  1. I think Avatar would be a great base theme for a B&M Wingrider.....
  2. Boomerang - KBF Boomerang - SFFT Jr. Gemini - CP Woodstock Express - CP Gemini (Red) - CP These are the only big ones I can think of at the moment. Every one was skipped because of a lack of interest in riding.
  3. Part 2 I still think it's pretty funny that Italians call those 'American Hot Dogs'. Photo point. SKLOOSSSHHH! The waterpark's closed. Cleanup time! I'm glad we rode earlier; now there's a line! YYEEEAAAHHHH! Before we leave, Abram wants to ride the tower again. Thanks to the Urbanskis for coming with us to Magic World! Bye Magic World! Thanks for reading! =D
  4. I've visited several theme park this summer, and I still have many more to visit. Instead of continuing to make individual threads for each Italian park I visit, I've decided to make a single thread. From here on out, I'm going to post all of my TRs from Italian parks in this thread. Here's a list of all the updates I've done so far: Magic World - 1st visit Rainbow Magicland - Day After Opening Day Rainbow Magicland - 2nd Visit Miragica - 1st Visit And now for my 1st update on this page: Magic World - Visit 2! We arrive on a hot, early August morning, ready to have some fun! This map is one of the first things you'll run into once you walk into the park. Unfortunately, none of the rides are open until later on in the day. I walk around a little while mom grabs my swim trunks. "PLEASE DON'T EAT MY HAND!" We end up having a great time at the waterpark! It's definitely a great place to cool down during a miserably-hot Italian summer! (And yes, this waterpark ACTUALLY gets you wet, unlike most water rides in Italy!) Magic World has its own taxi! Call that number to get a lift! I, Jodie, Abram, and Mrs. Urbanski decide to brave the Zamperla Parachute Tower! "For some reason, it's better than it was the first time I rode it!" Will I finally get my credit on Magic World's Wacky Worm? The answer is... Wait for it.... Look at this new sign! Are you about to explode? Ok, I won't hold it from you any longer... YES I WILL! You get a fantastic view from up here! We get ERT on the Wacky Worm! We hit the bumps! TAKE THE TUNNEL!! And now, ladies and gentlemen... the drop of death! My 3rd ever Wacky Worm gets a tumbs-up for sure! Oink Farm? Elephant ride thingy. Aladino. Italians can change any name to make it sound better in their language! An Italian's idea of a bar is a lot different than an American's idea of a bar! Puffi has something to do with Smurfs... The new Smurfs Movie is called Puffi Movie over here! There's that Pizza guy again! Carousel. Sonehenge or Ranger? You decide! Once again, we run into the awesome Mars Attak! We all approve of this crazy, never-to-be-found-in-America-without-extreme-modification-of-some-sort ride! Are we ready to conquer the Crazy Mouse? Ready to ride! So many purple shirts... so much bouncing... What's the 4th letter of my 1st name? AAARRRRRRRRRR! Pirate ships are usually pretty cool, although for some reason I'm beginning to enjoy them less and less. Rangerhenge! This Crazy Mouse is especially crazy because there are no trims! The support structAAARRRRRR. Skulls can only mean death, and death can only mean Kong at SFDK! Rather interesting attention paid to the theming of this ride. Abram and Mrs. Urbanski decide to ride once more. "Get me out of here!" Thankfully, we had those Nutella crepes earlier in the waterpark. Tight turns. Italians love the Simpsons! It's always good to have an ambulance just in case! Takin' a drive. I now know what the 1001 Nights really is! Time for the smelly, green-water log flume! It was just ok... certainly not worth getting green water in your face! Creps, pizza, sandwiches, oh my! This is easily comparable to an ARM/Larsen tower, only with less comfortable OTSRs. That castle still does nothing... Those are the family slides at the back of the waterpark. They're pretty good! I have yet to ride this. We came! We conquered! Time for a somewhat common coaster here in Italy! This thing has an uber-slow lift hill. Not in Valencia, California, though. Warning: This ride is somewhat rough. Please do not expect it to be as good as the one at Zoosafari. (Hopefully I can get that TR up soon; I just went yesterday!) Those Italians like this ride! This ride would be better with single-car trains. This ride has to be pushed from the exit platform to the entrance platform. WTF kind of name is Chains Ride?!? Whoosh! Am I the only one who thinks this looks a little unsafe? This coaster is definitely Old Skool! I still don't think I'd want to try this ride... who knows how much it could possibly scar me! "This is a pretty decent drop tower!" What could those be? I'll post Part 2 later! Thanks for reading!
