the way it was). So i was really a bit disappointed, too... im not a big fan of that movies and don´t like the modern style and atmosphere. In my opinion this movies were made for the target audience, called "tokyo hotel" fans(well known teeny-band in europe) and younger . But that doesn´t mean that i am not looking forward to this ride. So i understand the complains, a good myth themed to tales from the brothers grimm would have fit much nicer to the style of the park and the surounding area. But anyways, i`m looking forward to it and maybe when i ride through oversized mushrooms and gardens shrinked to a minimoy size, i start to like the theming. And the story of the movie can be good for a darkride with faster parts (shrink to ant size - get known to the other minimoys - then the evil villain will apear - and like in every animation movie, a fast chase/slide through the grass, tunnels or sth. like this will happen and in the end you are the winner and get back to normal size). So maybe you (GeorgT) like the theming, but that many complain about this, doesn´t mean that they are not looking forward to it. The most people just hopped for something else... minimoys is just not that much liked by older guys and non tokyo hotel fans. And yeah i would ride a darkride themed to what ever, too, but the theming is essential for the atmosphere the ride will generate and that is, in my opinion, the most important thing together with just having fun riding it. So i really think even if this will be minimoys-style themed, this ride will be great, because EP will create a really nice atmospere, even with this small "tokyo hotel" look- and sound-alikes
  18. ^no just one but it seems that it will be a darkride-suspended-powered-coaster with rumored controlled spinning trains (like the one from euromir or like you know it from other darkrides) and maybe some unpowered coaster parts on the track were the coaster rolls freely downhill. And in the original news from "Badische Zeitung"was written, that they get the permission to built a outside section across the river, too. So overall it seems that it will be a spinning-darkride-powered&non powered-inverted/suspended-family-coaster with outdoor parts over the river and themed after the "minimoys" movies from luc besson. i can`t test and download it right now, but there should be a "readMe"-File in which you`ll find a installation manual! And in the thread to EP-RCT3 add-on is an information, that if you load some costum tracks it can look like RCT3 is crashed, but mostly it`s just the waiting time because some costum tracks have up to 4000 different track parts!!! Just wait up to 5 minutes and the coaster will appear. But i think all rct3 fans will now have a lot of opportunities to build tracks, with this amount of different parts, nearly everthing will be possible. can´t wait to test it by my own
  19. ^^^^ seems to be a great add-on... it looks like it has a costum track builder in it, with which you can build unique elements... so many comments say this add-on is like rct4! i can`t test it because i was travvelling around the world but as soon as i am back, i will give it a try EDIT: found some nice pics and videos of the addon on http://www.rct-3.org/board45-rct-3/board211-park-enhancement-project-pep/18822-europa-park-add-on-informationen-des-pep-teams/: trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTIjw0Zumno euromir: whale adventures: eurosat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hnc8sMDBO54 Universum der Energie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdGwcInVFa8 some photos:
  20. About the inverted coaster.... Macks old Internet-Site said the coaster could be build suspended with swinging trains or with spinning trains (controlled/powered and/or uncontrolled spinning)! But because its a dark ride, i think they will use the controlled spinning seats for better viewing and more options during the ride. And about the powered coaster thing... i want to quote them from their homepage: source: http://www.mack-rides.com/en/products/coasters/suspended-powered-coaster/info/index.html I think (or hope ) they will do extacly this.... a powered coaster with spinning trains for the darkride section(s), and then in between 1-2 free rolling coaster sections... that will be fun! really looking forward to it, and of course to the new woodie too! And some new pics from gci on Edit:Want to show two intresting things in the pics from gci: In this photo you can see a negativ banked curve in the front... i think it will be the section before the lifthill: and in this one you can see the banked part in the station flyby section:
  21. another intresting point i read about is, that the logflume will have a first little pre-drop and then goes over the the hill with much more speed! On one german coaster-page they even call it airtime hill.... i found there to a bigger pic of the artwork which shows better the little pre-drop: source: http://airtimers.com/klotten-eroeffnet-2012-die-steilste-wildwasserbahn-europas/0012127/
  22. ^ it´s really just about the type of the ride! there are many higher super splash rides or watercoasters ... It`s just that it really is the highest oldschool log flume in germany It´s like everytime.... the marketing uses every aspect to push the attraction into the peoples mind
  23. ^^^ i think it won`t be a big flume like in tripsdrill! Just a short one with an elevator (and i hope a short darkride section in the castle before it ), then the big drop and then a short turn around back to station... maybe they add some nice theming elements during the ride. But what seems to make it necessary to change the theming is the height of the lift and the drop... Its much higher than their first plans, where the flume starts under the lifthill of the coaster. Now with a height of 25 meters is about 7 meter higher than the coaster with 17.5 meter. So i think they decided to take a castle to hide the high elevator and get a good adequate theming that fits to the park.
  24. Haven`t found a thread about Klotten or the new log flume so i started one. The little german park "Wild- & Freizeitpark Klotten" started to built their second big attraction, after many years of waiting time. It will be an ABC flume and like the marketing says it will be the highest, steepest and fastest logflume in germany and if i remember right it will have an elevator as lift! Together with the log flume the park finally started to theme "die heiße Fahrt" (i know you like this little gem). The first plans to build it like a vulcan were thrown to waste and now they will theme it like a castle! some pics from "bone" on http://freizeitparkweb.de/cgi-bin/dcf/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=7412&forum=DCForumID4&viewmode=all:
  25. before we will find out if it`s tame or not, here are some new pictures which were saying, it will be good from http://airtimers.com/mythos-neue-fotos-von-der-gci-holzachterbahn-im-europa-park/0012037/ :
