thought the same... i knew about the spinning looping coaster in japan, but i thought a full looping coaster with spinning effect is crazy or impossible. But it seems an "eyeopener" . Here is what Mack wrote in the description of the video on their youtube-channel: -

I tried a lot of VR and like everyone says, you have to try it by yourself. It doesn't just show a video. It is an 3D-Environment that gives you the feeling that you are in there. The best way to explain is if you are high up on a tower and look down - the feeling you get is the same you get when you look in a virtual abyss. You get that weird feeling that you could drop there. So with this coaster for example: They put you in a fantasy world with a wild turbulent ride... and because of the virtual reality you can change the heights, were in the real world the coaster just drops some meters in the virtual reality you can make the drop much higher and faster... 50m for example. And you are feeling like you are in there... together with dragons and other stuff. That will open possibilities like Special-Effects in movies - but they are not on a screen, they are around you... just everywhere (imagine a car flying over your head after an explosion). And you can even fake much more: For example they used a banking change from left to right to simulate a barrel-roll. Your inner sensors won´t realize that you haven't made a full overhead. Or they used some bumps in the track to simulate a slight jump in the scenes. You really have to try it by yourself... it really is a game changer for themeparks About that: I work a lot with VR and it is normal.... When you play or try something that is moving in VR most people will get sick - this is why i don`t think it will work with most of the games and why VR is more made for Experiences. Because when the camera isn't moving you won't get sick. But it is different if you are on a moving chair... or a coaster you are moving like the virtual world that you see, so there is no problem for the brain. Because when you see the world banking sideways, your body does this, too. And this is the reason why most people get sick: if you see a virtual moving and banking sideways but your inner sensors think that you don´t move - it will make people dizzy -

i haven´t found a thread about VR-coasters, but i think it is really too intresting tohide it from the community. So cause of Europa Park and Mack rides supported the students by researching and building a company, think this will be the best place to post it! Since some students and Mack tested VR on a BlueFire they started testing more different experiences on most of their coasters... and it seems to be awesome. So they now seem to have build a company which creates ride VR experiences: So in the mean time, it seems they reached the point were the figured out most problems like safety, synchronization and a lot more to get a great experience... And so they showed a lot more videos from their first tests: - their first experience, fantasy-scenario on BlueFire: - a flying islands experience on Pegasus: - an underwater experience on BlueFire: - a space mine ride on BlueFire: - and a cartoonish lokking eastern/asian town flyby on BlueFire: Like seen in the first video, they seemed to have already tested it a on some more coasters like EuropaParks powered coaster "Alpenexpress" and on your beloved "EuroMir". And there are a lot of pics from other projects like a "Tron"-like ride, a fruity experience and even an interactive space battle: It is really interesting and i can´t wait to test it in real life since i am huge coaster fan and i am working with the oculus rift dk2 on my own at my university. And now i just read some rumors that they maybe will renew their coaster "EuroSat" (which was often said since years on fan meetings) but then with a VR-experience! That really would be great because EuroSat was my first big Coaster as child in my home Park "Europa Park" and i really hope that this will be true. So can´t wait what we will see with VR "mixed Reality rides" (as i call it) in the future If you want to know more about the project there are a lot more pictures and infomations about it on their homepage. All the videos and images are from the same source: www.vr-coaster.com EDIT: There is one more short video from their powered coaster on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/europapark/videos/10152803396336440/ -

there is the same picture in better quality from http://www.coastersandmore.de and the german article from http://www.coastersandmore.de/rides/achterbahnneuheiten2014/achterbahnneuheiten2014.shtml mentions a few facts from the Mack coaster: - it will be the highest coaster from Mack till now with 65 meters - after the first "spiral"-drop it will speed up to 120 kph and then enter one of the worlds biggest loops with a height about 50 meters - in the complete layout with the lenght of 1290 Meters it will contain some other elements like airtime hills, a Zero-G-Roll and a Dive Loop with a final oval turn into the brakes. ^So the Zero-G seems to be confirmed -