  5. This. I don't think this sounds like a great idea, but who knows, maybe it will do alright in theaters. If it has anything to to with roller coasters, you know I'll be seeing it.
  6. Perhaps they want the train to pass through the run ASAP so that the next train can clear the lift hill more quickly? I'd prefer a few airtime hills, but I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of planning for capacity was calculated into the design of that long brake run.
  7. I was the one who brought up the thing about SFGAm's Déjà vu at Silverwood, and I can't believe they don't agree that moving it will be a good thing for it. I rode it at SFGAm in 2005 and at Silverwood in 2008, 2009, and last year, and the improvement was significant! If those Déjà fanboys really had an emotional attachment to the ride, wouldn't they want the ride to be improved/fixed? Perhaps they should move to the northeast to be closer to it.
  8. I was originally going to choose X-Flight as my #1, but Wild Eagle changes that for sure! Mirabalandia's unknown coaster (I'm suspecting a B&M Giga) is a close tie for #2, since it's a park that I'm hopong to visit next year.
  9. My old local waterpark, Wild Waves, usually asked for arms crossed. Here in Italy, they don't really care which direction you're facing or how you cross your arms/legs.
  10. I guess some people want Dreamworld to keep holding the record for tallest drop tower! Lets Get Dreamworld to Upgrade the Giant Drop to beat Six Flags Because SFMM already has too many coasters.
  11. I'm certainly glad to hear about this! I remember talking about a drop tower addition to SF:EK's structure, and I think it's a good idea! Sadly, this'll take the record away from ToT, but it'll at least bring business to SFMM.
  12. I'm glad Carowinds is getting a great new flat ride, but I agree that tying the ride to the Wright Brothers would make for a much better theme than yet another Windseeker. 'KittyHawk' and 'Carolina Windseeker' seem like alright names. All there has to be is some good theming.
  13. I have to disagree with people on Silverwood's woodies. Sure, they were made by the same companies within a very short period of time, but I've ridden both and they're very different. TT is almost like a classic woodie with a lot of airtime and an Out-And-Back layout, while Tremors is really its own thing (you need to ride it for yourself, I can't think of something I've ridden to compare it to other than a smoother, shorter, 1-trained Ghostrider). They both are great woodies with some different appeal depending on your taste in woodies.
  14. I have to admit, while I like Déjà vu, it's not the best of the GIB clones. SFGAm's was probably the best while it was still there, and now it's even better at Silverwood (I've ridden both SFMM'S and SFGAm's in both places). While SFMM may be losing a decent Vekoma, I'm sure that bit of space could be refilled with something great. I'm no sure what it'll be, though. The space is big enough to fit part of a coaster, but not enough to fit some of the stuff I've heard mentioned. A complete circuit Intamin or any kind would be fantastic. A B&M Dive Machine would be fantastic. But there isn't much space that I can see that would be able to accommodate those rides, unless the park used some space on the mountain behind Apocolypse and Déjà vu. And a drop tower would be great, but it wouldn't be very visible and probably couldn't take up enough of the space in that area to be a full addition (although queue might take up quite a bit of space). Also, what would these rides be themed to? Something to match the Apocolypse theme or something different and random?
