  1. Awesome photos, Jer! I really hope it runs backwards for a while longer; I'd love to get to Great America to ride it, but I doubt I'll be able to do so. Enjoy it while you can!
  2. Actually, you have 2, and both are just meh. If you want a decent SLC, you should come down here to Italy and ride Blue Tornado at Gardaland. It seems as if Vekoma's earlier rides always have issues of some kind. El Condor literally tries to kill you, the first GIBs kept breaking down, Firehawk will not dispatch if the restraint locks are very slightly ajar (and, apparently, they're difficult to place properly), and I guess this Boomerang fits in with its very slow lift.
  3. The first video: Wow, now that's a strange theme for a walkthrough. Even European walkthroughs seem kinda normal compared to this. The second video: I think Joker's move here is perfect. The theming is much better than it used to be as Tony Hawk, it fits in well at the park, and it even has water (though not as much as from the Tony Hawk water challenge from Bay Area Bash ). The third video: That's great to see that a Mexican SLC isn't so bad! I wonder how it compares to Blue Tornado at Gardaland, my current favorite SLC.

  5. Looks amazing! I really cannot wait until this thing comes to life!
  6. Out of the few that I've ridden, I'd say: 1. Kraken at Sea World Orlando 2. Medusa at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom 3. Superman Krypton Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas (may not be accurate, see below) 4. Scream! at Six Flags Magic Mountain With Kraken, although most of the first half of the ride isn't special (in terms of location/theming), the end theming is nice, and the ride itself is fantastic. For Medusa, despite it being a parking lot coaster, it still delivers an awesome ride. Superman Krypton Coaster is great, but I don't remember it enough to fairly rank it, so 3rd place on my list is just an estimate. All I do remember is that its location is excellent and it delivers a very fun ride. Finally, even though Scream! delivers a decent ride, it has gotten slightly rattly over time, its paint is fading, and it is one of the worst eyesore parking lot coasters out there because of its placement.
  7. For me there are a bunch of rides that are underrated: Vekoma GIBs - I know they got horrible rap in the beginning for their unreliable nature, but they're intense and relatively smooth, and they don't give me a headache like most regular Boomerangs. Goliath at Walibi Holland - I haven't heard anything bad about it, but I actually prefer this ride to Expedition GeForce because of its more sudden airtime, even though it's not quite as long. I think this ride is deserving of much more attention than it gets. Raptor at Gardaland - Raptor has gotten quite a bit of hate on TPR for being "forceless" and "gimmicky", but it does actually offer some force in the back, and it's still a fun ride no matter where you sit. Bob Express at Bobbejaanland - Holy crap! I found it hard to believe that a powered coaster could be this intense! Seriously, the lateral forces around the turns are actually really surprising. Silver Bullet at KBF - As thrillseeker4552 said, I think Silver Bullet is actually alright. I've ridden some of the best inverts out there (Katun, Raptor at CP, Montu, Black Mamba, Flight Deck at CGA, and more) and I definitely won't say it's my favorite, but I do think it gets a lot more crap than it deserves just because it isn't crazy-intense. X2 at SFMM - Sure, it's rough and a huge crowd-draw, but I still consider it to be one of the most thrilling rides I've ridden thus far. Revolution at SFMM - I know the OTSRs aren't necessary at all, but they don't completely ruin the ride experience. It's still pretty smooth and delivers some intense force through the loop. Finally, Booster Bike at Toverland - Troy seems to get all of the attention at Toverland while Booster Bike is often overlooked. Booster Bike was just a lot of fun to ride, especially with my aviators on; it made me feel kinda like I was really riding a motorcycle.
  8. The link to my entry is broken, so I'll just upload mine to prevent any further problems.
  9. If I could only pick one... I would go back to 1984 and ride Moonsault Scramble at Fuji-Q Highland. Experiencing 6 Gs and riding 'technically' the world's first hypercoaster would be amazing.
  10. This ACTUALLY happened to me when I visited Cedar Point 4 years ago.
  11. I'm going to predict (or at least hope) that it's something at a new park here in Italy, be it Cinecittà World or Etnalandia. I think Cinecittà World's 10-inversion Intamin looper will be most likely.
  12. This pretty much confirms it to be a Stingray, suncehas 2 inversions as well. I do think the picture Silverwood used for that teaser was somewhat strange, though; It almost made me think that Tremors would be getting 2 barrel rolls or something it
  13. Personally, I have mixed feelings about this possible transformation. Colossus was my first big roller coaster, and it certainly has some nostalgia value for me. I'm fine with a woodie that has a slightly rough (not Bandit rough) character, and Colossus delivered a classic thrill for me when I first rode it. That being said, it has roughened over the last few years, and I am interested to see how the RMC treatment will go for Colossus. Who knows; the loss of the nostalgia might be worth refreshing this old racer and making it exciting again!
  14. Someone I know who works at Silverwood told me that the park expressed interest in buying Thrill Shot from SFMM at the 2011 IAAPA, but I heard that the sale didn't go through. I would personally love to see a rebirth of that ride with its original, more extreme seats, though I doubt that would happen since S&S stopped producing the ride long ago and seems to be focusing on its other flat rides and coasters.