It is nearly sure/known that it will have one kind vertical lift or elevator inside one side of the tower and the drop inside the other side (the tower seems to be split with a wall inside) as some people mentioned before. But it is still not clear what kind of lift it will be... most likely a vertical chain lift (maybe with LIMs to lower it in a break down case) or maybe an elevator. They released some pics from the inside of the tower on their official Homepage (http://www.xn--krnan-gra.de/de/baublog/bilder): This one seems to be the view from the train entrance from the station up to the hole were the train can pass through to the drop-side of the tower. the opening seems to be very wide, so after the released artworks it will use 4-people a row trains, maybe the ones they used on the smiler. the entrance for the trains!? maybe the supports for the station!? and there are more photos from their facebook page... Europa Park Discussion Thread
Kooky replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ EuropaPark is my homepark and in the past i was there in july, august and decided not to go there again... i think the baddest month is in august and till the 13th. of september, because at this time the state baden-württemberg has sommer-holidays, this normally the most crowded time... and because the rest of germany, swiss(ca. 1 hour driving distance) and france(border 20 minutes driving distance) have holidays in july this is a very crowded month, too. So if you have the possiblity, you should go after the 15th. of september. Another hint is that often the mondays are not so packed, wednesday is the baddest day because many french people go there, too. So in the holidays it is often one of the most crowded days. So normally on these days you will have a full day. Queing time will be between 30 mins on little rides and up to 1 and a half hour on the main attractions on really crowded days. On really extreme days you get queues up to 2-3 hours at wodan. Bluefire has normally a very good capacity... So normally queues won´t go over more than one hour. The same for SilverStar. Low Capacity rides that should ridden in the morning (after opening) are the wild mouse "Matterhorn Express" and the water coaster "Poseidon" which is especially on hot days a very famous ride and then maybe "Wodan". I would suggest starting with them both and then walking straigtly to the back of the park to Wodan and BlueFire (if you are coming from the main entree). And then walk forward in the oposite direction of the masses coming from the front. EP really pushes the crowds into the attractions as no other park do that i know. So even on the fullest day i got all main attractions ridden and many of them even two times. If the park is crowded they open normally at least till 8:00pm, if it is extremly crowded the sometimes open till 9:30pm. And as a hint: if you have a cellphone with internet you can check the queue lines of the rides within the smartphone app. But it just works when you are inside the park. For example often the smaller coasters like EuroMir and EuroSat have short lines after 2:00-3 pm because they are more in the front. Hope that will help -

there are some news from a german-newspaper on this one (source: http://hansapark-fanclub.de/?p=1796 ): Sound intresting... they rebuild the original 35m tower from Helsingborg (sweden) but it will be 80 meters high (ca. 262 feet). The track will come out of the tower westwards in direction and around the ride "Die Glocke". The complete track lenght is about 1.5 km and it will run faster as 100 km/h with maximum Gs of 5g. But the most intresting point is, that Andreas Leicht (owner of the hansa park) mentioned that the tower will not be used to bring the trains upwards. My speculation: Maybe this will be the first Hyper Coaster with a first drop inside a 80 meter tower. Or maybe it has a free-fall element inside the tower (but seems way to crazy for a full coaster train to be dropped on a freefall segment about 70 meters inside a tower) -

The opening of the new attraction "Arthur - the ride" will be delayed for some weeks or months. The park released a press announcement that the ride will not be ready for the season opening of the park. They just stated that they are working hard on it and that it will need some time more to get everything ready. Now the opening date is just stated as "spring 2014". So it seems that it will just be delayed some weeks. Here is the original statement in german from the fan-site http://www.epfans.info/?id=4082&lang=&: edit: i saw that some of you stated they have never seen the entrance. I made a photo-TR thread here in the forum were i had some photos of it posted! There are even some night-shots of the entrance area at the end of the report! the magic carpet ride is now aviable as beta... the only problem is that sometimes the swinging will be a little bit odd. But he didn`t know if he can fix it with the NoLimits2-Scripts, so he decided to release it. (Maybe someone can help him ) He released it in his thread: http://www.rct-3.org/board239-nolimits-coaster-2/board248-scripte/26411-der-fliegende-teppich/?s=d61a144c1d9fb02bf3d883d780781930ed189594 directlink: http://rct-3.org/files/category16-nolimits-coaster-2/category45-szenerieobjekte/category44-cfr/2089-fliegender-teppich/files/f2304-magiccarpetride-rar-download.html for the download from the directlink you have to accept some license terms: i tried to translate it for you: -you are allowed to use the object/script for your rides and parks - you are allowed to change things and pass this one to others, too. - you are allowed to add your name as author to the obejct/script if you did some changes to it (but not delete the original authors name) - you aren`t allowed to delete the website and the author from the script. - you have to share your new creation under the same license terms ( i think he only means objects and scripts you have created with his creation, not parks/rides). - the Author really would appreciate it, if you could mention him in the credits of the rides/parks you`ll build with it. But it is optional, you don`t have to do it! so hope we will see this one in some parks in the future!