  15. Here's my ToTW entry: Starlight Flyer It's a small out-and-back woodie that's 45 ft tall, has 2, 4-car wooden coaster trains, has a yellow, white, and red color scheme, and some simple theming. Enjoy! SCR1.BMP Overview of the ride. SCR2.BMP The station, lift hill, and latter part of the ride. SCR3.BMP The middle part of the layout. SCR4.BMP The end, as well as the ride stats.
  16. Great job, everybody! This was a pretty challenging one, but I had fun doing my best! Congrats to QR and jjune4991 on winning the BoCs!
  17. Pony Express at KBF. Orange (track color and in California, known for its oranges), sports (horseriding), Pittsburgh (made of steel), SBNO (after the accident for a short time), two names (Pony and Express), Sylvester Stallone (Italian Stallion, made by Zamperla and themed to ponies), and Movie (Pony Express from 1925).
  18. Dragon at Legoland Florida. Orange (track and in a state known for oranges), Sports (Dragon boat festival in) Pittsburgh (made of steel, and said boat festival takes place there), SBNO (isn't operating but is still standing), and Two Names (originally called Okeechobee Rampage).
  19. The Python at BGA. Orange (Florida's most famous export), Sports (Pittsburgh Pythons), Pittsburgh (as said, and steel coaster), and SBNO.
  20. My next guess is Steel Force at Dorney Park. Orange (the original painted color of the ride), sports (the nickname for the Steelers), and Pittsburgh (where the Steelers are from and a big city located in the same state as the ride).
  21. Steel Lasso at Frontier City. Orange (track color), sport (lasso), and Pittsburgh (steel).
  22. Does orange refer to the track color, sports the theming of the ride, and Pittsburgh the city from which a team with apart of the ride's name is from? If so, I choose Raging Bull, because it's rusty orange in color, themed to bullfighting, and has the word Bull in it, which is apart of the name of the Pittsburgh Bulldogs.
  23. Sports and orange.... Titan at Six Flags Over Texas? Painted orange (for orange) and the Texas Tiatans (for sports).
  24. ^^LOL! It's true. I guess 2012 is going to be one screwed up year for theme parks doubling up on rides.
  25. I'd support one, although I most likely wouldn't be able to attend. Leviathan looks like a great ride, but I'm wondering why, of all coaster types, a B&M Giga-coaster would be chosen. Behemoth has been CW's star attraction, and I'm sure it could've easily remained the park's main draw for years. It's a tall, fast, long, exciting roller coaster; it's a coaster enthusiasts dream! And Leviathan looks to be almost exactly like that. That's where my confusion lies. A few years ago, Canada's Wonderland wanted a great ride to draw more people to the park. So they created Behemoth, a wonderful ride that continues to receive praise from coaster enthusiasts. But with Leviathan, it seems like they wanted to make something that was just taller for height's sake. Aside from the height and trains, I see 2 similar rides made by the same manufacturer (with many of the same parts and design characteristics) that both offer great height, speed, length, airtime, and excitement in a similar package with a similar experience. While the general public might not pay as much attention to the manufacturer of the ride as we coaster enthusiasts do, I'm sure they'd notice how similar the rides are in terms of overall experience. I wouldn't be surprised if that causes Behemoth's popularity to decrease a lot. IMO, Cedar Point did a much better job with fitting Millennium Force into its coaster lineup. Magnum was 10 years old when CP began building MF, and it was designed to be a significantly different ride from the start. As a result, MF took the crown from Magnum as the parks biggest ride without really making it a much less important attraction. Magnum is still popular to this day, even with 2 coasters in the same park that are much taller. I'm not complaining that the park will have 2 great B&Ms that are above 200ft in height. I'm just stating my confusion as to why a park would add a ride that is similar to one built only 4 years ago, with the only major difference differences being height and the trains... Although I do have to admit, it's nice to see those original B&M trains being used again. Patrick 'I like B&M, but it wasn't the smartest move for CW to build 2 similar coasters in a short period of time' Carnahan