  15. I'm aware that Silverwood owns a lot of property (pretty much everything within the circuit of the train) that could be used, but at this point in time, I don't think the park is quite ready to expand THAT far. Yes, Silverwood might be ready for a big-gun coaster when it comes to its possible attendance range, but I'm sure that the park couldn't just plop a big ride on the other side of the runway without making several logistical changes. The runway still appears to be used as employee parking and parts/materials storage, and some park offices (presumably) are located just across the runway from the park. If Silverwood wanted to expand beyond its current border, it would have to either rip up the runway, put a few fences across the runway for a designated path, dig a tunnel beneath the runway, or just build a path around it. And has anybody seen any development in that area of the property? If the park wanted to expand that far, I would expect to see more obvious work being done on the other side of the runway.
  16. I've been hearing many rumors about Silverwood since my first visit, from enthusiasts and staff members alike. I'm sure that Silverwood would have the ability to introduce a 'big gun' type ride, but I'm wondering how the expansion for a larger ride would work. The park has reached the borders of the original runway from the old airport, and there are only a few places left where any sort of expansion could take place without removal being necessary. The reasonably sized green lot near the park entrance might be a decent sized spot for something, but not for anything too serious. I just looked at a Google Earth image taken on August 17th of the park, and I found a dirt plot just South of Thunder Creek's lift hill. If that has anything to do with this new ride, I'm not expecting it to have a terribly large footprint. This Stingray theory sounds perfectly reasonable, considering how it can utilize the park's limited land resources and offer an experience that matches the Silverwood teaser. It's also worth considering the park's success with its first Vekoma ride, Aftershock, which was certainly an extreme but not super-high-capacity ride. And while this is definitely a step up in terms of the park's thrill factor, the story fits together just right so as to convince me of its possibility. I'm awaiting Silverwood's announcement on this ride, as it's one of my personal favorite parks and I'm interested in this expansion.
  17. Just looking at this game makes me very happy. I'm really glad to see that a new, great looking contender for 'best coaster simulator' is being made. I'm not sure exactly which single feature I would most want to see on it. What's been presented so far is awesome. I do think it would be kinda fun if the game could have a 'self-operator' mode, where you can be trained to be a ride operator and then go about operating a ride as you see fit. It could be like having a camera mounted at the ride control panel, and you can either click on controls to activate them or hit keys on your keyboard. Although it's not a feature, I really hope I can see just as many flat rides (if not more) than RCT3. Ones that I would personally love to see include parachute towers, S&S Screamin' Swings, S&S Sky Swats, S&S Sky Slings with the original seats (and if it would be possible, custom rotations for that ride), and Vekoma Mad Houses. Overall, I'm very impressed by this game and I would definitely buy it once it's released.
  18. I just posted mine! I'm surprised that only 28 of my credits are woodies, but I suppose that encourages me to ride some more. --Generator: Jordan's Ballot Helper 2012 (wood)-- --Ballot: 9f1a03d083b-- --patrickcarnahan5@gmail.com------ LOCATION FOLLOWS THIS LINE (LEAVE THIS LINE AS IS) ~"Naples, Italy" NAME FOLLOWS THIS LINE (LEAVE THIS LINE AS IS IN Ballot) ~"Patrick Carnahan" RANK THE FOLLOWING RIDING SENSATIONS <-LEAVE THIS LINE AS IS Abrupt Airtime_____________________________,y,y,1 Floating Airtime___________________________,y,y,2 Lateral Forces_____________________________,y,y,3 Out of Control Feeling/Directional Changes_,y,y,4 Positive G's/Loops_________________________,y,y,5 Sensation of Speed_________________________,y,y,6 COASTER NAME PARK LOC <--Please leave this My Favorite Steel Anypark Anywhere **,y,y,1 Colossos Heide Park DE,y,y,2 Wodan TimburCoaster Europa Park DE,y,y,3 Joris en de Draak W de Efteling NL,y,y,4 Joris en de Draak V de Efteling NL,y,y,5 Troy Toverland NL,y,y,6 Apocalypse S. 19. Wild Thing at Wild Waves Theme Park. I first rode it in 2004. This picture is one I took in 2010 with its brand new paint job.
  20. How much money does TPR have in its bank account? Perhaps we have a better chance of success than SAVE TEH BIG DIPPER? I never knew of this ride's existence until I got here to Italy. If I would've known that it was there while we were in Florida in February of 2011, I would've tried to convince my parents to drive down there. It's too bad to see a good woodie go, but knowing that it's kinda out of the way of Orlando, I'm not too surprised that it didn't do too well.
  21. B&M: What was the largest obstacle that your engineers encountered when designing the Wingrider coaster?
  22. I'm saddened by the destruction of Texas 'Chute Out. It's unfortunate that another Intamin Parachute tower has had to fall. I'd really like to buy one of the sections of a blue parachute, especially since the money will go to a good cause.