NoLimits Coaster News!
Kooky replied to Loefet's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
thx phyton for the answers... overall great news! Sounds like nearly everything can be done by scripting and programming. And when it will be possible to add vertical track movement, the possibilities will get even bigger (thinking about an "Tower of Terror" fully animated and scripted ) Still wonder what kind of ideas, types and rides the community will invent. And great news for OculusRift... but really hope you implement it in a later update. I have one prototype and its like you said.... both belongs together. Hope they are going to release the consumer version next year. But not only for riding coaster, even just walking through a fully operational park and looking at the rides would be impressive. But no new post without some questions: With so many programming possibilitys i think about getting Rollercoaster-Tycoonish. So my question is, will it be possible to build new GUIs for the editor, like a path building system or a GUI for programming the movement of the (hopefully created) KUKA-Robot arms? Thinking about a full park walking through with the OculusRift, i wondered if you think it would be possible to add people and a pathfinding system/ai? I know it will depend on the community, but it would be great to get a bit life into the scenes. I think it will work to animate and script the movement, but it would be cool if someone gets a full crowd walking freely on the builded paths of the hopefully soon created pathsystem So and the last one is about Sound: Will it be possible to build virtual speakers in 3d space, so that when you drive by you hear the sound of the speaker as you come closer and when you arrive at the next scene there will be a new speaker with other sound. And in addition to this question, will there be an onride-soundsystem i think i already know your answer, but if it`s not implemented i hope on some inspiration and that someone will start programming it as soon as possible (i really thinking about getting more knowledge about scripting now... ) -
NoLimits Coaster News!
Kooky replied to Loefet's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Can´t wait to see what parks the Community will create (hoping for a luna park on the moon ) But i have some questions, too. Will it be possible to change the train modells and maybe even do scripting on them I asked because i hope for scripted cars/trains like for example the KUKA-Robot-darkride trains from the Harry Potter ride (which i hope someone will recreate) or maybe a real KUKA(robot)-Coaster that could be build with it. Watching the 4-dimension coaster in your video started me thinking about this. And another question is, are you going to insert prototypic, classic(very, very old ones) or fictional coaster types (like the Kuka-Coaster or the free-Fall coaster) into NL2. I think many things (like Pandorras Box) could be build by scripting, but for normal users like me, it could be cool to get the pre-made types of coaster. Maybe as special updates or DLC, but please not as an Update on the 1st of April would be great to ride coasters that we will never get a chance to ride in real life And this leads to next question: Do you provide future updates ( edit: just read in an older thread that you will do it) and will they cost extra money like for DLCs? Or will they be for free? Or both? Some little ones for free, big updates for some coins EDIT(questions added): looking at the switch track functionality, will it be possible to build for example a coaster which is duelling and then the trains stops and the other one switches the track to same were the first train is and then they start following each other. I remember a no-limits 1 coaster from the community were they did this with fake switch-track. But it would be cool to build a really (simulated) working one. To get to the point... is it possible to use the switch track to build a second track (one train goes in this direction the next in the other direction) and will it be possible to let two trains run on one track in a row (even with a block system) and script them to stop (fantasy coaster style of course) and start when another train arrives or gets closer and the next second train to follow directly without stop? (hope my eyplanation is in somehow understandable) Last one: I remember reading one time that one of NL-Team said "No Oculus Rift-Support", but i hope there will maybe be an update One last wish... because you have mentioned that you like experementing with swinging coaster i hope that you will sometimes add the S&S FreeFly coaster type (http://www.engineeringexcitement.com/rides/coasters/free-fly). Would be cool to create a bunch of two or more FreeFlys in a duelling way. Or maybe the coaster type from Seven Dwarfs Mine... i think both a hard to simulate but are really cool types and could lead to great community tracks! Thx for your time (answering my huge amount of questions) and for "a really looking forward to" simulator experience. I wish you and No-Limits-Team some nice Holidays and good start into an awesome NL2-Year (looking daily/hourly on your HP, cause i can´t wait a bit stupid and crazy ) -

In wintertime they normally close the most big outdoor attractions... normally "Wodan", Silverstar, BlueFire, Poseidon, Atlantis, Wildwasserbahn,FjordRafting, SchweizerBobbahn are closed. If i remember right they sometimes open some of their coasters (wodan) when it is a litlle bit warmer (i think about 5 degree celsius). the rest of the attractions should be open... eurosat, euromir, alpenexpress and many more
